Thank you indeed for this very instructive video!
I have trouble meshing the entire volume of a given CAD file imported into Abaqus. The problem is that I get a surface mesh as opposed to a volumetric Mesh when trying with Tet elemets.
I was wondering if you could give me some tip on how to address that?
    Many thanks again!

      Hi.
      You are welcome.
If your CAD files is a solid geometry, Abaqus should automatically generate Tet elements on it.
In some cases, if Abaqus can not create the Tet mesh, it only gives you the surface Tri mesh which its color is close to gray. It is the original boundary mesh for creating the 3D Tet mesh and when Abaqus cannot make the 3D Tet mesh from the original 2D Tri mesh, It only gives you that 2D mesh. So you must use other features of Abaqus like the edit topology tools to help Abaqus in generating 3D mesh.
Please watch this video from our RUclips channel to be more familiar with edit topology tools: ruclips.net/video/vnrr9Q2lgMA/видео.html
Also if Abaqus generates mesh without any problem on the geometry but it is 2D Tri mesh instead of 3D Tet mesh, it means that your geometry includes shell and not entirely solid.

Good explanation especially regarding the choice of elemet types-. I have just one comment about the propeller. I suppose only one blade(one seventh of a comåplete revolution is needed to analyse Apply cyclic symmetri on the "cut" surfaces.

      yes.
      your comment is correct.

Thank you very much. Could you please introduce the Orphan mesh in a separate video?

      Hi.
      This is a good idea.
      I will think about it.
      Thank you.
