It's of course good that they took their own direction, but it's funny how the bands inspired by Motörhead never really sounded like them.
I'm old. I was a fan years before this... this was the last period I saw them live until years later I catered them on Ozzfest. ... it kinda broke my heart to see them playing the small stage. Megadeth and their goofy fans by the thousands ignoring them... but years later they seemed to capture the hearts of millions. I love seeing the concert footage of Lemmy in front of giant crowds as he got older. They deserve the love.

However over a long period of time, these bands paid their dues and their music became appreciated. I see a lot of younger people starting to admire these bands also. Like or not music for the most part is just not a thing as it used to be and clearly doesn’t have the same influence. We are now living in the age of the social media, video, influencer stars. The music of today can easily be done on a laptop and does lack that punch to it. You can notice this diminished interest as well through the dwindling audience at music award shows for example.

My first contact to Motörhead. This song was on some Hard'n'Heavy double disc. Must have been in the mid 90s. Think it was track 1 on disc 1. Fell in love instantly. "Iron Fist" has remained my favourite Motörhead song since then.
I was 12 in 82 with hair past my shoulders and hanging in my face, much to my parents and teachers annoyance, which only made me more determined to keep growing it lol, this was the first Moterhead album I bought, I bought it from my local record shop after buying the Iron Fist single on Red vinyl (big deal back then lol still got them of course) I couldn’t wait to save up enough money to buy up their back catalogue lol, no internet etc I would spend hours with my mates pouring over the pictures on the album covers and inner sleeves while pretending to be Fast Eddie 🙏🏼 so so glad to have been around in the 70s and 80s growing up to these guys ✌🏽

IMHO this, Ace of Spades and Overkill are the greatest rock albums ever recorded. They gave the middle finger to the status quo and never changed their sound so that the masses were pleased.
