    I went to Cuba by myself back in 2017. Almost none experience traveling out of my country (Costa Rica), and it was very challenging to find and use public transportation, though I manage to get to Varadero and back to Habana Vieja for about $10.00 or less (got scared dont lie). I was told by locals, foreigner were not suposed to use the public buses, they were intended for Cubans only. Thanks for your video, this is the first one I see... If you could share anything about this topic (public buses), I would greatly appreciate it.

    That bus to Santa Maria del Mar is only for tourists, Cubans can't afford it, probably wont be allowed in. The beach is full of trash, tourists are the only ones that trows they trash in cans if they find one. People drink alcohol, dump the bottles everywhere. The government doesn't take care of those beaches, look at the ruins around, the falling Lifeguard Shack, etc. Contrary to Varadero Beach where they keep the regular Cubans out, they keep the beach spotless. In Havana, everywhere there are people hustling, want to sell you something. Watch for the lack of hygiene from vendors selling food. If you're planing a relaxing day at the beach you are in for a surprise, loud music, nobody speaks English, which is normal, but they pretend they understand. Watch for your belongings. Keep your eyes open when you're swimming, there maybe feces floating. The best part is the water, crystal clear, warm. Good video.

    • @BarefootVlogger
      @BarefootVlogger  8 месяцев назад

      Well for one thing, the beaches look a lot nicer. Secondly and more importantly, hydrogen sulfide and ammonia production typically occurs after algal mats have been beached on land for 48 hours, which can pose a human health hazard. It's a corrosive and toxic gas with a foul odor reminiscent of rotten eggs. Hope that answers your question.

    Hi Terry. The man's reference to politics must be because, during Obama's government, several acts were taken to minimize the US sanctions against Cuba. By later, during the Donald Trump era, those efforts suffered from a lack of continuity, if not totally descontinued I believe.
