  • I highly recommend this Meko 2 in 1 disc and fiber tip stylus set to anyone who writes or draws on a tablet with a capacitive touch screen (iPad, Android, etc.). It will work with smart phones, but may be a hassle due to the smaller screen size of phones.

    I actually bought a 3 in 1 set and it works like charm for me. In my opinion, its great for people with hand tremors(something that causes the hands to shake and make uneven lines).

    This stylus is compatible with any device with a capacitive touchscreen (the kind of touchscreen found in nearly every smart device these days), because it works like an extension of your finger. The advantage of using a stylus, is we are used to writing and drawing with pens and pencils. Therefore we can interact with our smart devices more accurately when we use a stylus.

    I used MEKO stylus before and it is of good use with lower prices. It has wide usage not for writing but drawing. Very satisfied with purchase experience. Highly recommended !!!

    I am very glad to find your video on this particular stylus! We have a little problem with it though : the little disk tip broke off and I was looking for a video on how to replace the disk tip with a new one. I think I need to remove something that is still attached inside of the stylus. Have you had the same kind of problem with yours styluses?

    With regards to palm rejection not working with the standard stylus or likely the one in this video, just wear some type of drawing glove, cotton glove, or a cheap DIY way is to use a cotton shirt or napkin to rest your palm against the screen.

    out of all the styluses which one do you think is good for handwriting on iPad Air?

    • @irecommendone2602
      @irecommendone2602  7 лет назад

      Personally, I'm a fan of a cheap, non-electronic stylus, wth a fiber/fabric tip. Rubber tips and fine point tips wear out fast. Plastic tips are fine, but really slippery. If you had the iPad Pro, the Apple Pencil is pretty sick.

      It is a more accurate way to interact with your screen, which is important for photo editing on an iPad, with an app like Affinity Photo (though I only have experience with the desktop version of Affinity).

    it's been some time now how many of the tips have worn out since you first got it

    • @irecommendone2602
      @irecommendone2602  8 лет назад

      I got it mid way through last year, and none of the tips have worn out yet. However, I haven't used the stylus in a while, since it is summer, and I had to give back my school iPad. I'll try and remember to comment on this again once school has been going for a while and I start using it again. One thing to note however, is the part of the stylus that holds the precision tips in place keeps falling out of the main shaft of the stylus. I've been meaning to hot or super glue it back in place, so it is not just reliant on friction to keep in place. I haven't gotten around to doing this yet, and have just started using the second stylus without issue. It stays in place okay if you don't screw the cap on and pull, but I like to fiddle with the stylus when I get board.

      Non-electronic styluses like this are the same as using your finger on your tablet. If your finger can work with Photoshop, this stylus will behave the same way. If you have the cash on hand and are planing to use a stylus and tablet heavily in Photoshop, you may consider a Wacom tablet like the Intuos Pro. I've used it in my graphic design class, but prefer the mouse just because I'm more used to it. There is also a very interesting iPad app called Astropad. I suggest you take a look at it, but is is expensive for an app, and you will probably want some kind of stylus to use with it.

    • @TheoCynical
      @TheoCynical 7 лет назад

      The problem is that whenever I use my finger, its more for scrolling than for drawing use. (Its assigned that way by default) I'm sure I'll figure it out for that purpose but, I was just curious if they'd be able to work.
      I suppose, since I have a PC and use Photoshop Elements, not so much the I pad and app, do you think I'd be able to use an electric stylus on my Hp Envy's touchpad?

    • @shallomn4746
      @shallomn4746 7 лет назад +1

      donnell outlaw it is precise enough to draw with, the round end can be used to scroll but the disk end is for more precise tasks. I would have posted a photo of my art works using this pen however I don't think it would be visible on here. I own an HP Spectre and I use this pen to draw on it.

    Will this stylus work well on Windows 10 Tablets? I'm thinking of getting the Nextbook Flexx 11, and not sure of what stylus to get for it. Specifically searching for one to draw with, and other basic things.

    • @irecommendone2602
      @irecommendone2602  8 лет назад +1

      It should work the same with any device using a capacitive touch display (the technology used in modern smartphones and tablets). This option is great as an all-purpose stylus, but if you decide you are serious about drawing on a tablet, you may want to consider getting an electronic one with features like palm rejection and an un-do button.

    • @InfiniteSlasher
      @InfiniteSlasher 8 лет назад

      iRecommendOne I've found ways to get around those small things though. I've found theres gloves made specifically as smudge guard for traditional drawing, but also works as a palm guard of sorts to deal with palm rejection. The un-do button is on screen as well so theres no problem there for me. Thank you for the fast reply! Seems I will be getting this one then! Considering I'll also be using this new tablet for youtube, watching movies, etc etc as well.

    • @irecommendone2602
      @irecommendone2602  8 лет назад +3

      +Everlasting Speaking of using gloves to draw without electronic palm rejection, I've found that pulling the sleeve of my sweatshirt over part of my wrist and palm works great. It's a lot more convenient too :-)
      One warning if you are thinking of buying this stylus: I made the video a few months ago, and now that I've used the product more, the part that holds the precision tip to the body has fallen off. I still have the second stylus, and I expect some hot glue would fix the older one up just fine. I still would recommend the product though. Hopefully I'll be able to make a video on this issue, but it may be a while because I'm pretty busy right now.

    How long does a tip last?

    • @irecommendone2602
      @irecommendone2602  8 лет назад +2

      +Irionity Tr.
      The short answer is "it depends." More use will obviously mean the tips wear out quicker. I've been using the stylus for over a month now. I estimate my usage is in the ball park of 4 hours per week, and I have not yet worn out either the fiberous or precision end. According to my research prior to purchasing this model, fiber tips last a really long time. The precision tips on the other hand, are far less durable. I have a friend who bought a stylus which uses a similar precision style tip (a rod to attach to the stylus, and a circular plate at the bottom). His broke within in a week. That sounds really bad, but I think his was just a thin wire, whereas the one in this video has a sturdy metal shaft, and a good size plastic bottom plate. I am a little concerned about mine though, because the rubber piece which connects the plate to the shaft and allows the plate to conform to your writing posture, is about as thick as a dull pencil (pause the video between 4:25-4:30 to see the tip up close). All in all, I would expect that if you're using the stylus hours a day and not being gentle, the woven fiber end will last around 3 months, and the precision tip 1 month.

      It has a metal spring inside the stylus shaft, solely for the purpose of adding weight. It is a good feel to me, and weighs about as much as 5 pens, which is still quite light to me.

      I mainly use this stylus in GoodNotes 4. This is a necessity for many of my classes, and is more convenient than using a real notebook (less to carry around, easy to erase, can copy & paste, etc.). I personally do not draw much on a tablet, but I have on occasion. Any stylus is far better for drawing than just using your fingers. Though it is NOT made for drawing GoodNotes 4 is great for notes and is available exclusively for Apple iOS devices, and can be purchased for $8 U.S. at itunes.apple.com/us/app/goodnotes-4-notes-pdf/id778658393?mt=8.
      If you are looking for a good app for drawing on a tablet, you may look into the following (I have not used all of these apps myself, so I'd recommend you do some research before you download any PAID app): Autodesk Sketchbook (there are different versions, I've enjoyed using "Express"), Paper by 53, Procreate, Concepts, and Tayasui Sketches.
      Hope this helps.

    I bought it. Can't recommend - I had Note 4 and Meko 2 in 1 is laughable in comparison, barely works (on any device I tried it on). You can write, huge letters. Smaller letters will be unreadable because it is not precise enough. Not sure why there are no more phones with Wacom, only Samsung Notes. :(
