If you want a drive to act as network attached storage you need a NAS drive, they come as internal drives and hubs. They're designed to work 24/7 under load. Don't ask me too many questions tho, I'm not an expert.
I wouldn't recommend a mechanical drive; instead, a solid drive to keep on working for a long time

The quick setup ghide said to connect the Wan ports together
It didnt work
What we instead did ( after digging trough the app and website ) was that apparently the Routers Lan goes to the Extenders Wan
And then you can fiddle with the personalized settings and AiMesh all you want i dont know what it does but We couldnt get the Top internet, Ai mesh and other all in one setting to work and the one below it worked even better

Smart connect sometime causes lost connections on all routers as it decides where to put the clients after those clients wake up. Better to disable it and make separate bands and place all your devices manually.

I have a NetGear AC1900 right now downstairs. My house is 2400sq ft solid brick. I have a 300mbps internet connection and the PC downstairs in hardwired into the Spectrum modem and hooked up to the NetGear AC1900 router. The speeds are always 355+mbps. My issue is my gaming PC is upstairs on WIFI and the NetGear router can't manage to get over 160mbps. I bought it because I thought it would be an upgrade over the Spectrum WIFI router but it's actually not. The Spectrum WIFI 6 router got into the 300mbps speeds earlier in the day and dropped off at night, give or take. Only reason I went with the NetGear is because the Spectrum router would drop connection constantly throughout the entire day. My question is will this ASUS router beable to give me 300mbps with a steady connection through brick walls? I was either thinking this or a mesh system. Thanks!

Can you connect your mobile and use usb therething? So, using your mobile data into the modem and use an Ethernet cable to a ps5?
Hello man, I was wondering whether I could connect this router into my old router directly via LAN cable and still achieve the advertised Wi-Fi-6 speeds and GHz, thank you :)
Im not sure if its the same as the Wi-Fi 6 speeds
BUT it does help or did helpnin our case to Enhance the Base router speeds
Basically our setup before vs after
Before : ( Zyxel VMG 3625 Router ) with 2,4Ghs and 5Ghz
Network speeds ( in wifi settings )
2,4Ghz - 65Mbps
5Ghz - 360Mbps
After ( with asus AX3000/RT-AX57 )
( wifi settings tab again )
2,4Ghz - 86Mbps
5Ghz - 350Mbps
Where then the Asus router enhaced "Both" wifi speeds by quite alot
Im putting my Upload/Download speeds ( from Ookla ) right now so im adding a comment here

The router and extender is on the upstairs so i dont know if this test proofs anything 😂

Honestly I bought this router, hooked it up via ethernet cable and it works exactly how you would want it to. Better speeds than standard router box and larger range!@@brunoob-1

So the download speeds are slightly faster with the asus thingy
And more importantly It doesnt disconnect as much

I dont use Lan so i cant tell about that
And i have no clue about AiMesh
But for me it workes better then the original router
If you can then buy it from a stotr that has a refund acceptency
My Wifi thing the provider is "Telia" in finland and its a neighbourhood agreement payment thingy so we share the same thing
And it was a mess with the original router especially now in the holidays as people start to gather with families
So thats the main reason why i bought it

- Wireless - General - Target Wake Time: Disable si pe 2.4 si pe 5 Ghz (Enable - activeaza internetul peste noapte, functie sensibila)
- Wireless - Professional - Roaming Assistant - si pe 2.4 si pe 5 Ghz: Disable sau -70 dBm (Nimic diferit) )
- Wireless - Professional - Modulation Scheme - si pe 2.4 si pe 5 Ghz: Up to MCS 11

- nu setati securitatea parolei Wpa3 (unele dispozitive gen: aer conditionat, robot aspirator, tv, tableta, telefon, etc nu suporta Wpa3 si veti spune ca e de vina routerul).
Semnalul trece prin tot apartamentul cu pereti grosi (bloc vechi). Pe banda de 2.4 Ghz dau net si la vecini 4-5 etaje.

I meant to say is not for a larger connectivity more that 30-40 devices connected to it, the load keep up and you will start to see lag in your network. Most of the house have have more that 5-10 connection on this routers for example the Ring camera and other iPads. This not made for a larger network setup like an office or more than 10-30 people on the network. I had a network party and it started to show its true colors that I needed a larger and more expensive router to manage the connectivity.
This thing wont work if you dont restart it daily ...really a disappointment

Does this router come with a subscription, I'm hoping that it doesn't.
Asus junk routers. I bought 2 and have to keep restarting them. The routers take turns shutting down. Its not the modem because the signal is still great after the routers shut down

@@donaldalderman2424 All the junk routers from China are pretty much the same disposable junk. They only care about profits. You have to spend around $300 to get a router that's not junk
Hi, picked up rt-ax57. It won't connect to my 1gb fiber internet. Tried cloning, pwr on and off, wps and reset. The internet led stays red. Wondering if hard wear or ISP . It comes back withe ISP dchp problem?

Yes for both I have been on PS5 and use Nord VPN
