    Robert Mitchum was always one of my favorites, since I was a child. And he was married to the same girl for 57 years.. until death took them apart. God bless him.

    Isn’t that something that all those big name actors turned down the lead role in “Dirty Harry.”
    I can’t imagine anyone playing that role better than Clint Eastwood did.

      Tell me if you can imagine this. In true grit, the producer wanted John Wayne to play Rooster Cogburn from the beginning but, if he couldn't sign on, he was considering Walter Matthau or Robert Mitchum.

      i know clint was born to play the role, but i'll always be sorry that it wasn't lee marvin.
