I’ve been making pour overs daily for years. Just got an aeropress go. I love it. The same as a pour over, I measure the grounds and water, and time the bloom and immersion. Because it’s only 8oz of water, it’s important to be precise and consistent for best results.
I bought one of these for car camping and did not realize how much I would love it. Shortly after buying it, my electric coffeemaker took a dump so I use this every day now. I just heat the water up in the microwave 2 mins or so. One level scoop and add a bit more water at the end and creamer. I love it!
I am a coffee addict and work from home. So I have my big ninja coffee maker. But the last 3 trips I've been on, I have struggled to get not only a good cup of coffee but even a cup of coffee altogether l o l. It's time for me to take control, and this might be my next purchase. I'm even thinking of getting a travel kettle, so I don't have to even worry about where I will get hot water. I'm to the point I don't even want to use hotel microwaves or anything. I just want to be able to make a cup of coffee, anywhere anytime with my own equipment. Great review thank you! ☕️
Nice review. Love the Aero Press for a lot of the reasons you mentioned. Great taste, convenience, etc. Just seems like the standard is small and unobtrusive enough to take on trips, camping, etc. Not sure the "Go" version is even warranted.
Thanks for the feedback! The main upside is being able to collapse into the cup. It is nice knowing its clean and ready to go when you need it to be. That said, a gallon ziploc bag could do the same.
I also have the go version and looked at several videos about aeropress recipes and they all are the same. Just brewing black coffee and not adding anything else. I like my coffee with different kinds of creamers and add more water to it. I don't have a favorite mug and the cup that comes with it is sufficient enough for me
You don't like that it doesn't fit on every size mug? You don't like that it's not big enough for more coffee? REALLY?! Then BUY the regular size press you winer! Oh, wait. Then you would complain that it takes up more room and that it weighs a couple of GRAMS more! Get real!
You are probably correct, I would say those things! I do my best as a product reviewer to show the upsides and downsides to products, to show you exactly what you can expect. I have been using this product for years, and thousands of times, because it’s by far my favorite coffee maker out there. But just because I like it so much, doesn’t mean I should take someone’s own choice out of the matter, and I want help them make the best educated choice for themselves. For some people, not being able to use their favorite coffee mug may be a deal breaker (it’s not for me, but may be for them). For some, it may be a deal breaker that they can’t easily take their coffee maker on the go, because it isn’t compact and have its own case, so they should go with this Aeropress Go, rather than the standard model. Does that make sense? Even if I really like a product, I try to show both sides, to educate my viewers to help them make a choice for themselves, rather than to tell them what to think.
@Gear_43 So ya know, I believe I was too harsh and critical. I am kinda tired of hearing these people, who tear the tags out of their underwear and cut their shoe laces on half to "save on weight" while hiking, but then complain about the lesser "weight product" being lesser functional. Your review was great, informative, and very objective. I retract my previous overly critical comment in exchange for a "thank you" and keep-it-coming comment

@Gear_43 P.s. I gave my first comment my own thumbs down .
