Upgrading to iCUE v5 erases all my settings and profiles. Just great.
And the software is still non-0intuitive and confusing as phuck to use.
The problem main seems to stem from the context switching bar across the top... Profiles, Dashboard, and Murals.
I wish they would just get rid of it. I never see it, have to hunt for it, and have no idea what mode I'm in or what changes i'm doing are affecting what. Still none of my Corsair controller boxes, fans, or or water cooler are showing up, only the RAM sticks.

Why did I buy into this crrp?
I still can't get iCUE to detect or talk to my Commander Core or Core XT.
I watched your diagnostic video, swapped SATA and USB headers around, nothing. Everything but the pinhole reset which I can't find on either one of them. One box is stuck on RGB Rainbow Pwke, the other Is stuck on all off (or it's bricked).
In all my diagnostic experimentation I fried out the RGB on one of my white ML120 fans. These things aren't cheap either.
So for all my money spent, I got RGB Pwke on the fans that can't be cahnged and well I can control the RGB on my DIMMs.. but iCUE is so complicated to use it's not even fun. If I could get them to siplay CPU load, CPU temp, VIdeo Card temp, and system temp, maybe they would be useful? Otherwise all this bright color is just really annoying.
If you're out there and reading this, avoid RGB as much as you can. IT will waste your time and don't make your computer go one bit faster (der). It's distracting and time consuming and all the time you spend futzing iwth it, is time you're not moving on and actually getting stuff finished with the rest of yoru build or getting work done. I.e., it's a mistake.
If it worked right out of the box for you as advertised, okay, your opinion will differ... but for me, it has never worked as advertised.
What cCorsair needs to do for people like me to make things right, is just ask okay, what water block and fans do you have in your system do you need to drive... in my case, an H150i waterblock and 7 Capellix fans in my Corsair 5000X... okay, we're going to send yo out a replacement Link kit with those parts included, hit us back up when you get it installed and let us know if iCUE can now see all yoru Corsair stuff...
But that ain't going to happen...
SO I'm left sifting through ebay trying to find at least a replacement Commander Core and try again with yet a 3rd unit... because I can't see anywhere where you can buy these stand alone from COrsair or RMA for a replacement.

So I adopted the new link eco system so I got a 3 pack and a fan extension pack but they only gave me one cable so I wait and when they finally come out with cables it’s 50 dollars for 100 mm it’s just crazy the cable cost as much as one fan 😢😢

And 50 dollars per fan :P lol i dont think its worth if if you dont buld a 4k plus pc i am sorry but i dont think the costs are worth it in most cases . You will pay as much as for a full custom water cooling

What happens when there's one component is damaged? , Does that mean there's a possibility to replace too much components? , Plus since it's a linked system it will be hard to determine what the problem with the components if they were defective.

Given that everything is addressable it reasons they'd also be able to diagnose issues within the "network". There's also a good chance that a part could die but still maintain it's connection in the chain. That said, I'd always keep a spare link cable around to make a bridge in case a part needs to be removed.

Do you know how hard it is to install and control 34 corsair rgb fans? I wish I knew about this a month ago, I can't afford to replace all my fans now. I'm still enjoying building my computer though.

How on earth do you have 34 fans???

I have a corsair 1000d tower with 2 exhaust fans, 32 fans on 4 480 radiators that are push pull.

Ideally there will be adapters and splitter cable so that older fans and AIOs can continue to be used.

@IanZamojc, I totally understand that, I don't think we'll see any adapters to the icue link system. The older controllers still work and in icue they all work together to sync lighting. I don't know what the roadmap is for Corsair, but I can imagine it involves moving all their stuff to the icue link system, but maybe not, it's kind of pricey...
      Have fun! Thanks for watching!!!

I felt frusterated watching their products. Its great that that got something that has cable management out now, But why couldnt they come out with something like this earlier?
I am already considering going to something that uses "RGB Standards" and not some proprietary crap.
And quite frankly, I am getting tired of corsair coming out with some thing after another with a heavy price tag on it. especially when it turns out to look or be better.
