Cinematography Production by Benjamin Fraser
Lyrics:
Of all the money that e're I had
I spent it in good company
And all the harm that e're I've done
Alas it was to none but me
And all I've done for want of wit
To memory now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all
If I had money enough to spend
And leisure time to sit awhile
There is a fair maid in this town
Who surely has my heart beguiled
Her rosy cheeks and ruby lips
I own she has my heart enthralled
Then fill to me a parting glass
Good night and joy be with you all
Oh all the comrades that e're I had
They're sorry for my going away
And all the sweethearts that e're I had
They wish me one more day to stay
But since it falls unto my lot
That I should rise and you could not
I'll gently rise and softly call
Good night and joy be with you all - Видеоклипы
A stunning Gaeilic artisan who promotes our collective celtic culture. Irish and scots are the same people.
Patriot Gael Right on. Irish resent not the british, but the english. Scots have a more complicated relationship with the empire than the Irish, owing to the fact that some royalty comes from the scots, and that the scots are far more protestant than the irish. But the language and the music bind the irish and scots. What say you?
I’m Scottish with genetic connections to my Celtic/Gaelic cousins...
no knowledge of any connection to any sassanachs whatsoever!
@@commane21 I’m a prod from Northern Ireland, I can honestly say I have more in common with the Scottish and (Irish from down south) than i do with the English. Have nothing but love for both our Gaelic nations we have a shared history that goes back as far as history itself 👍🏻
@@AmandaAlexandra47 That level of inbreeding is seldom seen outside Fife. You'll be unlikely to meet anyone with zero traces of English.
Seems typical for Americans to assume they only have Scottish genes based upon their last name.
Irish and Scottish people have different cultures however they are very connect in that why.
Elle, all of the songs are so beautiful. God has given you a gift. Hope you continue to share it with us. Thank you.
Another stunning, superstar performance by red haired Ella.......absolutely stunning.......what a talent this beautiful singer is!.......
The "parting glass", or "stirrup cup", was the final hospitality offered to a departing guest. Once they had mounted, they were presented one final drink!
Such a pretty woman and a beautiful voice. It goes deep to my heart. Greetings from Germany. Let's keep our european culture.
I'm Australian but have European roots and couldn't agree more
Why are you not getting more attention? Just, wow.

Wonderful voice -- makes me feel my Scottish heritage, truly!
It's an irish song, the song is about a man from cavan who was forced to immigrate from Ireland to Britain separated from from family , friends, all he knew and loved.
Dating back to the 1700’s perhaps even earlier text version...it’s very scottish and proudly sung by our Celtic cousins in Ireland.
Absolutely beautiful and moving.
You are such a gifted, soulful singer and I never tire of listening to you💙
One of my favourite songs, and sung so well.
Awesome!

Beautiful
I get a lot of comfort when you sing in a lullaby-like voice.
Of course it's impossible, but I want to see you sing in person. She is more beautiful than anyone else when she sings to the point where she looks like a princess in a movie.
Thank you for the beautiful song. ❤

Makes me long for Scotland. Would love you to do the Ballad of Johnnie Armstrong.
It's not a Scottish song though it's irish , written by a man from Cavan who was forced to immigrate from Ireland to Britain separated from family, friends, all he knew and loved.
Definitely a Scottish song...
Joanne Costine Or please discredit my months of research and correct me?
What a beautiful and talented Irish girl!
She’s actually Australian.
Very beautiful voice. :D Great!

Would love to hear you doin Carrickfergus
very good, just as good or better than Celtic Woman. I could not find any CDs or DVDs of her singing, unfortunately. But at least there seem to be a lot on youtube.
Ella is awesome and I love this song, but the recording is lacking. Too bad.
🍻👻
Would you ever do an official version of this?
Who is this person? SOOOO amazing..
This Woman is so incredibly Beautiful, that all i've known and seen before, fade into a mist and I can see no other. Not only that but I love her voice and how she sings. Born in Oz with Scottish roots I read.
whats thname of this song?... its my first contact with Ella Roberts.
It's called "The Parting Glass" - a traditional song in both Ireland and Scotland.
Beautifully sung... unfortunately, this is one of those songs that one expects to be growled out by someone who had a bit too much liquid enjoyment.
