I just purchased. 1. I’ve compared angler data to navionics. There are large differences in any fishing area of interest. Too much interpolation in navionics. It would be nice if you can fill in the angler data with navionics to give fuller picture albeit with less accuracy. 2. It would be good to have shading options and colored depths. 3. It would also be good to overlay vegetation with bottom composition. Thanks Hugh
where do u get the water temp data? does it give water temps and wind speed direction for every body of water in the usa? like how do i know it will work for where i live? and does it need data connection to work? or will it work if ur phones in airplane mode?
The water temp comes from satellites that pass over the waterbodies every so often, but if there's clouds over the lake then it can't read the temperature and you'll see the data from the previous pass. Wind direction comes from local weather stations, so that's as up-to-date as any weather model you find online. We collect all the data on the app so you have it as soon as we have it, but you will need an internet connection to get it. Right now, none of the layers work in airplane mode. Currently our coverage for wind is worldwide and our water temperature coverage is on every waterbody in the U.S.
The best way is to start a free trial to have a look at your area. We have some layers, like Navionics contours, that have nearly 100% coverage across the US. There are other layers, like C-MAP bottom composition, that depend on whether or not local anglers have submitted sonar logs for all or part of your lakes.
How are the water temps graded or recorded if that's something that you can divulge? Ques asked bc living directly on Lake Guntersville I've had or used the water temp on the app and chrome site as well and what my Garmin and Hummingbird read are always different. After watching, I wasn't aware that it would/was providing current temps, averaged temps, etc. what is the temperature showing on the app? Today for example or now currently it shows(ed) to be 80° and it was actually higher than that. Thanks in advance--been premium from the start and going now to upgrade my app. By far the best online tackle retailer by way of customer service & support, time of response, going to the option to shop by lake, ambassador program allowing us weekend warrior, BPT, Elite, yada yada wannabes to upload reports and get feedback from other anglers filed reports to see what's "hot" currently on that pond. For example I make the run to Chickamauga and Pickwick quite often and have used that to pick up and try baits I don't have or keep in my everyday boat lineup. The number of new sku numbers is hard to keep up with which can be a good thing. However, It'd be great if these and other items were stocked in higher quantities; and I realize shelf space, sq footage is always a parameter for retailers. While the email me notification is great, and could be me, but when looking for new(er) items they're out of stock and have to take chance on finding at local shops that week or weekend on fishing trips. Keep up the great work
@@jdubya3498 thanks for the kind words! The temp information is derived from satellite data. It's refreshed whenever the satellites pass overhead which is usually every day, but there are limitations to that like when there's too much cloud cover to get an accurate reading. But the app shows the latest info on water temps rather than a historic average or anything like that. In general we'd say that the info is best used for planning and locating warming/cooling sections of a lake but it's not meant to replace the temperature readings your electronics can give you by directly measuring the water.
@@omniafishing thanks for the response! I appreciate the detailed explanation of the temperature readings. I don't and haven't used the temp readings for a replacement of what my electronics show! The new layers are going to be 🔥 with everything available and allow me to ride around graphing without having to leave the house
Definitely going to be a “must have” out there on the water. Can’t wait to check it out when it’s rolled out!👍🎣
Omnia is my go to fishing app!

May have missed it but is there a GPS feature with the maps similar to navionics app?
We actually have something coming from Navionics soon so stay tuned!
