    Great video, would be super interested in a detailed comparison between the FR-10 and FR-12.

    when you consider these type cabs, think of them more as a PA style active speaker system, which are never open/closed back as an option like normal guitar amp cabs. i really like the extra option of eq on the fender as opposed to a normal frfr set up like the headrush 108, which i have, and now use for all fold back situations as they sound really good.

    Great video, keep them coming. Quick question, Do you think that 10" speaker will hold up in a small gig without front of house guitar? I do a lot of those gigs, just bass amp, guitar amp, a drummer and 2 speakers for the voice only.

      A single 12 in speaker would have issues with keeping up with a drummer.

    Thanks for your video, very informative. In your opininion - does FR10 sounds better than FR12 at really low bedroom volume? I had FR12 and it was awesome in that scenario, but I returned it due to the hiss which was annoying at low volume. Gonna buy another (they apparently fixed the hiss problem in new units) but I can't decide - FR10 or FR12? 🙂

    • @DCFGuitar

      I noticed a hiss with the FR10 (as shown in the video) but I have not noticed it with the FR12 actually. At low volumes, it’s pretty much a wash in terms of what is better. With the 12, you will have pronounced low end, I find I have to turn the bass down on the cab when practicing at bedroom levels. If I had to buy one, for form factor/bang-for-the-buck, ease of transport, it would be the FR10 over the 12

    Nice vid! I’ve got the FR12, and sometimes find it to get a little boomy, but a small tweak to the bass control, or a bit of high pass on the Kemper seems to smooth that out.

      I just bought the fr 10 today because of people saying the 12 was to booming I have another fr 13 from a different company and it’s boomy. But if I ever need another speaker I’ll rock both

    Thanks for sharing. I would be really interested to hear more about FR-10 vs the FR-12. I am keen to get one of these speakers but there are none in the stores in my town so I'll have to order one.
    I am just not sure which one to get. I had assumed the FR-12 would be better, but I have seen a few comments where people say they prefer the sound of the FR-10.

    If you have a QC and IEMs and a PA system then why did you need on stage volume from this cab? Was the IEM mix so bad you needed the cab for reinforcement of your sound to bleed past you IEMs? Was your volume just low, or did FOH mess with your EQ before sending the t back to you? I’m friends with the sound guy where I play so I always get a great mix and don’t need any stage volume. Just curious.

    • @DCFGuitar
      @DCFGuitar  7 месяцев назад +4

      For me it helps the “feel” of playing through a modeller when I have a cab on stage of some sort. Something about a speaker near you that’s pushing just your guitar sound. Also you can get natural feedback and that sort of thing

    great video great song, question, between fr10 and fr12 , I hear the 12 will have more low end,
    so what you think is better for Higain tones thats need lots of mids and a little of low end to dont sound weak, FR10?

    • @DCFGuitar
      @DCFGuitar  7 месяцев назад

      Honestly it’s probably a toss up between the two. They’re gonna be fairly close. I’d look at them in terms of what form factor works better for you

    I've considered getting the 12 you mentioned, but I'm murdering my live thing via my pair of 15's (2way P.A. cabs) behind me, sometimes I only use one in most situations, it sounds freaking amazing!! I have a very small mixer on a music stand in front of me with the added access to micro tweaking if needed, most times it's just perfect as I've tuned it as standard in most situations, I'm juicing mine via a Crown power amp parked in the background out of sight, man, it's so good it destroys 4x12 boutique rigs included honestly. I'm luckier than most for sure because I'm also utilising a pair of original BOSS FA-1 units in my signal chain for the magic-sauce factor....bloody sublime and glorious brother!!!...it's all about the balls man! that, and moving the air properly.

    Thanks for the video, and nice playing on the gig portion of the video 👍🏻
    I’m in the process of redoing my rig as I currently find myself “bandless” for the first time in a long time, and I’m a few years older than you (59 cough cough 🤦🏻‍♂️😆) and lugging around heavy amps is not fun anymore. I recently picked up a Tonex One that I will be using in conjunction with a few other pedals for a small board, but I’m gonna need something to put it all through. Amongst other things, I was looking at both the FR 10 and the FR 12. You just may have talked me into one of them. Thanks 😊

      The lightest and most effective option cold be to grab a light 2 way plastic f/b 2 way wedge, mount it as you would a conventional combo type amp perhaps, you will be bloody amazed at how you missed the option sooner.

    I’m debating between the fr10 and the fr12. I heard the fr12 sounds a little bit boomy compared to the fr10. If I’m going for only sound quality which one would you go for?

    • @DCFGuitar
      @DCFGuitar  7 месяцев назад +1

      Honestly probably the 12”. Both cabinets have a bit of bass coupling when used on the floor. If you use the tilt-back feature, you get less bass coupling

    I’m primarily a bass player but I like the idea of the tonemaster pro and a fr-10 or 12 but this was definitely not advertised for bass guitar. I was wondering if you have a bass laying around to check the tone

    The fr12 or power cab, the wattsge is not whats advertised its peak watts i had a tech 21,power engine 60 that was loud as fuc! And the 2000watt frfr headrush 10's and the 60 watt power engine was louder and clearer with low end than the 2000 watt headrush two of em broke up and were clipping at ¾ volume.

    • @DCFGuitar
      @DCFGuitar  5 месяцев назад +2

      I don’t really agree it’s overpriced. This market has many (IMO inferior) options priced far above this price point that not only don’t sound as good, but don’t offer the level of options you get with the FR10. Of course I’d love everything to be cheaper, but you’re talking about a product developed alongside a $1,700 product (Fender tone master Pro). I think it is a great value
