I have a grumman sportboat that is 15 feet and it will do 12mph with two people and gear with an old evinrude 7.5 hp. Your boat looks like it is really going quite fast. I watched your video with the 15 hp suzuki too and you really modified the canoe quite a bit. I would love to know how fast you are going.
That thing moves out real good! I like the Cav. Plate! I have a canoe with a 6hp outboard also. Mine lost 2 mph with the additions I've made but it is now roomy and stable. Checkout My setup on My Channel, Rick the DJ :-)
A few people have asked but I will too. What is the max speed? This is a great idea and design. Easily removable for when you want to revert to a canoe.
Thanks for that. Have upgraded and changed the Gurmman canoe 15 feet and now run Suzuki 9.9hp lean burn upgraded to 15 hp 20.07.2022. Search RUclips tube my name. Odd Walseng.
@@Table1000would work as you probably think. The idea of the plate on the back of the canoe is to give the canoe a planing area and move the flow of water further back. Without it(even with a whale fin on the motor), the water flowing around the back of the canoe would drag the aft end down and it wouldn’t never get out of its own wake.
In Korea, when an engine is installed on a kayak or a low-horsepower engine is installed on a small dinghy boat, the ship inspection station under the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries inspects the boat and then registers it with the competent city hall, county office, ward office, etc. As in this video, anyone who remodels a small boat at will and carries a low-horsepower engine of 4.9HP or less will be cracked down by the Korea Coast Guard and will be subject to a large fine. Korea is a developed country, but the law is like this! The Korea Coast Guard, which does not try to fix the law even though it is wrong, puts everything into the system and makes management easier, should reflect! I am embarrassed to write this!
Even small kayak or dinghy boats with electric motors are said to be under the law as boats weighing less than 20 tons! So, if you get caught by the Coast Guard while sailing without being inspected and registered with the government, you will have to pay a large fine! True! Korea is a country without freedom of leisure life! It is embarrassing!
@@michaelkim4251 i feel kinda sorry for the situation, however, id say in sweden (as far as i know) looking at boats under 7 meters anyway, you could, theoreticly put a 150hp tiller on it, and drive it on lake/or sea, but your insurance would only be valid with a motor that the manufacturer of the hull is confirming, for example 6hp.mounting anything above that having a insurance is waste of money. so while we are allowed, have a malfunction and scratch a yacht and your savings goes poof

Brilliant. I'm equally pleased that you didn't overlay ridiculous music and drown out the motor. Good video, thank you.
Nuckin’ futcs man.
This moves incredibly well. Like wtf dog I want this so bad

Great! I subscribed to your channel! I'm in shipbuilding
Excellent idea well done
do you have the plans for the mount and stabilizer? I would like to do the same thing to my canoe. If you do can I buy them or get them.
Very Creative 👌
Wow, cool setup! What is the max speed on this?
멋찌네요.

and even with the engine on, you can stop the motor, use the oar to slip into shallow water, it's still a canoe.
Thats pretty OK how about the build for the cavitation plate
Nice

Odd Walseng.
Any plans for twin outboards
Any updates on the your modification
How fast does it go?
please email me the plans on how to make that
You can put a whale fin on the motor. They sell them everywhere. Would be quick and easy. Id love a video comparing the two.
