I’m excited for these movies! The original The Strangers was so creepy and downright scary at times. I enjoyed the sequel as well because the swimming pool scene was filmed not far from where I live. I cannot wait to see the remake and it’s sequels. I think they are going to be great.

Hear Me Out: This movie is more than meets the eye. Think about the lines being said. The same things going on from the original. Theory: Brian is from that town. Has a past his girlfriend doesn’t know about. And I believe chapter 2 will keep showing shots that were omitted from chapter 1. That’s how we find out the strangers became the strangers. Maybe it’s a reach but I don’t think so. I think we just want the pay off in the same movie but there is definitely more into the plot than we think.
I'm cautiously excited. I'm such a fan of the original that it would take an act of the movie gods to convince me that a new trilogy is actually a good move. I seriously hope they don't fuck it up!

This is one of the most scary horror movies I've ever seen. Only because the monsters are real. Real people are scarier than any ghost, phantom, monster or demon could hope to be.
I'm super stoked for this trilogy. I'm not a remake fan. BUT! This is gonna be way different. I also dig the fact that Harlin is directing. Everything Mike said about his style of filmmaking is true and that's why I think it's gonna work. I just hope we don't get to much of a backstory on the strangers themselves. I love the who the fuck are they mystery around them. I want the strangers to be total strangers. The less we know the better it works.

Have you checked out the new john carpenter directed miniseries on Peacock i believe? Idk if itll be my thing but it seems interesting solely because of carpenters name
The only problem is its Carpenter. So that means its not going to do well, probably going to get crapped on like 99.9% of Carpenter's other movies not called Halloween and, then he'll make it worse and start complaining like a bitter bitch like he's been doing since Ghosts of Mars when studios stopped being willing to give him money to make anything.
Yeah it’s a remake but it looks like a fairly loose remake with enough original material to make the story their own. The original had a couple post possible breakup and the horror in maybe a 3 hour timeframe from start to finish Here we have a couple very much in love arriving and checking out the town in the late afternoon/early evening giving our 3 killers plenty of time to play out their scary movie tricks.
It is neither a remake nor a remake, but a trilogy of independent sequels. Renny Harlin said that at NYCC. I don't understand why people keep saying it's a remake.
I don't think it's truly a remake, more so it's just a very similar story, clearly the character names are different here, so I'm thinking it's a "remake" only in that they've done this MO several times and this is just another one of those times, possibly after/possibly before Kristen & James but similar to familiarize a new audience with the original concept of the strangers... And as long as they don't explicitly say sack head isn't supernatural or kill him off, I'm thinking it's gonna be one of those situations where the previous films are still canon if you want them to be
@@WeWatchedAMovie I know, I still think he means that it's bassically the same storyline, just, a different couple and they do the same routine to them, so yea remake... in a manner of speaking lol

I’m a die hard horror fan, and had higher hopes for the second film, as the original sat with me for a few days. Made me feel very uneasy and just off. The second film. Eh. I felt absolutely nothing. I have hopes for this new trilogy, but I wouldn’t go as far as to say I’m hyped. Rather disappointed by the fact that they went with a blatant remake of the first. Considering I enjoy the 2nd film infinitely more than the og, & generally not a fan of this director's past work my enthusiasm has been deflated. I hope it does well tho, keep these slashers pumping until Freddy or Jason can finally return to the big screen
Well it has the bad luck of coming after the overrated as fuck Dream Warriors and before the pretty awful Dream Child. Too many people seem to cry about 4 being so awful because Patricia Arquette didn't come back, ignoring that she has said 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 times that she doesn't like horror and doesn't want to do anything with horror and that is supposed to be the reason she didn't come back.
I hated the sequel. I thought strangers was such a terrifying movie, the pacing everything. I don’t know why they went with the slasher way for part 2.
i'm just hoping that these movies are as effective as the first one. the "because you were home" line always sent a tingle to my butthole and it makes them even scarier that they have no real motive behind who they invade. i doubt it'll be the case, because everything has to be polished and pretty these days, but i think they should take it in a fucked up gritty 70's exploitation kind of route and invade the audiences comfort zones as well.
I'm hyped for this trilogy. But it seems really presumptuous to make it a trilogy that's already shot and ready to be released. That's a really Big Balls in your mouth move. I mean they have the fact that the franchise is fresh and liked in their favor but if the first one flops than they'll be sitting on straight to Shudder release sequels and will kill the entire franchise
@YourFavoriteWeapon18 oh no I definitely agree. I said Shudder on purpose because it would be their best hope for recovering any money lost of it does flop in theaters. It would probably do better on Shudder than Netflix or another streaming service. However I'm not sure which network actually has streaming rights. And I absolutely agree with you on the Creepshow and V/H/S series being really good. Shudder originals arent bad at all

@@WeWatchedAMovie maybe I need to re-watch tbh but I think I was expecting the first in terms of tone etc and they obvi didn’t go for that so I’ll do a second take
Here's my honest opinion after watching the clip. The first third of the clip seemed really boring and contrived. The main girl also felt unlikable. Not sure she has the acting chops. Not trying to rag on her but she is mainly known for a teeny bopper show. And I've seen some of that show, so yeah. Also, just a personal opinion (well I guess this all is) but I definitely don't share your view on her lips. They seem way too filled up. Just not my preference. Is it collagen they use for filler? It looks like that. But back to the clip. When that very understated girl voice came from the door asking for someone, I really liked that because it was unassuming. I also think the lack of context for the clip made me more interested, so who knows if it will be as intriguing in context. I think some of the creepiest stuff on RUclips are those ring camera slash surveillance videos showing strangers prowling and acting bizarre on other people's porches, so this felt a little like that. Didn't like seeing the figure come into frame behind her at the end, indicating someone was in the house. So, idk if I'll watch. Don't really care about the teeny bopper actress, and as far as the director's previous work, ANOES 4 is not my favorite movie. Not sure who is entirely responsible for that. The acting was terrible imo and the characters took a nose dive after the great ANOES 3. But that may have been a script thing. I know Robert Englund likes the time loop sequence from ANOES 4 but it's not anything special to me.
