“Let’s see you make a better movie” is a terrible argument, it doesn’t argue about the actual quality of a movie and is used when people don’t have have any way to back up their defense of a movie. Not to mention, people have the right to criticize a product, that doesn’t mean everyone single one of those people are going to know how to make a movie.
To me, the whole town looking suspicious is what ruined the whole movie for me. It ruins the mystique of the strangers who are supposed to be you know mysterious and unknown

@@samymucho5494 in a way, yes, because that’s what makes the original film scarier to me, because you have no idea why they are doing it at first, and then when they say “because you were home.” Makes us realize that they have no motive to kill those people, and are doing because why not. The town in the new movie, ruins this by making it look like the whole town act incredibly suspicious and creepy, making the audience think that “they are killing them because they hate outsiders.” Also, what do you mean by identity? Like the strangers themselves and their masks or no?
Yeah... The Strangers is supposed to be a story about a Psycho/Gang/Criminals. And actually the movie could still be in the same franchise even with a different Gang or Individual, as long as they can translate the story to fit what supposed to be the Strangers movie. There's so much potential, so much branch to go trough. And the concept of this trilogy is actually interesting, too bad that they didn't just created a dumb narrative, but also decided to make so much of it a wink, nudge, and point fingers to the 2008 film. Even the interview feels like they actually selling the 2008 movie rather than their own.
To give some benefit of the doubt, as someone that hasnt watched the movie and hearing the possible origin of the strangers: As 3C has said there have been documentaries of those same motivations being the case for killings and because of that it does add some amount realism to the home invasion situation. HOWEVER, the motivations of the cult are still boring (if that is going to end up being the motivation) they couldve made it at least interesting even if it got rid of the realistic depiction. Realistically though I think if they hadnt done this idea and rather just made one more movie, making it a true trilogy, i think it wouldve still done better than this. I don't know if they would've continued from where 'Prey at Night' left off or done a seperate story but that ultimately would've been a better story. Kind of giving an anthalogy feel to the series

But I agree it wasn’t good, but no where near as bad as The Strangers Chapter One. Whilst Tarot is ranked number 8 on my list as it was a lot better than the other two. (Seen 22 movies in cinema so far this year). But then again Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 is number 9 on my 2024 cinema movie ranking list, so my opinions maybe debatable.

The Strangers: Chapter 1 is ranked as my third most hated movie I seen in cinema of 2024, I will be watching Chapter 2&3 in hopes there is any improvements. I may as well just see where it goes, even though I was very disappointed. (My second most hated movie was Civil War, and my most hated movie being The Mean Girls Musical).

You said its been done before if they go in that direction but you love scream 6 which their reveal has been done for so many times and is very cliche. A parent or family out for revenge. They redid basically scream 2, the house of sorority row, friday the 13th, sick, prom night, friday the 13th part V, etc. i usually agree with your videos but i feel like u absolutely tear apart this film piece by piece when the other two movies aren’t that good either.
My biggest complaint of scream 6 is the reveal. I said it in my review & further rant about it in my spoiler review. it was so close to being a perfect scream movie if it wasn’t for the last 20mins. While the strangers chapter 1 was bad beginning to end
The concept of the movie is so simple that the smallest things can ruin it they should of started the movie from the ending of the first one and kinda tell the story from the killers pov ( not really telling their story but seeing how they specifically pick their next victims) and shift the focus back to our protagonist surviving the night once a little more insight was provided on the killers process #justmaybe
My husband and i usually agree with you on a lot of things but, while this was just a rehash of the origianl one and didnt really need to be made, we didnt think it was that bad. Didn't think it was great but we enjoyed it and we are looking forward to the new one
The Strangers ended with The Strangers: Prey at Night. This new trilogy is not canon to those first 2 films. Just a Blumhouse copycat reboot continuity. Chapter 1 was literally just a shot for shot remake of the original Strangers movie.
I think this film is getting unnecessary hate. Is it as good as the original? Definitely not. That film can’t be touched. With that said, this was a well made film and it definitely made me tense up and got me to jump a few times. I know, I’m probably in the minority. I am with Halloween Ends, too. I like that film, as well LOL
Hey Chris! I don’t think the picture of Madeline is straight after the events of the first one. Chapter one ends with her hair tied up and her in jeans and a sweater. In the new pic she is in a hospital gown and a military coat so I think she escapes the hospital and runs through the woods into somewhere
It all depends on the second movie. The first was just a retread to set up the rest. Sadly though I do think it’s incredibly obvious that the motives will be. The couple are clearly the strangers and the town don’t want them there. Not sure about a cult. Might just hate out of towers. I told my bf all of this before I even saw chapter 1. I hope they surprise me.
That is how movies used to be made, without fans involvement. As fans they just enjoyed it or they didn't. We used to get one movie poster the year the movie was coming out, and maybe one to two TV spots leading up to its release. Talk about a slow burn LOL

Maybe some people don't realize this is a remake, the original was a much better film than this one. The original was a lot more terrifying and a lot better character development. Besides changing a few little things they basically copied the original but not in a good way. I would encourage people to go watch the original, it actually was done not to many years ago. I qarantee you will like the original a lot more. The original is just so much better, a lot creepier and scarier and the ending was much better played out. You won't be disappointed.

I’m not gonna lie, this one was alright for me. Don’t get me wrong it has a lot of issues but it’s not the worst horror sequel/remake of the 2020s. I’d say it’s better than Jeepers Creepers Reborn, Texas Chainsaw 2022, Halloween ends, and I genuinely prefer it over Chucky Season 3. And for people to say they got the characters wrong, wasn’t that the point. If we got another movie about the 3 killing a random couple for no reason, then why remake it. WHATS the point of remaking it if you were gonna tell the same story? I think the new direction isn’t the worst thing.
I agree, I was very underwhelmed by this new Strangers movie, and I’m not looking forward to the other two, as you especially said, now that they are all done and in the can. They can’t take in to consideration fan feedback, something that the new Exorcist movie did and will hopefully correct in the sequel.
Not remotely interested in this trio of films after seeing breakdowns of Part 1. The original was grounded & fantastic, relied on the chemistry of the 2 leads - with the Strangers supposed to be just random people who killed, and felt genuinely realistic. This series sounds like a ripoff of the last Wrong Turn - which was essentially a religious cult but felt like a real scenario vs this mess.
I've bought all of them my favorite is prey at night. The new strangers chapter 1 is the same as the 2008 one with Liv Tyler which I'm watching now lol

Real talk people are missing the point of this movie. First off the plot is in the movie title.. the strangers… no more knows each other. Then when asked why are you doing this!? They respond saying “because you were here or home” the same way the night stalker killed people. He said “because there doors were unlocked” it’s a random killing. The point is shit happens and not knowing why is the worst part because that leaves no reasoning or explanation or ie.. prevention. I like the series it’s got heart. Plus I’d like to know who the hell Tamra is lol.
In my opinion, and i havent seen the new movie yet, but to be fair the people who made this for months, let us know that the first movie was a pretty much remake of the original movie and that the other 2 would expand upon that story and give us nore backstory to these movies. I think if we think of this as a reboot then it is fine. Imagine putting yourself into the shoes of someone who didnt see the oringinal, then is is it any good?
The thing about what made the original The Strangers so Iconic was that when it came out there was no social media at the time so it came outta nowhere so we all didn’t know what to expect and it was a horror movie about a very realistic situation that could happen of any couple alone in the middle of the woods and the lack of music adding to the eerie and creepiness to it all made it memorable it was a one off one time movie but of course you got the stans and fanatics 😂😂😂😂 I know these remakes where gonna be trash the trailers looked trash
The first chapter was so predictable and was just a modern vision of the original. I wanna believe chapter two will be better, but I'm not too sure about that. They have so much potential to make it their own!! Just don't copy exactly how the first one played out. Yes I know the girl "survived" somehow at the end, but cmon! That wasn't enough to thrill me. I'll give them a second chance..if the next one blows then it doesn't stand a chance for me.

I can’t believe that everyone talks about how bad the movie is but not how awful The Strangers redesigns look like. Why do the two women killers wear beanies?? That just looks really stupid and they just look like burglars when they wear beanies. Bag head man’s outfit looks like it’s heavily inspired by Jason Voorhees. I automatically knew that the redesigns would make a bad movie.
I was SORELY dissapointed by the acting in this. If they amp up the horror, MAYBE it can work but my buddy and I felt like it just dragged on and on. Liked it, don't get me wrong but come on!

My sister and I watched the original strangers movie like 6 times on a tv that was dark. We couldn't see anything going on but were still frightened by it😂😂😂. It was even better when we watched on a real TV. This one, however, i could probably watch with the strangers outside my door and not be scared😂😂

The Strangers could’ve been the modern versions of Michael Myers. Such a shame! Art the Clown is clearly modern Freddy Krueger, M3gan the modern Chucky, John Carver the modern Ghostface, and Johnny the modern Jason Voorhees.

People complain too much. I didn't see anything wrong with the movie. It was awesome and I can't wait to see more of these strangers. Not everything needs to be high brow with some deeper meaning. And the original movie isn't some holy grail either.

Not remotely interested in this trio of films after seeing breakdowns of Part 1. The original was grounded & fantastic, relied on the chemistry of the 2 leads - with the Strangers supposed to be just random people who killed, and felt genuinely realistic. This series sounds like a ripoff of the last Wrong Turn - which was essentially a religious cult but felt like a real scenario vs this mess.
Chris, what if one of the strangers is Jesus Christ? that would be a new twist on the cult.

Calling it Chapter 2 being the sequel will be either be the best in the trilogy or the worst
This is definitely a movie that I see a lot of people hating it and seeing a lot of people loving it
I've bought all of them my favorite is prey at night. The new strangers chapter 1 is the same as the 2008 one with Liv Tyler which I'm watching now lol

Pace wise it was kinda boring and lame but there were decent jump scares and stuff got me off guard but this was first horrible impression for a remake😭😭😭
Actually really enjoyed Chapter 1, not as good as the OG but it was what I was looking for. Nothing super complex and just a classic horror movie

Real talk people are missing the point of this movie. First off the plot is in the movie title..
the strangers… no more knows each other. Then when asked why are you doing this!? They respond saying “because you were here or home” the same way the night stalker killed people. He said “because there doors were unlocked” it’s a random killing. The point is shit happens and not knowing why is the worst part because that leaves no reasoning or explanation or ie.. prevention.
I like the series it’s got heart. Plus I’d like to know who the hell Tamra is lol.
If Richard Brake has a single line vs. just a shot of him in the diner in Part 1 , then yes I care. If he’s not in part 2 I will be SOO mad.
In my opinion, and i havent seen the new movie yet, but to be fair the people who made this for months, let us know that the first movie was a pretty much remake of the original movie and that the other 2 would expand upon that story and give us nore backstory to these movies. I think if we think of this as a reboot then it is fine. Imagine putting yourself into the shoes of someone who didnt see the oringinal, then is is it any good?
They did doll face dirty in chapter one. The blonde hair looked so much better
The thing about what made the original The Strangers so Iconic was that when it came out there was no social media at the time so it came outta nowhere so we all didn’t know what to expect and it was a horror movie about a very realistic situation that could happen of any couple alone in the middle of the woods and the lack of music adding to the eerie and creepiness to it all made it memorable it was a one off one time movie but of course you got the stans and fanatics 😂😂😂😂 I know these remakes where gonna be trash the trailers looked trash
The first chapter was so predictable and was just a modern vision of the original. I wanna believe chapter two will be better, but I'm not too sure about that. They have so much potential to make it their own!! Just don't copy exactly how the first one played out. Yes I know the girl "survived" somehow at the end, but cmon! That wasn't enough to thrill me. I'll give them a second chance..if the next one blows then it doesn't stand a chance for me.

“Let’s see you make a better movie” there are literally fan made films that actually utilize the mysterious and creepy elements of The Strangers. Didn’t see Chapter One and I have no interest in Chapter Two

I can’t believe that everyone talks about how bad the movie is but not how awful The Strangers redesigns look like. Why do the two women killers wear beanies?? That just looks really stupid and they just look like burglars when they wear beanies. Bag head man’s outfit looks like it’s heavily inspired by Jason Voorhees. I automatically knew that the redesigns would make a bad movie.
they should have just made a sequel to prey at night instead of a horrible prequel/remake

I was SORELY dissapointed by the acting in this. If they amp up the horror, MAYBE it can work but my buddy and I felt like it just dragged on and on. Liked it, don't get me wrong but come on!

I think they’ll kill her off half way into the movie and then switch victims and then chapter 3 we’ll see the stranger’s origin story

Chapter 1 just seems like a lazy reboot that completely misses what made the first movie so good. Doesn't even feel like it's in the same universe lol idk
My sister and I watched the original strangers movie like 6 times on a tv that was dark. We couldn't see anything going on but were still frightened by it😂😂😂. It was even better when we watched on a real TV. This one, however, i could probably watch with the strangers outside my door and not be scared😂😂
I didnt like the strangers chapter 1 but what modern day film is actually scary thats come out in the last 4 years i cant actually think of one maybe im immune because ive watched so many horror films but i cant think of one where its actually scary
8*3 = 24...8*4=32. So quadruple it's budget is better assesment.

The Strangers could’ve been the modern versions of Michael Myers. Such a shame! Art the Clown is clearly modern Freddy Krueger, M3gan the modern Chucky, John Carver the modern Ghostface, and Johnny the modern Jason Voorhees.
I mean I thought chapter 1 was okay. It should’ve been scarier, the chapter 1-3 idea is so bad. What’s the point of watching when we know she’s the main character and survives all 3 movies? It just felt lame…I don’t see myself liking the next 2, I honestly think this one im gonna enjoy more.
Such an unnecessary remake.
Even the outfits suck like come on the whole appeal of the designs where them fitting their maskes unlike these just looking like dollar tree RZ myers 😂.
P.s the mystery behind the strangers is what made them interesting smh.

I've never been a fan of these movies. They always felt kind of lazy and unoriginal. It's just not my cup of tea. I'm kind of baffled why anyone thought this trilogy of films would be good?
Not knocking anyone's taste but. This series has never been above a 4.5/10 to me.

People complain too much. I didn't see anything wrong with the movie. It was awesome and I can't wait to see more of these strangers. Not everything needs to be high brow with some deeper meaning. And the original movie isn't some holy grail either.
It’s a good horror if this is the first horror you have ever seen. The original is near perfect to me. But hey I respect your opinion
