    On the Hawks/Knicks Cross over show, Brad asked him....If the Daniels takes Brunson out of the game offensively... what will the Knicks do for offense?
    You could tell from the look on his face that he didn't really take that scenario seriously at all. But he answered the question to play along. But in his head, he was like lol😂😂 that will never happen.
    He said something to the fact that Towns will take over.
    Well, Daniels did exactly that. Towns couldn't take over, and the Knicks had no answers whatsoever. The Hawks turned off the water, the lights, heat, gas... everything. It got real 🧊 in the Garden real fast

    Hunter coming off the bench is working because he and Bogi become the primary scorers of the Bench and don't have to defer to anyone and just focus on scoring. And the 1st unit is clicking because Dyson and Riz don't always need to have the ball to be effective because they're getting their touches thru cutting and effectively playing off the ball and getting open shots. Plus their defense compliments Trae effectively. Also having 4 starters that can play make can be a hard match up.

    Like what I'm seeing, especially from Trae, so much so that Im very close to retiring the Iso-Trae moniker altogether. Whereas Ive been hyper critical of his play in the past, it seems hes maturing this year beyond the idiosyncrasies that seemed to lead to high turnovers and wasted offensive possessions.
    What is deemed sub-par stat lines for him are actually numbers that equate to winning basketball as a team. Less attempts, less scoring, MOVING OFF BALL equates to more involvement by others and more scoring from other players. Keep it up Tre, you are NOW leading the team, not in scoring but in winning.
    Seeing Dre play out of his mind off the bench tells me he is free in his mind to just be Dre. Before he felt the pressure to be THAT GUY, he couldn't produce consistently under the gun. Now he is looking like hes just enjoying basketball and theres no pressure, hes playing like a beast! He could be up for 6th man of the year if he can extrapolate this over the season.
    Love the depth and love the emergence of Jalen Johnson, THAT guy IS the allstar that is establishing himself as the center piece of this team. Keep going Hawks!

    The double edged sword to this whole thing is Trae’s health. He’s missing some juice in his game. He doesn’t have the same burst going down hill. It seems to be effecting his shot and his finishing around the rim. But on the other hand it has turned him into more of a tactician. He’s picking his spots and facilitating which has allowed the guys around him to step up and play bigger roles which bodes well for us going forward. However, for us to really be competitive we need Trae to be this guy but still have the juice to be him when the offense is sputtering and in big moments.

    I like Vit Krejci but I don't need to see him against the Bucks or really at all for the rest of this season until someone gets injured. I don't know what he does better than Kobe Bufkin. I think he's a worse defender, a worse dribbler, a worse passer, a worse shooter, a worse finisher. Sure he's bigger and maybe he's slightly more switchable and a better rebounder, but when you miss the easy put backs on the offensive boards you do get, I don't think the rebounding is all that important.

    • @MrSmoothbass
      @MrSmoothbass 11 дней назад +3

      I hear you. They are both even though. They both have a small amount of time to make an impact on the floor and when Bufkin was in against Milwaukee, he got blocked at the rim 3 straight times. Got to make a better impression than that to steadily get those minutes. When we are healthy, our rotation shrinks and its going to be match up based until one or the other solidifies the role coaches want or need

      @@MrSmoothbass Brook Lopez is the 2nd leading blocker in the league. It happens sometimes. Plus I think he got fouled pretty clearly on one of those, should've been 2 shots. I thought his (Bufkin's) defense was impressive in that game and previous games too. I just think I like him better than Vit in the event that Dyson dies on a screen and they have to switch onto Dame, and Vit is just a 0 in terms of shot creation off the dribble whereas Bufkin is somewhat capable of creating.
      At this point we're probably going to see Vit next game, so I'm willing to have my mind changed. Maybe he can play some good defense on AJ Green or something. But I don't think he's been very good in any of the games he's played lately and I'm not seeing growth.

I haven’t even really noticed any flashes with him. Vit has had many games going back to last season where not only did he show flashes but he had actual good impactful games. Tell me one game where Bufkin has done that?

    Braking News! Dyson’s younger bro Dash just signed his first Pro contact at the age of 16 with Melbourne United in the top league NBL. He will be on a “next star” program that is deigned specifically to get Aussie and young Ballers world wide to show their shit! They play as kids against big body pros that don’t hold back. It’s a near perfect fast tracked environment that feeds their confidence and rapid growth as a baller!
    Recent graduates include Lamello Ball, Alex Sarr, Josh Gidday and about five to six other prospects. And he as a six six frame at 16 he’s got every chance to add to his hight and frame. Interestingly he is already has a dog defense attitude on the D but is tracking to be a really, really good offensive PG. The folks in the know down Bendigo way say that he is an absolute gun. At 16?
    Remember that name! Dash Daniels! He could be in the real life movie of the Incredibles. 🤔

    I don't mean to imply this was a flukey win, but the whistle the Knicks got in the 2nd half was pretty bad, especially for the home team. This game probably could've been a lot closer if it were called a little better. I'm not gonna beat us up over it, we endured years of getting a terrible whistle.

    • @MrSmoothbass
      @MrSmoothbass 11 дней назад

      I noticed that too but the refs let them play. For once it was refreshing to see the game played a little physical. You can tell the players were waiting for whistles that they were accustomed to getting

    • @anb8946
      @anb8946 11 дней назад

      @@MrSmoothbass Agreed. I think something changed in the refs minds after the challenge because they had to go over and watch Dyson play pristine defense in slow motion and realize they called a terrible terrible foul.
      Still, OG got smacked in the face by Dre right in front of a referee, Dyson tipped a ball that seemed likely to be over the cylinder, and I just think there were a few too many instances of the refs swallowing their whistles throughout that half.
      Knicks were definitely flustered more than the Hawks which is good for us, I don't like a team that is whistle-reliant or crying to the referees every possession.

    I understand Dre coming off the bench to bolster the second unit has been working unbelievably well, but can we not get married to the idea that he should be playing 6-man minutes? He hasn't played more than 33 minutes a single time all season, usually hovers right around 28 minutes and is still putting up 20+ a game. It's a long season and I'm all for staying with what's working, but I would've hoped in a playoff-like game he could've broken into the 35 minute range.
