I love discovering these films. There are so many great films which are just forgotten or have been just lost for no reason.

As a kid when Seems Like Old Times would come on cable and I didn't know what it was, I thought it was sequel to Foul Play.
Seems Like Old Times is one of my favorite comedies! I loved it!
Agreed. Underappreciated classic. Hilarious throughout. One of Chase's best. Great cast.

Charles Grodin was hysterical in the movie with DeNiro! Both of them with their bantering back and forth. The movie is Midnight Run. Charles Grodin was also hysterical whenever was on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. 🌸
That movie was the only time DeNiro was funny. I'd have to give credit to Grodin for that. Their chemistry was super.👍

I loved Seems like Old Times! Sigh. Grodin especially is so underrated in that.

The ending is still in the back of my mind. When she hugs him, it just kills me every time. This is also an accurate depiction of the duality of this power she has. She has to deal with this as a gift, and a curse. This is a seriously under appreciated movie.

Unforgettable performances by Burstyn and the Legendary Eva LaGalliene as her Grandmother and another beautiful performance by that old codger Richard Farnsworth...it's that relationship that goes full circle

The ending is a tearjerker, but it's not schmaltz..it's well earned , it's something to aspire to

I liked the Jazz singer with Neil Diamobd. I saw it on TV when I was young. It's more of a TV movie than a theater one. Loved the music in it.
I like that they switched up the format a little for the holidays here by including Christmas season recommendations at the end. Raging Bull would, of course, come to be remembered as a classic.
Boy, did they get this one wrong! This is a charming and very funny movie that I loved since I was little. Three great comic actors at the top of their form.
Laurence Olivier is one of the Great English Speaking Actors, I wish he'd try an English Accent again

Seems Like Old Times is a guilty pleasure - just so much fun and silly! (: Resurrection has two great Oscar-nominated performances. The Jazz Singer was a snoozefest. Haven't seen the other movie.
hm. I wonder whether or not Bo Derek and the other young person get together by the end after Shirley McClaine and Anthony Hopkins realize they love each other more and have more in common and mutual yaaawwwwn
I read that Barbra Streisand talked Neil into doing that role ala A Star is Born a few years earlier.. Big mistake, but I loved the songs, especially Love on the Rocks..

What the hey? Seems Like Old Times is an absolute classic! Holy crap I keep forgetting how much I hated Siskel and Ebert.
I didn't think the jazz singer was as bad as what these guys said. Yes Neil Diamond seemed disconnected from the other actors but I think his character was meant to be that way.
yeah Ebert really blasted the music but he wasn`t a music critic....it was ok watch on HBO....
You know, when you stop to think about it, The Jazz Singer is a pretty bad concept and pretty intolerant also. The original would have been nothing without Al Jolson's ad libs -- which is what everyone remembers about it anyway. And this one would have been worthless absent Neil Diamond's soundtrack, which is still pretty good.
And Jerry Lewis also appeared in a TV version, which was released on DVD a while back -- and that's pretty pathetic because Lewis never takes his films seriously and usually plays a variant of his Kid character in any case. I just don't know what is it about this 12th century story that appeals to filmmakers.

"I hef no son!" And, we hef no good film. Yup, good choice, Sir Laurence. I did and, still, like the soundtrack, however. Too bad, the film was dreck.
Why the hell do people hate Jazz Singer? It was an amazing film with a great soundtrack and what should have been an Oscar nominated performance for Neil Diamond. Also that ending when he reunites with his father makes me cry everytime.
Seems like Old times is hilarious... one of tjr best for Chase snd the best for Hawn.....
Seems Like Old Times is horrid. Not even funny when you're drunk and that's the only way a movie this lame could be funny. Saw it in a theater when it came out and I was not amused. Tried again on cable and still too stupid.
It wasn't that bad, there were a few funny scenes, His hand being stepped on while under the bed was very funny

Gene Siskel had the worst takes ever. Dude is up here citing comedies of the 1930s and 1940s...ridiculous. Seems Like Old Times was an awesome movie.
They didn't really care for Chevy Chase in general. Although I think they gave thumbs up to both Fletch and even Funny Farm!
Ebert gave "Fletch" his 2 and 1/2 stars thumbs down review Siskel liked it a lot
The Jazz Singer was first remade in 1952 with Danny Thomas. Why didn't they mention that? Resurrection should be a CLASSIC...Great movie.
