This was an interesting match to see because Fuudo said in an Evo interview that of the top 8 who he feared facing most was Tokido and I think it clearly shows here that Tokido could give him a run for his money. Tokido made a few costly errors and a few times where he guessed right but didn't get his punish. Either way the matches were all-around terrific and I love watching Fuudo and Tokido play. Fuudo is such a smart player it's incredible watching him.
@Natsumeii I think both are used and that his name means 'hoody' or something because he wore his hoody cap while playing Virtua Fighter (huudo) and they also spell it as 'fuudo' for some reason. I think it has to do with 'food'.
also I'm sure you know this, but this is for everyone who doesn't. His name is fuudo now, as people would often confuse the character used for huudo as food i.e fuudo. from what i remember he ended changing his name to fuudo because he was either getting annoyed or thought it would be easier for everyone to say his name correctly.
@LoadedKlip Yea, it's a lil weird because of the Japanese translation. It represents ‘hu’, although for phonological reasons, the actual pronunciation is ‘fu’. "Hu" and "Fu" are the same, but in Japanese class, they teach you to say "Fu", not "Hu", that's why he uses one for Japan and another name outside of Japan. So yea, he should just keep Huudo even if ppl haven't seen "Hu" in the hiragana alphabet.
@relysaa He wants his name to be Hood, not Food because he plays with his hoodie on in the arcades. I dunno why he just doesn't keep it "Hu" and changes it is "Fu"... he's confusing people hahaha
@iammichael Either way ... it should be spelled only one way. So which one is it officially? Cuz this is a japanese tournament and they are spelling it with an H instead of an F.
Watch the interview of huudo/fuudo by Zhi of CC. They talk about how his name came about. Basically it's really huudo because of the hood he wears in the game centers.
@MrTatsubei ultra two comes out much faster making it easier for punish on reaction plus it counters cross ups on wakeup that u would never use with ultra one. also an anti air with ultra 1 does not get full animation meaning barely any damage while ultra 2 does alot
@EmoDKTsuchiya i know u can do chicken wing counters, but only a few characters have them ( bison, viper, dhalsim, ryu, ibuki, and i think a few others). Many moves are punishable, but the fact that some characters need ultra/super just to punish a move someone spams 70% of the time is pretty ridiculous. and it becomes a mixup of which move fei will spam on wakeup. that doesn't feel like high level play at all.
@ultracool22 i agree with u buddy, some of my friends say fei long is OP but they never said that before in SUPER only when capcom decided to buff every character's normals that's when he became beta not OP coz fei is a spacing and footsie type of player therefore every counter hit is damaging now in AE, before no one complained.
Judging from the skill level in this tournament and due to the fact that Fuudo won this one. It's no fluke that he also won EVO as well. Players in this Japan tournament are a lot more scarier.
@ultracool22 You contradicted yourself, you said he got insane buffs but then said he is still the same. Fei long is OP because he deals a lot of damage like akuma but has decent health and he has a way of getting around most characters main assets like sagats tiger shot zoning. It's like the fighting game world wants Bruce lee incarnations to be top tier; Fei long is top tier, Marshall law in tekken is top tier and I think I heard Liu kang is top tier in Mortal kombat but im not sure
@xxleronexx most ppls escape moves are very punishable if predicted, or have easy OS's to catch them (like teleports). There's not that much technology to beat chicken wing bc it's pretty safe, and it is used to get in AND out. I don't feel Fei is OP, but definitely top tier.
@Islandinthesun87 Come up with a chicken wing counter. Tokido used his at 3:30(Demon will catch the CW when Fei lands) but unfortunately for him, Fuudo did not do a chicken wing.
@JohnQueerTheCyr you do realize the reason he seems so OP is not because he got insane buffs, its because his bad matchups got nerfed, he is still the same, just seems stronger because a lot of other people are weaker...hi ryu
@jason24cf You're on point...its not like Fei Long the character had anything special or out of the ordinary...it was Fuudo playing safely and punishing any mistakes that Tokido made and vice versa...all of the matches were close...its not like Fuudo did combos that take off a third of the life bar or something....and you're right, Tokido just retreated to the corner unfortunately and made himself an easier target...Fei is far from OP..i remember this talk about Ryu as well..
@TheGoogel i never said he got insane buffs, i was just trying to quote john, besides I don't even care that much, it isn't like i'm in the tournaments, i just play online, if i lose whatever, if i win whatever. I just feel that people spend too much time complaining about a character and want them nerfed rather than trying to find a way to beat them, fei long isn't exactly unbeatable, you just have to spend some time practicing the matchup.
When I see Fuudo play, for some reason Im always left wondering "what the heck happened? why did the other guy hand him the win by doing (insert huge mistake here)?" For some reason, I always felt Mago had the more fearsome Fei. Not saying Fuudo isnt good, he's on a helluva win streak lately, but it always seems like the other guy chokes.
@azarel7 Fuudo didnt use U2 so Tokido could have went nuts with Akumas vortex. But after a few knock downs he backed off and gave up the corner again. Look at how well Tokido was punishing rekkas on block, yet everyone else cries about it. People get better go to training stage and see how you can punish it. st.lp beats a rekka because of hitboxes as well as mid screen cw. The only hit on CW with priority is the 2st hit the next 2 are ass! Also cr.mk also makes cw whiff for a big punish.
@ultracool22 Fei's been one of the strongest in supers, he got buffs for no fucking reason. Even with the nerfs in 2012, he'll be one of the best characters still.
Jesus these Godsgarden tournaments are no joke. Probably the sickest SF4 play I've ever seen.
@HoraceTheCat
well tournament is called Godsgarden
with a name like that, its not hard to believe its no joke
@LikeClockwerk but i heard that the u1 counters the sames attacks that the u2 does (plus projectiles)
@TheNoobKiller super is a 0 frame grab though, im not to sure though havent tried punishing chicken wing myself.
This was an interesting match to see because Fuudo said in an Evo interview that of the top 8 who he feared facing most was Tokido and I think it clearly shows here that Tokido could give him a run for his money. @oGH057o
hes talking about the typo they made with the name above the character health bar.
Ouch, what a heartbreaking loss. Great plays on both player's parts.
also I'm sure you know this, but this is for everyone who doesn't. His name is fuudo now, as people would often confuse the character used for huudo as food i.e fuudo. from what i remember he ended changing his name to fuudo because he was either getting annoyed or thought it would be easier for everyone to say his name correctly.
Three fantastic matches! Really could have gone either way in a lot of those rounds!
@SheltonShenanigans Hard and EX Chicken wing are 0 on block, so it's not reversal punishable.
@kamenriderfan1 where is this glitch that your talking about? I analyzed the whole video and didn't catch a thing?
Does anyone know if there is a way to make the NA version of Street Fighter 4 say "Gouki" instead of "Akuma"?
@Raffael900me i think you mean tokido.. tokido sweeps instead of h dp at the end of the combo because it applies more stun.
can anyone tell me one advantage fei long's ultra 2 has over 1?
@ViciousDeliciousIV It comes the english word food or something. Japanese mispronunciation: huudo. check his EVO interview on CCtv with Zhi.
the crowd made this match so much better
@Baqsam99 In Japanese, the letter ふ is pronounced interchangeably as 'fu' or 'hu'. Similar to how L's and R's get mixed up
@ObArRaGeX probably only through editing PC version game files.
@DoucheFagX
Well, he got his ID because he wears a hoodie.
Huudo sounds a bit closer to how the Japanese pronounce it anyhow.
has there even been a street fighter competitive match like this in which a glitch occured?
why does he sweep instead of H DP? it does like 30 or 50 more dammage forgot
@MrTatsubei If it's available to use it will make the opponent wary of crossing you up or getting a meaty hit in.
@Raffael900me Who? Fuudo? He does sweep for untechable knockdown.
@LoadedKlip Yea, it's a lil weird because of the Japanese translation. It represents ‘hu’, although for phonological reasons, the actual pronunciation is ‘fu’. "Hu" and "Fu" are the same, but in Japanese class, they teach you to say "Fu", not "Hu", that's why he uses one for Japan and another name outside of Japan. what is that frog sponsers name
@relysaa He wants his name to be Hood, not Food because he plays with his hoodie on in the arcades. I dunno why he just doesn't keep it "Hu" and changes it is "Fu"... he's confusing people hahaha
@Daren2007 Where did he say this?
@iammichael Either way ... it should be spelled only one way. So which one is it officially? Cuz this is a japanese tournament and they are spelling it with an H instead of an F.
why tokido uses a sweeper kick after a light hurricane? ill shoryuken everytime..
seriously this is even better then EVO all the matches are fucking epic
What does it mean MCZ???
3:09
that synchronicity
Watch the interview of huudo/fuudo by Zhi of CC. They talk about how his name came about. Basically it's really huudo because of the hood he wears in the game centers.
What an incredible match!
why is it huudo and not fuudo?
@GodzzzSon not for stun, its an untech-knockdown. Gives him more time to think
in japanese "fu" can either be romanized as hu or fu
@MrTatsubei ultra two comes out much faster making it easier for punish on reaction plus it counters cross ups on wakeup that u would never use with ultra one. also an anti air with ultra 1 does not get full animation meaning barely any damage while ultra 2 does alot
gooooood match.. my two fav players
Excellent match!
Huudo?
amazing comeback first round
2:08 those pair of eyes tokido has, I thought he was gonna murder me.
@EmoDKTsuchiya i know u can do chicken wing counters, but only a few characters have them ( bison, viper, dhalsim, ryu, ibuki, and i think a few others). what is that suppose to mean
There is in not understanding conventions and trying to cal out other people on it, incorrectly.
i just realized it says "huudo" instead of fuudo
@ultracool22 i agree with u buddy, some of my friends say fei long is OP but they never said that before in SUPER only when capcom decided to buff every character's normals that's when he became beta not OP coz fei is a spacing and footsie type of player therefore every counter hit is damaging now in AE, before no one complained.

So is his name Huudo or Fuudo?
Rekka's by Fei Long.
Punish everything with the sweet scent of safeness... Out now.
Very simple Chicken Wing counter, Ultra 2 to catch it mid flight or Super to punish on block
Is this Tokido in his early days?
This is an exciting match, holy shit.
Who the hell is Huudo?
Is it fuudo or huudo?
@ultracool22 You contradicted yourself, you said he got insane buffs but then said he is still the same. Fei long is OP because he deals a lot of damage like akuma but has decent health and he has a way of getting around most characters main assets like sagats tiger shot zoning. To set up vortex but he never really capitalized on it like he normally would.
Nice juggle at the end.
@xxleronexx most ppls escape moves are very punishable if predicted, or have easy OS's to catch them (like teleports). There's not that much technology to beat chicken wing bc it's pretty safe, and it is used to get in AND out. I don't feel Fei is OP, but definitely top tier.
Fuudo is AMAZING!, THE ONE PLAYER IN SSF4-AE
@kankerturk123 so said the guy with T- Pain in his youtube avatar ^_^
@PowerStunna lol wut?
Great match !!! I expected Fuudo to lose...He said Tokido is one of the fighters he feared most...Fei doesn't match up well at all with Akuma.
the best match i ever saw
@fsmelo87 I was thinking the same thing. OP Fei vs any shoto (even Akuma) should be an insta-win. he dominated at EVO, but again, we'll see.
thanks, when do i get my award?
amazing
actually its because koreans don't have an 'f' sound so they switch it with an 'h'. When i was in korea the orange fanta drinks were spelled hanta :)
@jason24cf
You're on point...its not like Fei Long the character had anything special or out of the ordinary...it was Fuudo playing safely and punishing any mistakes that Tokido made and vice versa...all of the matches were close...its not like Fuudo did combos that take off a third of the life bar or something....and you're right, Tokido just retreated to the corner unfortunately and made himself an easier target...Fei is far from OP..i remember this talk about Ryu as well..
SSSSOOOOO HYPE!

@JuriQOA MCZ = Madcatz
TTC = The Traveling Circus
Tokido's sponsors
@DiscPriestHeals Yeah, playing a S-tier character is not that hard, isnt it ???
vortex man. can net you a ton more damage than a shoryuken if you do it right
also, there's no "hu" in japanese, only a "fu"
i cried out "NOOOOOO" when Tokido kept on wasting his ultra
Nine month old comment, made by a stranger to another stranger, and god damn it felt so satisfying even to me lol good work.
quite a tense match
Playing as fei requires a lot of technique... and patience...
Lol at Mago comforting Tokido
1:53 WHAT A PUNISH
1:52 Moments of Epic comeback.
Fuudo is the best in tha world ! period
Hong Kongs 3 Assassins... Yang, Yun, and Fei Long...
@xchanstar oh
lol my bad, but the same reason applies; japanese doesn't have an easy way to pronounce f either ;)
Wingardium Leviosa!
When I see Fuudo play, for some reason Im always left wondering "what the heck happened? why did the other guy hand him the win by doing (insert huge mistake here)?" For some reason, I always felt Mago had the more fearsome Fei. Not saying Fuudo isnt good, he's on a helluva win streak lately, but it always seems like the other guy chokes.
he doesn't look like harry potter at all
@azarel7 Fuudo didnt use U2 so Tokido could have went nuts with Akumas vortex. But after a few knock downs he backed off and gave up the corner again. Look at how well Tokido was punishing rekkas on block, yet everyone else cries about it. @ultracool22 very well said... i also think that way... ^_^
@ultracool22 Fei's been one of the strongest in supers, he got buffs for no fucking reason. Even with the nerfs in 2012, he'll be one of the best characters still.
Ahh, you're right.
6:55 INSANE DAMAGE
fuudo best fei hands down
its actually "Huudo" :/
