Getting ready to retire and want to do this again , a little slower but the brain is ready and willing , just an old soldier trying to be young again. To the guys doing this hold on as long to this adventure , you are doing right.
Gorgeous footage guys! I remember trips like this with my friends in Colorado when I was in my 20’s. What’s great about it is we’re all in our fifties and although 25+ years have passed we still remember details about particular trips like they happened the other day. It’s special...all of it. I hope it will be for you all 25+ years later. The good news is now that I’m a dad and have kids, I get to relive these spots with them in the summer! I can tell them most of the stories (not all) about a certain spot or event while we hike in, fish, or camp. In the mean time, I look forward to more of your vids. The camera work really is great and captures the essence of the moment.
My_Piscatorial_Pursuits Glad to see you enjoyed it! One of the biggest reasons we make these videos is so we can look back on these times and relive them; they will serve us well 25 years from now
Hi Mason, just saw your reply. This is Kennedy lake in the Emigrant wilderness. It’s about a 11 mile hike out of Kennedy Meadows (Hwy 108 - Sonora Pass). In the video where it shows the 2 peaks behind the lake, my son and I climbed the one on the right (Big Sam). Kicked my butt! Was totally amazing 😉
wow that is beautiful makes me miss the summertime and spring for fly fishing because im in canada. i still do it even though the guides are freezing the line is freezing and the fish is slow i mananged to catch 5 brown trout since the begining of november. and i fish in the middle of a big city where people dont know theres trout . the people who fly fish are extremely rare
Planning a trip back to the Sierras as soon as flights open up again! What is the name of the trail and where is the head?! Absolutely stunning, looks like an incredible place for some peace and quiet
Thank you good sir! While they are not native, this place is one of the only places we know above 8000 feet where browns can flirt with the 20 inch mark. It truly is a special place
Le rêve quoi et les amis avec et moi je me bat contre la maladie depuis 3 ans et ce combat je fais tout pour le gagner . Alors poster des vidéos de vos sorties. Merci pour ces belles vidéos cela m'aide
I played Lord Huron's song on one tab, and muted your video while watching on another. Problem solved ;-) The first time I watched it a while back, that song really set the mood. Been there many times, and climbed the peaks in the background with my son :-)
Awesome man! Yes unfortunately we had to switch the song, don't know why it became an issues several years later but it's all good! Thanks for watching
Same here! I grew up running around, camping, hiking, backpacking, snow skiing, dirt bike riding, horse riding, 4X4 driving, gold panning, fly fishing (mostly fly fishing) the Sierras from Lake Tahoe down to the Kern River Canyon, east-side and west-side. I do miss them dearly!!! There is no other mountain range quite like the Sierras, especially above the 10K foot elevation line. I live in the Washington Cascades now. It is amazingly beautiful here, but the Sierras will always be my mountains of home. This video sure did capture it. My heart is still there.
Moved out of California, I miss the Sierra's, I packed the Golden Trout Wilderness and flyfished for the Golden gems that live there. Also fished the lower ,upper Owens in the winter months, Hot Creek, East walker, and beyond. These are closer to population but are packed with wild trout. Love the Sierra's. World class Flyfishing. I have fished throughout the west, will always journey back until I can't. Getting up in the years.when my journey ends I will be dust in the wind in the beautiful Eastern Sierra's. ☮️.
Absolutely gorgeous. I worry that with the way humans are multiplying as they breed like rabbits, that in 200 years when this population is at 70 Billion, places like this wont exist anymore
Boy n Girls, don't even THINK of asking where they are. They think their being GENEROUS enough by telling you it's the Western side of Sierras.. It's a shame really but that's all you're going to get out of em... One tip is it's over 8000ft. Search from there and good luck.
Without giving away the exact location, can I ask what month this was filmed in? The summer window has to be pretty short in the High Sierras. Amazing footage, looks like an unforgettable trip. Thanks for posting
Wow, I just pulled up this vide for the specific reason of saving it permanently. Absolutely a bummer that Lord Huron blocked the original song, as that really made your film so special for me. Regardless, you guys knocked it out of the park with this one and I thank you for the enjoyment!!
If I may ask, what area of California do you live in? I've watched several of your videos now and recognize all of the waters you fish. Perhaps we may have even ran into each other out on the trail. Great video, keep them coming!

Thank you sir for your wisdom, have yourself a great day.
I’m right behind ya! I can’t wait to see country like that. God willing!
Good company and scenery. Fishing is just icing on the cake. My hope for heaven. 😁
I retire in about 36 months- I can’t wait to do this. Absolutely heaven !!!
I do similar hiking ,camping and fly fishing trips in the mountains of NW Scotland.
Beautiful video
Man that river looks amazing for fly fishing.

Shane McCoy thank you, ive heard of wd40 but i didnt do it to not damage my line
Great video with super editing and music. This looks like God's country. Oh, yes, the brown trout were fun to look at too.
Robert S Glad you liked the video! It is extremely difficult to leave this place; running out of food kind of forces you to though!
Best video ever, IMO. What is the name of the song? Thanks.
Hmm almost looks like the west fork Carson river-ish but I could be wrong ;) amazing video!
😳... hermoso lugar 😍 saludos
This is a beautiful movie :)
Superbe site ! 🤩🤩👍

What a great video! It's a shame some place that remote and beautiful has non-native trout. I love the quality of your filming!
Thank you good sir! While they are not native, this place is one of the only places we know above 8000 feet where browns can flirt with the 20 inch mark. It truly is a special place
Awesome video, it really captures the feeling of a trip like that! I've dreamed of fishing an alpine meadow stream like that my whole life.
Great video!
Great video
Nice video

Chris Beland Ends of the Earth by Lord Huron!
Chris Beland thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed I️t!
One of the best all around fly fishing videos I've seen, great job man, keep putting em out
Happy Easter

Nice!
Great video. Moved out of CA a few years back and the only thing I miss are Sierras
scarney19 They are very unique; summertime in the Sierras is just as special as it is in any other famous mountain range
Same here! @@russellfraser9826...I would love to rest at Devil's Post Pile...
Well done!
Very well done. Beautiful remote country. Too bad the native fish are no longer there.
Nonewhere Listens where is this
great video, do you also fish the dry fly too there ?
Yes, I would say we catch half the fish there on dries!
Absolutely gorgeous. I worry that with the way humans are multiplying as they breed like rabbits, that in 200 years when this population is at 70 Billion, places like this wont exist anymore
Yep. Just the thing. Bust your ass to get up into the backcountry and some peace and quiet amidst nature and here comes a f******g drone.
Such a beautiful place with clear water! Shame you couldn't do dry flies 😉 #dod
anyone have any tips on finding and navigating through backcountry of colorado to find fish?
Awesome
I've been trying to find some good streams to dry fly fish, where were you guys fishing at?
Western Sierras :)
Boy n Girls, don't even THINK of asking where they are. They think their being GENEROUS enough by telling you it's the Western side of Sierras..

It was in early August! Thanks for the support.
I love the music... Great video.. what state are you in?
This is in California
Where exactly is this in the Sierras?
Plumas County. That's our one hint ;)

Email us at chiggsy27@gmail.com and we will try to upload the original we have saved on our hard drive to google drive and send it to you!

We are based out of Reno, NV, but several member of our crew were born and raised in Oakdale, CA.
Ah, that makes sense, I live in Modesto CA
What do you guys take your pics/shoot your videos on?
A Panasonic/Lumix G7 and a DJI Phantom 3 drone!
Music was eh video was awesome
What is the name of that song?
"Ends of the Earth" by Lord Huron
Ohhh....beautylife
They changed the song it differnt now
I know exactly where this is!
Can you share?
Lyell canyon
I saw this video with two differnt song
Gotta love copyrights!
This footage is awesome, but I hate when I’m in the backcountry fly fishing and I hear a drone. 😭
We can assure you there weren't many people in there. This place is deep in there and brutal on the legs
I know seriously. They are the worst
Yep drones suck
It's a nice place but the fish would have to be 10lb cutthroat .
