i work in a pizza restaurant, but i keep forgetting to make dangerous pizzas to submit to vinny. somebody ordered a large with no sauce, no cheese, mushroom garlic and onion the other day tho. not that bad, but definitely wario tier

I first tasted Natto out of curiosity and it was tough to get through. The taste is so strong, the texture so weird. I hated it.
But then the next time I went to the place I had to take it again. And now every time I go there I have to. It's probably my favorite all-times side-dish.
It's almost an addiction it's so tasty when you get over the initial weirdness. Or I just have severe vitamin D deficiency which it apparently is great for. Probably that. Love it either way.

it is soybeans, thats correct! the person taking the photo was using chopsticks to eat it because you're supposed to stir natto with chopsticks to make it stringy before eating it

The single pepperoni might be there to tag that particular pizza. We used to do that to signify extra sauce or whatever, then just peel off the pep and badabingobangou. *Also, we used to make a crust only pizza for someone pretty often. It was for a young kid with autism that only liked the crust.

I have had that """"American Pizza""""" (the one with the fries on it) at a Japanese food court at one point, and yeah it was specifically labeled as "American Pizza". So if that pic was in fact in Italy, there are ATLEAST two countries that has "American Pizza" mean "Fries on Pizza".

The tragic thing with the carolina reaper pepper is that it's super tasty. Hot sauces that include reaper or apollo puree taste super good but are so past unreasonably hot... It's a shame. I've found things that are reaper "flavored" usually just taste like shit; super acidic and capsaicin extract just added in.
The internal organ ruining heat protecting the best tasting peppers sounds a bit like some of the super poisonous mushrooms.

Some hot sauces that claim call themselves "ghost", "reaper", "scorpion", etc. only do so for recognition and never claim to have the actual type of pepper in them. It's just bell pepper with added capsaicin. Assuming it's not just straight vinegar.

The idea of durian pizza and the image of it conjures two words to mind - hot vomit. Eating warm durian is like being approached on the street by a stranger who has just finished eating a pile of hot dog shit, having him grab the sides of you head without warning and vomit aggressively onto the back of your throat. It's truly amazing that it's even considered food. What's super fucked about it though is that if it's cold enough it tastes *good*. At ice cream temperatures it's got ice cream flavor. You just need to swallow it before it warms on your tongue or your body won't let you.
And the pizza on that box was warm. It was very warm.
Can confirm after eating durian ice cream on a humid summer's day in China. As soon as it started to melt, I realized what horrible mistake I made in buying it in the first place.

I can confirm kebab pizza is quite a popular order in the north east of england and it is sometimes referred to as "geordie pizza"; its actually surprisingly good. Pizza review is quickly becoming one of my favourite segments thank you vinny

one issue i have with the dante‘s digiorno: the point of the pizza, i think, is probably to go from least to most spicy. that would make sense if you were eating the pizza whole, like you would a cookie. however, since you are cutting the pizza and probably (hopefully) not eating it crust first, you’d be going from hottest to least hot if you used the displayed order of peppers. the order of the peppers should be swapped so bell is in the center and carolina reaper is on the outside!

That 3rd pizza at 2:48 appears to be that Meat Pie Pizza, iirc from Australia Pizza Hut. Also the Hawaiian Canned Spaghetti Pizza was released because a former prime minister of New Zealand posted his own homemade one online and it went viral
The pear/brie pizza is probably better than it looks but I'm not comfortable calling it a pizza. I had an arugula and date pizza once which was great but stretches my definition of pizza, especially with the amount they gave me. I feel like if you don't call it pizza and call it a "flatbread" or something then it's less egregious.
Arugula, date, and prosciutto pizza is definitely my favorite ‘hipster’ type pizza tbh.
I've made some hipster pizzas and, honestly, as much as I prefer REAL, REGULAR pizzas, brie/apples/dates/walnuts/balsamic/arugala wasn't at all terrible.
I've had those pizzas too, and regardless of how you define they're actually good imo. The combination works in the end, but I've also had that combination on a flatbread... so I guess it's a pizza-shaped flatbreadlike..
I had a flatbread that was bacon, grapes, and balsamic glaze and it worked really well

There's a pizza place in my town that does a goddamn insidious "extra spicy" pizza. It has jalapenos, habaneros and I think ghost peppers on it, but here's the kicker! You'd think you could have some crust to help with the heat, maybe pick some peppers off if you're reaching your limit? Nope. They put ghost pepper extract in the dough AND the cheese. And you won't know until you try it because they don't advertise that. It's diabolical.

Because some people THINK it's healthier, maybe. There probably isn't much benefit to eating it that way. Being mixed in the dough probably neutralizes any benefit it offers, so it likely just tastes burnt.

It can be used to help slow down the effects of drugs or poisons, but just adding it to food as an ingredient is the kind of falsehood believed by people who think you need to "detox".
A restaurant in my area does a Stuffed Chicken Parm pizza, which sounds and looks good. Visually it looks like just breaded chicken, tomato sauce, and Parmesan cheese stuffed in a slice of pizza, but as soon as you take a bite of it you are sorely mistaken. It is 5% chicken, and 95% SPAGHETTI 🤣🤣🤣

Here in Sweden we have one that takes inspiration from indian cooking, with chicken, peanuts, onion, curry powder, and bananas.
And then you top it with just a _liiiittle_ bit of dill and sweet chili sauce. Absolutely amazing, i'd actually recommend making this at home.

I think that it's worth putting this into perspective: If that was just toast instead of pizza shaped dough, then Vin probably wouldn't have any issue with it. Make the bread round, though... OOF! Don't get me wrong, the eggs do look, uh, not really cooked, but that wasn't even the main issue to Vin. I'm not saying that it looks good either, but that if it was square toast it would be A-OK. Though I'd also feel very strange calling that pizza.
I don't quite understand a lot of the pizza opinions, though. To Vin pizza is just cheese, sauce, and dough. If you wanna get extra *_extra_* wild, add a little pepperoni. Everything else is "not necessary" and drags down the taste. I'm not saying anything goes or that all of this looks good, to be clear, as if that's needed. I'm more just saying that something a little different than just cheese isn't that crazy. I feel like at some point it's the opposite of having 'good taste' y'know?
traditional toppings and sauces are pretty set by now for most people not just vinny plus some things just make more sense as a sandwich or salad. moving the order or amount of the bread changes a lot. you can't just say that because you have a chicken sandwich and a salad with bread lettuce chicken and ranch that lettuce is also going to be good on a pizza

37:12 Those beans are specifically Natto. It's fermented soy beans. Extremely healthy but they smell and taste fucking horrible. The chopsticks are because Natto is a Japanese dish.
When I was in Germany the local kebab shop next to base had a menu item translated as "Turkish pizza" (lahmacun was the German word iirc). They sold it as a regular kebab (think burrito form factor). Absolutely delicious and absolutely not pizza.
for stuff like the goat cheese and date 'pizza' and pear one, there actually is a non pizza term for it, a good amount of people just call it a flat bread, calling it a pizza i think became a big thing when the health food craze happened and they started looking for common food alternatives, but like- its just a flat bread lol
No funny joke but at least in the north of Italy I've had gorgonzola and pear pizza at a few places. They slice the pear real thin and it cooks up nicely, and pairs very well with the sharp cheese. Do recommend.
