    15.5 pounds or 70 newtons of buoyant lift are in (that) PFD (35 Lbs or 150 N are in a LJ that is designed to roll you face up). An inflatable PFD performs at 35/70 as well.
    It’s generally good to tether items that don’t float to one’s vest. A whistle is good to have attached to oneself too. The long pocket is for carrying a waterproof buoyant radio or GPS. Compass will fit in too; sunscreen & lip balm, big juice. Car keys.
