    There is something wrong with those owners. Not the vet, but the people who decided to castrate an older stallion. It looks like a backyard breeding operation to me. These people can hardly handle the stallion and let him get this aggressive. Somebody with that many horses should be able to handle them/train them to be under control.

    • @stevenjackson1688
      @stevenjackson1688 4 года назад +3

      Yeah. They don’t seem very horse-smart or fit enough to handle them...

    • @niacherryblossom
      @niacherryblossom 3 года назад +6

      Yea men horny is difficult to handle much less a 1000lbs ideal weight horse that is horny will be wosrt to control.......but i do agree if u breeding horses learn how to handle them safely.

      @horseisle3adventureswithtr719 3 года назад +1

      The owners that tried to handle him don't look to be fit enough to handle ANY horses. And why in the world do they have like 10+ horses in small pens in a junky place. I seriously doubt they ride all the horses. Not only does it look like backyard breeding, it looks like a horse hoarding situation

      Agree about the handling issue, but other than that these look like extremely healthy horses. Well fed, well groomed, picturesque like Breyer models or something, lol!

    Those ladies were very unprofessional. My trainer would never let our stud do such a thing. I think they still need someone to work with them and a stallion

      An absolutely useless procedure, you just plunge the animal into torment and wild stress ... God created animals as ideal ... There is no need to invade their body and try to change something to please yourself, and because of your selfish desires ... It's just like that does not pass, and karmic punishment will follow for this

    interested in seeing the end result of his aggression! I have a 14 yr old stallion (never bred) who is showing more aggression as he's older and has only 1 teste descended so I'll have to take him to the Vet school to have done. I'm hoping afterwards, he will be just like a regular old guy to enjoy without worry of stallion behavior. Maybe post a follow up in a few months???

    • @weasel1822
      @weasel1822 3 года назад

      I have a question.
      Was his undescended testicle ever a major concern? I know if dogs don’t have both testicles descended by 6 months vets generally recommend neutering them immediately to prevent a potentially lethal infection, but I don’t know that much about horses so they may be different.

    The owners of this stallion are completely dull. They have no idea how to handle stallions and they have multiple. First hint is gelding a stallion at 22 years old!

    I have to say the vet should have let the sedation set in before moving him & the owners should have had him in a bigger pen in the first place.

    Have seen many castrations in my time, never seen it done like that!! Usually done with emasculators which crush the tube that goes from festivals, balls just come of then.

    hello,dr. Rachel.
    me and my twin sister learned a lot from your horse castration videos ,and we now castrate horses with more confidence and joy.
    On the other hand men say that we are causing them castration anxiety,and that young girls should not be castrating,we are 18 years old,we wanted to know if you heard the same from men,and if so what did you do about it and what do you suggest that we do about it. thank you.

    • @Mustic_Cassoroale
      @Mustic_Cassoroale 3 года назад +1

      As a 19 year old man, what do you mean by "joy" of castration exactly?
      Secondly, the castration anxiety is a normal thing... They are afraid to see their testicles cut off, if they do it its fine because they are in control.
      Its because we know the purpose of those organs, we get hit in them, we sit on them, we live with them between our legs.(worst pain ever, very sensitive, makes testosterone, makes us men, sperm, etc.)
      You have 1 option, let the men do it for you(which I think is a good option because you and your twin sister don't have to get your hands dirty with blood, you don't have to mutilate an animal, also you can do other productive ranch work while the men are gathering the 'oysters')
      Trust me when I say EVERY man fears this. Its nature, sadly. I wish that I didn't fear this....
      P.S. I think nature also did this so, men would be able to reproduce with women in the Stone Age. Like to keep them from damaging their balls so, they can make babies.

    Is there an advantage to the Henderson/drill method to castration over traditional emasculators?

    • @MyBelgianAzzy
      @MyBelgianAzzy 3 года назад

      Yes- there's significantly less bleeding with use of the tool vs a traditional scalpel cut.
