- The Baja 1000 is the longest race in the world. 12 friends from North Idaho will try to conquer the impossible and race 2 bikes across the epic and remote Baja Peninsula of Mexico. Going to battle against some of the biggest and baddest motorsports teams in the process.

As a 3x baja1000 Ironman from Australia and doing it pretty much on my own just with baja pits the butterfly's never go away baja is really special awesome story! hopefully I get back in 2023 or 2024 and run into you guys 👌

@@camillemadrigal5630 no he is not Australian but came from Australia he's actually Dutch and rode great good to see so.w coverage on the ironmen that just go down there and do their best with what they have.
Never forget Mouse McCoy solo of the 1000. He led the race had a get off 80 miles from the Finnish at night. Broke his headlights his collor bone. Followed another competitor to the finnish. Finnished 12 overall. His determination brought tears to ky eyes. Dudes a monster.
I remember watching that movie with my dad! Mouse is one of the reason I fell in love with dirt bikes!

Great video! I spent about 40 years racing off-road in the Southeastern U. S. always dreamed about Baja but never made it. Got to watch the Parker 400 a couple of times and my Dad raced Barstow to Vegas when I was a little kid.
A blessing that you guys got to fulfill a dream. I hope you do another video for 2023.

Amazing life. Wish to work hard enough to put my kinds on the Baja 1000 or maybe formula 1, just something great and positive to pass on. My family has no trajectory and no foundation. Baja 1000 would be so awesome to be a bad*ss foundation. Respect to these people, and I wish the best for all racers of all kinds. 🤘🤘

Giving Dana Brown a run for his money! 👍🏼 I was tired when I started watching this, thought, “No way will I get 20 minutes into it.” Watched the whole thing, and it FELT like only 20 minutes! I’m just over the hill in Montana, go through your guys area all the time. Keep it movin’!
Great job, guys .. Everyone involved was awesome .. I wanted to do the 1000 for yrs when I was a bit younger and building bikes and wrenching on them, but it just never panned out .. I thought that I was too old now at 52, but yall may have sparked a new fire in me ... thank you for sharing your adventure 😎👍

Great Documentary! Glad I came across this movie. Did anyone see a dark silhouette at time stamp 1:01:57 on the left side? I can't figure how it could have been casted there the way it was. I would really like to do this and invite all my old dirt bike buddies I used to have. I can see once you've done it, you have to do it again and again. In fact, I bet your whole year would revolve around preparing for it. TOO MUCH FUN!!! 🏁😎🏁

Well done guys.. seeing this brings back memories of the barstow to Vegas.. raced that one a couple of times but never the 1000. Nothing even comes close to the Baja 1k..

The team did indeed race again last fall at the Baja 1000, it will be a while before editing is complete, but the race was documented ;)

Bravo! Great film. Q: why dont they just send the trophy trucks first, so they arent forcing everyone in front off the track down the road?
The bikes do get a big head start (7-8 hours) but getting caught by the lead trucks is an inevitability for most teams. If the trucks went first, then the broken down trucks would get caught by the bikes, and the process would repeat itself in a different order. It’s part of what makes Baja special and unique from the more…tamed desert races ;)

Sure did. And we brought some more friends, both on two and four wheels. Got a few more months of editing first 😉
Know when to say when
Burnt by the Garmin Explore App doing it's sync and deleting tracks on the GPS because they were not on the App or cloud. I still do not comprehend the logic behind their system and it's always a stressful moment not knowing if all your saved tracks are going to wiped when you need them the most.

Pretty much everyone’s doing the Bib mousse these days down south. Best option when pits can be 30+ miles apart
Trickle charge your bike once you get the stella hooked up.
Much rather hear the motorcycles and not music. I enjoyed watching most of it with volume down.
Is this race really longer than the Paris-Dakar? LeMans 24 hour race?
Just as long , if not longer.
@@keithclyde733 I thought the Dakar was about 14 days? and 5,000 km. Sounds to me longer than 1,000 and 24 hours.
@@korsal4133, in Dakar they get to sleep at night. THE BAJA IS ALL IN One Single Race.
Not by total distance, but there are no stages. The race does not stop. You start keep racing day and night to the finish.
I don’t remember anybody mentioning it but did you get to prerun?

How long does this test last? I saw the drivers starting at night and arriving the next day at night, are they the same drivers? And what are these numbers (144x - 644x - 77x)

Michael and Anavel met backpacking in her native Peru back in the ‘90s. She’s a huge motorcycle fan and is our best translator. We ❤️ our team.

SCORE is loosing a lot of credibility and signups are at an all time low because of race ending penalties like that. In the last 1000 the majority of riders in all classes where slapped with some lame penalty like that. SCORE is in a sad state with their excessive use of penalties, they are killing the spirit of the race.
The Good- great movie. puts you in the action. BAD- music is too loud- can't hear what people are saying.
Holy shit! Love the passion but reduce the amount of riders and make it real.
music drowns everybody out half the time, could barely make out what anyone was saying.
