I love the fact that Old Norse Viking Metal is a thing.
Yep
Me too ❤️
It's been around way before this...and this is not it.
@@hugostiglitz5798 and what would be more accurate to be Old Norse Metal `?
A century from now, this genre of music might be the big reason the language is learned and spoken
We are all witnessing and a part of the rise of Peyton parish and it is so truly amazing. Thank you for letting us be a part of your journey

I hope you find way out to Washington State to do a live and meet and greet. Me and my best friend have been been huge fans and following you since first started popping up on tik to. Would be incredible honor. 😎🤘

See, in this simple comment, it implies that one mister David Draiman has been rendered irrelevant.
Anyone else get chills at 1:48 from the passion he has reaching up to Odin to give him strength for the upcoming chorus?
He is not reaching up to Odin, Odin has
reached down and touched HIM, and he is relishing in his God’s embrace
Thank all the gods this channel exists. This is the kind of music my soul craves!

I really don't understand how this album wasn't popular. The viking chants really resonate with me, living in this age of oppression. Stand up high on the prow and defend those who cannot defend themselves!
i'm confused. you think vikings defended the weak like some sort of superheroes? they pillaged and raided *from* the helpless! they WERE the oppressors to the common christiandom, while the church oppressed them at home for being pagan. hell, the life they lived WAS oppressive... tetanus meant you lost an arm, not got a shot. the flu meant you died. you wander too far from home, it meant a bear made you lunch. dysentery wasn't limited to the oregon trail. you paid dues to the local jarl, and if he wanted to take everything you owned, you were lucky if you walked away with your life. ...and this assumes you weren't an immigrant, chattel, or prisoner. ...now how much of the remains of your drought-stricken harvest do you wanna sacrifice to Freyr to ensure a better harvest next year?
you live in an era of unparalleled freedom for all mankind, as not even the poorest of us are the slaves of a prophet, king, or god. Take the best of both worlds: love the best of the past, but also appreciate the best of today, so that we can strive for a better tomorrow.
LITERALLY THE VERSION I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR FINALLY!!!
Fair enough
I know right?
Ever hear the one by Saltation Mortis'? ❤❤ Love both.
Lyrics compared with English version:
Þat mælti mín móðir, My mother told me
at mér skyldi kaupa Someday I will buy
fley ok fagrar árar, Galleys with good oars
fara á brott með víkingum, Sail to distant shores
standa upp í stafni, Stand up on the prow
stýra dýrum knerri, Noble barque I steer
halda svá til hafnar Steady course to the haven
hǫggva mann ok annan, Hew many foe-men
hǫggva mann ok annan Hew many foe-men
Is better this way lol
Thats actually wrong the last part of first verse is sail away with vikings
Thanks bro. Well, there is correct pronunciation left🤔
That's what my mother said,
that I should buy
happy and beautiful years,
go away with vikings,
stand up
steer an animal
so head to the port
kill a man and another,
kill a man and another.
@@JaydonLewis0this gives off 🤓 energy tbh
As someone with Scandinavian heritage (I am part Norwegian) this fills my heart with immense pride at what my ancestors were.
Skal brother
I have one complaint: it wasn't long enough :(
Fabulous cover! Also shout out to Jonathan Young for all the production he's been doing with you. Absolutely flawless duo.
Right.. my complaint is that he didn't include any of the other original verses.. just the chorus over and over
I’m convinced Peyton Parrish was Beowulf in a past life. 😂
BEEEOOOWWUUUULLFFF!!!!
His mighty thanes
Long glory to the king of the geats
Would have been a better movie
it speaks IT SPEEEAKS!!!!
Your voice is made for this kind of music. I don't know anybody else who will fit that good in this genre 🤘🔥🪓🛡️🤘💝🌹💝
I wish I could look up the lyrics and translate everything to old Norse I would hella love to rock out to this while speaking in Norse
Think this is icelandish
It's basically this, 4 times over
Þat mælti mín móðir
At mér skyldi kaupa
Fley ok fagrar árar
Fara á brott með víkingum
Standa upp í stafni
Stýra dýrum knerri
Halda svá til hafnar
Hǫggva mann ok annan
Hǫggva mann ok annan
And then it ends with: MY MOTHER TOLD MEEE
Icelandic is like the closest thing to old Norse that we know of.
Been listening to this song every day. There is currently a thunderstorm outside and when this song ended, a massive thunder crack and roll happened outside. Perfection
THAT... Had to be awesome!⚡
Approval from the heavens
Thor literally approved of the song lol
As Hugin and Munin soar so does my Viking spirit when listening to this killer song! Keep making the Gods head bang Mr. Parrish 🍻
I’ve been listening to him since he was singing country. It’s so impressive how he can sing 2 different genres of music as well as he does. Can’t wait to see him in GA with Tommy Vext!!!
I would love to have him and his band play at my wedding! This would be so amazing to hear in person!
I haven't stopped listening to the Instagram teaser

This song is something I could listen to all the time. The beat is amazing and the vocals. Peyton Pariah is the Viking God!
Walking to work has never been the same since I’ve started to listen to this awesome music. 🔥🔥🔥
I'm viking blood!! Love hearing viking metal!!!
Peyton is on the way to the top in the modern heathen's music world. With one step close to the Pop Culture (in a positive way, of course)
Praise Odin to give you a voice and talent to create such incredible music for all to hear @Peyton Parrish
Love seeing people employing Jonathan young for production, he’s so good at it
Каждый раз поражаюсь, насколько гармоничные выходят песни)) Крутая версия, спасибо!
Совершенно не хрен возразить!😉
This and the bagpipe version are absolutely the best. The Gods approve
Peyton can't say it enough absolute fire. And you are the one who helped me fine myself in the world of Norse Pagism
Can we get a lyric video to go with this version too? I’d love to be able to sing this without guessing the words hahaha. Love this so much, great way to get some power in the morning
It's an old poem in old Norse. Here are the lyrics, but then it's the pronunciation.. Like ð is a "th" sound, and Þ is another kind of "th" sound etc..😄
Þat mælti mín móðir
At mér skyldi kaupa
Fley ok fagrar árar
Fara á brott með víkingum
Standa upp í stafni
Stýra dýrum knerri
Halda svá til hafnar
Hǫggva mann ok annan
Hǫggva mann ok annan
The gods themselves are loving this version
Peyton Parrish is a gift from the gods.
I’m still new to finding you out I’ve heard maybe 4-5 of your songs but EVERY time your energy and intensity being solo on the mic it with a band is phenomenal. You have no business making songs that hit as hard as they do you have an amazing talent brother keep it up!!🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘🤘
Peyton is a fucking legend! My 5 year old daughter and I were blasting this on the way to ren faire and ended up seeing him. He made my daughters day!!

This was the best cover you've done. 10/10 The emotion in your voice sounded so much more natural yet raw. The song was awesome! Your growth as a singer is tremendous. Keep it up.
Not trying to give you a big head, but this is one of the best music videos I've ever seen! You absolutely slayed this! Badass my man
Incredible, thank you Peyton Parish for giving us awesome Viking music.
I... I have no words.. but great song once again Peyton. Your videos get better every time.
Thank you, Mr. Parrish, for this cover, I think your voice sounds the best when you sing in Old Norse. Never give up on your dreams, people, and never forget to know thyself. You can help anyone, even with a smile, so please, spread love, spread happiness, forgive yourself and those, who hurt you. Let's make this world a better place to live. I think we all need it. 💯🔥❤️

absolutely love the song, the languege sits metal so well, Peyton´s energy is a huge plus, all and all it´s a masterpiece
Awesome as always! The first one felt like an Ode to a mother that passed on. This one feels like the anglo-saxons that raided a Viking tribe are learning that out of all the hostages they could've taken, the mother of the Chief should definetely not have been one of them.
Amazing song!!!! Sick voice.
PS: I'm +200hs into AC Valhalla and the DLC is next... :) I cannot wait to play it...

My ancestors was actually vikings and half of my family including me have there temper strength and i some how can forge swords axes and knives without being taught a single thing and its good quality as well some friends that was police officers asked me once if i could make them a axe so i did and when he went to pick it up the blade was incredibly sharp and durable he took a swing at a log that he cut with a chainsaw and the axe i made him went right threw it like melted butter he asked what i made it out of and i told him iron and tungsten the handle was made with oak and cedder with pine sap and a little tar to hold handle then it was dipped in tungsten to prevent breaking and i got a hudge payment for that one and i split it with my grandfather and parents and some friends then payed for my own camping trips with scouts and the church
