Lot of those countries don't have good regulations for trucks. In Europe and North America usually crack down on weights why there's several dot scales monitoring it
The problem of China is that everything apart is not that bad at all.. but together.. man o man those are some bad combinations. People drive with truck that are like ‘C’ class quality, with bad loading knowledge, on terrible roads… I’m mean if you have just one of those 3 things it will probably work out pretty well..
Also bad roads. Trucks are not supposed to go through craters like that when loaded with quintals of weight. They are designed in a lab, and tested on regular roads with regular loads. All that is defied when they go to mines or to deliver construction material on sites with uneven terrains.
All vehicle mods are banned in China now. Before that, we could see road trains on public roads, even a 40-ton dump truck could turn into a 200-ton cement road destroyer. They only operate late at night, lining up and ignoring all traffic lights because they just can't brake with that short distance

I worked at a refinery and a truck driver came in and was unloading and evidently he forgot to set his brakes. As the truck was unloading somehow it started moving and rolled threw the perimeter fence and rolled over going downhill at an angle. The driver was in the break room and somebody came in and said some truck just rolled down the hill and turned over. The driver laughed and said "Oh boy, somebody's in trouble." He was right. It was HIM. Not only that, the hose was still hooked up and it broke the pipe BEHIND the shut off valve coming out of the plastic tank. We had no way to shut off the product coming out of the tank. Thankfully it was just light oil and we were able to cram rags into the break until we could rig up an air pump and pump the tank out onto another truck and there was no spill into the Mississippi River. That woulda been some shit for DAMN sure.
