- When the opportunity comes along to fly the spectacular VL3 Evolution, it's just impossible to say no! :) This aircraft, built by JMB Aircraft in the Czech Republic, is one of the best performing microlight aircraft (or light sport aircraft) to date. See full description for more info...
This episode tells the story of my visit to AirFair 2020 at Teuge Airport (EHTE), situated in the central part of The Netherlands, Europe. This yearly event is organized and hosted by Air-Side BV, a local family company situated at the airport.
There was a lot to see and to do at the AirFair, especially for those who pre-registered themselves to do a demo flight on a VL3 Evolution. Take a guess who was one of the lucky few to go on a (later to be crazy awesome) flight?! :P

Still an excellent experience.
My first 14 hours logged (ever) were in an Extra-300L. Lol. I had about 8-9k sim hours and I STILL felt a bit uneasy with tumbles.

I was flying this in microsoft flight sim and it felt unbelievable, like the sim programmers must have exaggerated the handling characteristics of this aircraft so had to jump on youtube to check it out and it's real. Holy fuck.

Neither the engine nor the prop particularly benefits from the loads imposed by horsing the whole airplane around."

That's applicable to other aircraft than Rotax powered onces. But thanks for sharing.

I was have amazed on my test flight too. Descent speed on full flaps and with gear down is incredible and very comfortable on that fast airplane!

I have only just got my licence back in last month in Gold Coast Australia. Seeing your videos is a very good inspiration to confirm this is the best ultralight in the world today. I’m really looking forward to your next 2 videos on JMB. I want to take it from Golad Cias to Ayers Rock, Kakadu, Cape York then down the Great Barrier Reef. I have other big plans to go right around Australia. Jolmner, I was looking at purchasing the VL3 with 914 motor. Now that you have flown the 915. In your opinion is it worth the extra money and reduced useful load. ??
Well, I didn't flew the 914 yet, but if I see how much power the 915 has, personally I would go with that engine. But that's just my two cents 😉

I'm confused. How is he able to come in so steep but not increase speed? Is it the landing gear?
No, it's the split flap system, which also acts as a speed break. In that flap config, you just won't overspeed. It's an incredible aircraft with an insane speed range 👌🏻
Price, is that U.S.? I love ❤️ the VL3.

15 to 18 liter per hour

@@SuperV8driver Oh, could be too. It's a real slick airplane, so it won't be that much. This is a 100hp Rotax, which I use in my own TL96 at 18 ltr per hour. But feel free to ask JMB themselves... 😉
