  • Continuing the expansion of our Realistic North American Cities Skylines 2 city Riverview, with some minor revamps of the two ports of the metropolitan area, upzoning inner-city areas to promote more row-houses, medium-density apartment blocks and skyscrapers - before comitting to a huge office and industry park south of East Riverview, in an attempt to curb our growing unemployment figures, which peak at almost 5000! Hope you enjoy!

you could call it Ville Fluviale which translates to River Town in French. The story is like the French settled across from the english in the Riverview valley and founded Ville Fluviale.

As a seperate location to downtown you could do a financial high rise district to use some office demand but not sure you’ve got a spot for it yet, definitely the best cs2 city on RUclips

Maybe the area should be named : Riverpool ( Since these row houses look like UK houses) And it could be a British Business man that came to Riverview and bought off the old low density houses to make money and stack out a lot of people in one area and max out profit…

for “Black Bird Terrace”, you should call it “Waterfront Village”.Naming it 'Waterfront Village' just feels right because it paints a picture of a chill and friendly spot right by the river. It's all about a relaxed, community vibe with that sweet river view - a perfect place to kick back and enjoy life.

Since this is an American themed city, you could name the row house neighborhood "Cobbs Creek" in recognition/honoring a Philadelphia neighborhood of rowhouses that the Police bombed May 13, 1985 with 2 satchel bomb laced with Tovex and C-4 explosives from a helicopter, killing 11 (including 5 children) and burning down Sixty-one homes leaving more than 250 citizens homeless.

A park and ride to train/tram would be cool for cims coming into the region from outside - lots of US metros have them - not the best land use around stations but it fits the vibe.

WOW!! You are by far my favourite CS2 content creator. It's amazing how you can manage to keep these builds fresh with so limited content in the vanilla game so far. Next time you will have residential need would be great to see a semi-self functional town at the edge of the map, perhaps connected to the Riverview by train and highway only

  • @sliith

The rowhouse district could be named Stockport as it was developed in place of a previous and older port that used to be there before. But as the city expanded and 2 new ports were developed making the older one obsolete, there was a need for housing as well as development in the close city center of East Riverview. As a location of historical significant to the port, it was redeveloped into housing for port workers that migrated into the city to work at those newer and more modern shipyards.

don't know if this was mentioned allready but you could build nice docks by draining the area of water first, placing roads on the bottom part so that the quay wall shoots upward. Afterwards you let the water fill the area again and the roads will be under water. (Renaming them to . will clear the road name poking through the water) This way your factories could come up right next to the water.

A little trick I learned with population demand for medium and dense housing. Always check the last few buildings you just zoned to see how many people are living there. If they are near full you can zone some more if there is still a demand. If they are not full, wait until they are before you build more. Also, if you want to build high density housing, DONT any more medium density. I built a ton of medium density and my peeps moved out the high density into the medium. Making them abandon the high density buildings. I then turned all that new medium into row houses and they mov3d back into the high. The lesson learned is it's a balancing act between the medium and high density buildings.

Yes I appreciate the game extremely well adapted features that far beyond Sim City of any generation, but the thing is you always end up your time looking at the constant flow of the traffic.

I also noticed that note from commercial that they don't have enough customers can be because of 2 additional things:
    1. at night demand is lower, so there will be more notifications about low demand
    2. sometimes game spawns a lot of similar businesses. just delete them and let something else to be built
but yeah - demand in SK 2 is not about actual demand, but more about possibility of having a demand, so it's not that accurate

I find the best way to build quays is to not build them as quays at first but have a layer of ground just above the water but lower than the land you are trying to quay and go at a road height of at least 3.25m on the transition between the two heights. This solves those annoying "In Water" errors, and then afterwards terraform away the lower ground. the downside is the height has to be slightly higher.

I think St. Lennox could be a cool name (meaning with many elm trees" and "elm grove" in scottish), maybe a similar vibe to Brooklyn as someone else mentioned with the bridge buildings but consisting of an old church at the end of the bridge street by the river, slightly hidden in the treeline by the water.

Demand works different in CS:2 - it is way more important to look at education of your cims, as well as the employment rate, job availability etc... demand for industry and commercial will always be super high no matter what you do, but if most of the businesses show you that they do not have enough customers while having very high demand at the same time... you know something is off :) I rather focus on the balance, to not have so many issues regarding lack of customers and rent pop up, and balance the cims and employment smoother.

You should unlock some of the police options. Placing a prison n a few other things would make a big difference.
Great city by the way, easily the best looking one I've seen.

You can put a refinery as that thing alone can give almost 700-1000 employment . It will help you a lot

Nathan from Nathan's sandbox showed a nice way to use concrete slabs in CS2 by turning on developer mode. That might be just what the port of Riverview needs.

if you turn on developer mode you can disable validation checks so you can place roads and whatnot everywhere
