    One thing that I've noticed about Japanese joinery videos. The artists seldom speak. They let the results speak. And the reults are eloquent.

    Good: another proper joint. Stick to those! I've always thought this an overly fussy joint for what it achieves, but it works, and it looks good. An important feature is that the shoulders are inset, hiding any shrinkage of the stock.

    This way, may not be as fast as cordless drills, screws and giving Lowe's half your retirement money. But it's elegant, strong, and will last far longer. Speed and quantity aren't much if it's junk or short-lived.
