    Hi! How can you convert the result to UV International Index?

    Thanks a lot for sharing! One question, do you have the code for the 0,96inch display (the one you show at the end of the video? I think the code you share in the link is for the 2 lines display...

      The code is in the website. You can look for that.

    That phone puts out UV light? Am I missing something? As a reptile keeper I'd love to make a device that measures UV properly

    So does the ML8511 UV Sensor also allow you to detect a particular wavelength in nm also? For example if I want to know what wavelength an LED is emitting will with sensor allow me to identify the particular wavelength such as 220 nm or does it only detect the light intensity/ dose in mW/cm^2?

      Nope

      @@UBsLab Do you know of another sensor available for wavelengths of around 220-240nm?

      Try AS7265x Traid Spectroscopy Sensor.

      @@HowtoElectronics I just looked that model up and it says it is for 410nm (UV) to 940nm (IR). I appreciate your reply. Any other suggestions on suppliers for 222nm range?

    • @raimahi
      @raimahi Год назад

      Find the suitable UV pass filter for this range and then you can exclude other nm UV outside of this range to measure accurately.

    Which mw / cm2 values correspond to UVA?

    • @tenholiehu7106
      @tenholiehu7106 4 года назад +1

      This is measuring UVA (~280nm to 390ñm) so any value >0 means that there is UVA. But in practice strong visible light may also give some small values. Check the sensor data sheet to get more information.

    Which buses the ml8511 is compatible ?

    • @tenholiehu7106
      @tenholiehu7106 4 года назад

      You don't use any buses with this. It is analog component. It converts photo-current to voltage depending on the UV intensity. You will convert output voltage to UV (mW/cm2) using some AD-converter. You can use Arduino board like in the video. RTFM

    I really hate it when he touches the sensor with his fat finger and wipes it also.. as documentation says, you must not touch the sensor and must not clean it or rub it as there is a thin resin layer on the top of the sensor for purpose and it can be wiped off and the part can be damaged. Just irritating how he handles the UV sensor.
