Do you want a break from the hustle and bustle of our modern lives? Imagine you spend a couple of days in a colorful village with old stone house-towers, unparalleled hospitality, breathtaking landscapes, and crystal clear blue waters. How does this sound? If you ask me, it sounds exactly like Limeni village.
Limeni is a Greek coastal village in the Mani peninsula in southern #Peloponnesus. Located 5 kilometers west of the municipality capital of Aeropolis, this picturesque village stands out for its architecture. During the Ottoman occupation, the clan organization of Limeni dictated that all settlements had the form of a stoned tower to protect themselves from raids.
Among this beauty, the most prominent and historical buildings are the local church of Panagia and the οld palаce of thе #Mavrоmichalis fаmily.
