  • In this tutorial I show you how to design a 5 transistor op-amp using optimization in Cadence using parameterization. This is a single stage op-amp so it does not provide impressive specs, but it is a good place to start when talking about optimizing op-amps. In my first video, I optimize using global variables. In this video I use parameters. Parameters are a little easier to use and easier to back-annotate into your design. I will add a video which involves optimizing a 2 stage op-amp soon, which will be a little more complicated.
Thanks for watching and rate, comment, and subscribe if you have the time. Thanks!

Very well explained. I hope there will come a video where you explain how to optimize a 2 stage OPAMP.

Hi there, thank you very much for the video. Is the Optimization parameters option available with ADE Explorer (spectre), or we need to have ADE GXL licence for that? ( I’m not finding it on spectre) thanks a lot!

Thank you for your tutorial. I'm working on RFIC such as Lna and mixer . I want to know if we can do these optimization on layout?

How come no one else mentions this feature?!

How did you skip the optimization ?
