  • How to set up your knitting machine. The machine I’m using today is a Studio 150 bulky machine.
    Refer to your manual when setting up your machine but hopefully, this video will help you understand your manual better 😉

    This was a great video, Danielle! Thank you. I haven’t used my knitting machine for over 30 years. I will probably only restart in about a year (we’re renovating an old house), but am loving relearning on RUclips and getting comfortable with starting up again. In the meantime, I’m cleaning and lubricating all the bits and pieces. Greetings from Australia 🐨

    Nice video, but I think you may have missed a couple of steps, the ribber is just hanging off the knitter in your video which is pretty unsafe. I believe you are supposed to use the regular clamps to clamp the metal supports on either end of the ribber to the table. Also, the tension rod isn't used as normal - you need to flip it around so that it leans towards you, not away from you.

    You forgot 1 very important step! The clamps that you removed from the main bed must be attached to the bracket of the rubber to hold it onto the table, otherwise the ribber may fall; causing injury to the user, or damage to the machine, or both!

      Thanks. I do have it like that on my standard machine but the instruction manual for this machine doesn’t call for the extra clamps. Definitely wouldn’t hurt to use them though.

      My manual calls for the additional set of clamps, but I'm still scared the whole thing's going to fall off the table

    hi you have to put the regular C clamps on the end of those ribber joiners, otherwise it might fall off.

    I just got a ribber, installed it, and already hate the tilt of my main knitting bed. Do most people take off the ribber when they are doing a lot of main knitting bed knitting? I can't find a tilt stand at the moment, and not sure if any are available. Let me know how you manage this? Thanks so much!

      I did when I added my ribber too but I got used to it pretty quickly and now it doesn't bother me at all.

    How long have you owned your knitting machine? Did the ribber come with it or was it purchased separately? What model/brand is it. Thanks for all your videos. They’re very informative.

    Trying to help my mom set up her ribber. Has the same model as in the video, but the piece that connects the two carriages has a different look, has a paddle on each side that moves up and down when the carriage changes direction. The carriage only moves an inch, then the gear that controls the paddles stops rotating and jams.

      It’s definitely an intimidating part of the machine but once you figure it out you will love it!! 🥰 An easy way to begin with the ribber is this pumpkin pattern because you don’t have to learn how to cast on. ruclips.net/video/JmXcZQw-HUs/видео.html

      It will fit some machines. You just need to know the number and match it to the right machine.

      Yes! It's a gun case and you can get one here. amzn.to/3Z50LNw You may want to check the measurements to ensure it will fit. They do make a bigger one as well.

    When you slide the ribber endings on to the machine on both ends, do these pieces simply sit in those slots? Or do they have to be somehow fastened?

    • @LoveYourKnittingMachine
      @LoveYourKnittingMachine  Год назад

      They just sit there.

    • @mathesonu
      @mathesonu 6 месяцев назад

      Thank you, but mine don't simply sit, these end pieces kind of move out a bit from the slots. It's not working properly. so I try to rib, but I have to kind of squeeze the two beds together with one hand, so that it ribs. I don't know how to fix my problem. If you can give me advise that would be great. I would love to knit a sweater. thanks @@LoveYourKnittingMachine

      I figured it out. Can you believe that the table/ ribber clamps were not the right ones. Apparently each machine has its own type of table/ribber clamps. Now I hope that I can rib and knit a sweater. Gosh, what a long time it took me to figure that out. The machine was purchased used and it came with those clamps. I had no idea that they were not the correct ones.

    • @LoveYourKnittingMachine
      @LoveYourKnittingMachine  6 месяцев назад

      I can certainly believe that. Frustrating since they came with your machine. Thanks for sharing so that others with this problem can learn from you. 🩵
