- We listened to Bob Dylan, the 60’s counter-culture icon, after seeing his name mentioned in President Obama’s book A Promised Land. We also got to ask President Obama a few questions, and we'll ask him even more on the December episode of BookTube only on RUclips 12/16/20.
I'm a 71 year old Native American who has been watching your music reaction videos for quite some time now. I've really appreciated your enjoyment of and respect for the music that touched me so deeply and enhanced my life through the decades. The appearance of President Obama to let you know the good influence of your work brought me to tears of joy. @Denise Eugene Did you know the “original” Rosa Parks is still alive and living in the Bronx? Claudette Colvin was 14 when she refused to give up her bus seat to a white man and went to jail. This was 9 months before Rosa Parks did the same thing. Claudette Colvin should not be living in anonymity !! She was part of Browder v. Gayle that won in the Supreme Court and banned bus segregation.

I never voted for President Obama either time... but I tell ya, there's one thing donald trump did for me... he made me me so angry at my party (GOP) that I took a look back w/ a more open mind & deeper wiser vision at Barack Obama and realize truly what an excellent President he really was. I wasn't like my fellow Republicans- I wasn't a whacko birther, I never challenged him about ridiculous stuff like his pastor, Kenya, his birth certificate- I always knew Barack Obama was a decent honorable man w/ a wonderful family. I kind of wish it was a different song because this is like one of his absolute most basic ones, but I'm still glad they got to hear it and dive into its meaning. It's kind of like "Love Me Do" by The Beatles. Doesn't really showcase the whole depth. But still, this is awesome!

When I was a teen I would sit on the floor listening to American top 40. With my boom box on the floor and cassette tape ready to be recorded on.

@@andreamartinez6929 I moved recently and found a box full of about 50+ cassette tapes. Had fun showing my son who’s 22 the mix tapes his dad had made for me back in the 90’s. He was always much better at it than I was. Some were melted, a few had the dreaded tape spool, but most were in good condition. No idea what to do with them besides box them back up for posterity. 😂

Recording off music on the radio, you had to be quick to avoid the commercial, you'd have to rewind quickly if you got the timing wrong, then stop at right spot, then hit record at the right time for more.

@Maureen Ponderosa You don't know what you're talking about. If it were not for ObamaCare I would be dead. When I was laid off with this covid mess the only insurance I could afford was Obamacare it ended up being cheaper than what I had to pay when I was working. With zero co-pays on a lot of stuff including my medicine. So even if I am able to start working again I would still keep this insurance, it's better than what's offered by my employer. So you should not talk about what you don't know about.
