- Here's my version of the instrumental song that Ritchie recorded on Rainbow's first album. He also did later versions, one live with Dio and another one in the studio with Doogie White!

Not many people know that Ritchie did this version of Still Im Sad back in the first years of Deep Purple in the
late 60s, Glad he brought it back with Rainbow......my Favorite Song of all time, I read that he was a big
Jeff Beck fan at the time. And Jeff Beck loved his rendition of thier song.

Makes me realize how much Ritchie is doing during a song. And how much "weirdness" or interesting bits he throws into the mix.
She's great. I watch this quite often. Partly for the lovely tone she gets, partly for her talent, and partly because it's the perfect song for this kind of thing. I bought this album in 1989. Love this song. I love it off "Rainbow On Stage" best.
I'd like to request Robin Trower - Too Rolling Stoned. To see how she handles blues rock.

One of my favorite rainbow songs (I know it is a cover of Yardbirds but still). Heard this live in 2018 it was 15 minutes long with vocals, drum, guitar and keyboard solos

I could have sworn I left a comment on this a long time ago ... but if I did the RUclips monster ate it it seems. So, just a quick note to say well done! The mysteries of the algorithm never cease to amaze in that some channels catch fire and some don't and there seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. All I can say as a fellow player is that that was great :)

weird, a couple of days ago, I suddenly got this song in my head at work. did not search for it or anything, and today it turns up in my suggestions ? weird ? right? but a beautiful tune, and nicely executed
Can you say a bit about that tone from 3:05 - 3:08? Interesting. Sound like someone saying, "Who's there, who's there." I never noticed it on the album. Too bad because it's a cool note, tone, bend. If the album had been made today with modern production it'd probably be decipherable.

Minerva, can you please tell us a bit about what gear you're using here? It looks like a '60s-style Strat but I think that's a 2-point tremolo. And what about amp, etc.? Is it all digital or are you playing through a real amp? Thanks, truly impressive, you're incredibly talented!

I am using a 62' John Cruz Masterbuilt Custom Shop stratocaster with a Blade Runner bridge plugged into a Fender Mustang v2 (american 90s preset).
@@minervapla8815 Thank you, Minerva. Wow, I can't believe that's a Mustang amp! Sounds absolutely killer - but I'm sure it's a lot more the player than the amp! I'm really blown away by how much attention you paid to the details, even when to switch to the neck pickup. Love your tremolo use, too, switching off between finger vibrato and the trem, absolutely dead on! Are you such a big Blackmore fan or does it just come easily to you? (Oh - did you put the Blade Run trem on your guitar or did it come that way? Seems like an excellent system.)
@@ipongrac Yes, you got it right before! I changed the bridge to a 2-point tremolo to gain stability because it came with a traditional bridge(6-screw). I'm a big fan of Ritchie, but when I play, those details come to me intuitively!

I've watched many of your other videos and they're all truly impressive, especially Schenker's Into the Arena (wow!), but I just have a special love for Ritchie's music and I'm most impressed by your ability to capture his style despite your very young age! Do you have a band or do any original music? (I had a friend tell me that it's a shame Ronnie Romero no longer lives in Madrid, you two could be quite amazing together!)
@@ipongrac Yes! Right now I’m in an AC/DC tribute band. It would be amazing to have the opportunity to play with Ronnie, I’ve seen he just sung for Michael Schenker’s last work!
