I'm a freelance writer and everything you said is correct! 😄 But I guess some people think that this is not a legit way of making money. 😅 It is!!! People want to pay writers because writing is time-consuming, and it's a skill, too. A lot of business owners don't have time to write, and they aren't very good at it because they are better at other things.

Alex, you sound like a very intelligent and capable woman. You're absolutely correct about writing. Many people think it's so easy. Sure, it may be easy to write a piece of mediocre work, but as writers and lovers of English, we know and fully understand the sheer amount of focus and dedication that is actually required to write an ENGAGING piece of writing. I almost completely agree with this comment. But writing is not only hard in English. I'm a Spanish native-speaker, and honestly, it's a whole different world, but it's not easier.
I have had an account open on fiverr since 2018. And i have seen a ton of videos but never actually tried becoming a seller. I found you this year and immediately became a seller and created my first gig. I dont know how you do it but every time i feel like quitting i look you up on youtube or tik tok and feel refreshed and as if everything is possible
I am questioning myself because i am selling myself as an english writer even though its not my first language because there is not a market in my native language. But still i am joining an english writing course. I am so sure i am going to make it just because of you.

I used to ALWAYS wait until the last minute to write my papers for school. Especially essays. But I remember this one Bibliography I had due that I kept putting off. I literally finished it in 2 hours before it was due at midnight. I received an A on that paper. I have always known that I have been great at writing because all my work has been graded as such. But a lot of that work was done last minute. I've followed you on tiktok for several months and like my essays I put off the decision to freelance. Until yesterday!! So far I have set up 2 COMPLETE gigs full of add ons. Followed all of your rules. Spent hours studying competitor gigs and how to set up mine similarly but unique to me. I've taken 2 tests that took me a good amount of time. I received my first badge for the free course lol. And so far I've had 22 impressions. I am working on my 3rd gig later today. With all of that, I just want to say thank you Alex for your transparency and your belief in all of us. Honestly, everytime I watch Sex and the City I always think; "Oh to be a writer like Carrie Bradshaw!" And then I remember I have to actually start!!! And you have made the process of STARTING so much easier! Thanks girl. You are truly awesome!!

I am just getting started. I finally decided to focus on writing seriously and I hope to be back here in a few months with my testimony!
I'm not a freelance writer, but I am a self-published author, and I've been toying with the idea of freelance writing for years now. But I never had time for it because I was working three jobs before covid. Now I'm down to one job at part-time hours, and suffered a workplace injury that is making me lose hours at work. Guess that's a sign saying to jump on the freelance gig. Thanks for the nudge forward, Alex!
Side note: listening to music is the best way I can immerse myself in my writing, especially when writing scenes in my novels. 😁

Honestly, there’s a lot of real-world study you can do. Think of some interesting niches (by that I mean figure out whether you’re interested in blogs, emails, social media, web content, landing pages, etc.) to start and GOOGLE ‘examples of effective ____ copy”. There are also newsletters from iconic copywriters like Gary Halbert that are free to get and see tips and the psychology behind it. That could spark some things for you. If you already enjoy researching and reading and writing, then you’re off to a good start. ✌🏽

All the hate about freelancing is nonsense. A brickie, a roofer, taxi drivers, even those immigrants picking vegetables and fruit are freelancers. The legal/ illegal condition or the entrepreneurship do not remove the fact that you only get the money when you deliver the work. No sick paid, no paid holidays, no safety net. And from someone who has failed as freelancer... is f... hard. Self discipline is key. Bye the way...did someone hire a video editor or she is learning the ropes? The video quality is improving.
