People were questioning my choice of survival hunter yday by looking at warcraftlogs rankings, but man u provin em wrong, hopefully I get there also. I'm currently kicking off in +14/15/16s in +m, but still struggling a bit on the ST for raid.
Survival Hunter is very good right now, don't listen to the non believers Do you have the new 4-set yet? It's a lot of practice mainly. The biggest general tip I can give for single-target is to get good with managing your focus. Kill commanding often (as long as it won't overcap you on focus) is generally good practice. If you see red bomb coming off CD then you can dump focus more but yeah focus is a bigger deal in single-target then aoe
Yeah, got the 4-set today, having a blast(literally) in +m. Haven't tried raiding yet tho, so I'll see how that goes. Thanks for the the tip!@@NimzeWoW
glad to see survival kicking ass. haven't resubbed this tier, will have to play vicariously through your videos. i saw the changes, basically mongoose strike is more or less filler and we kill command and bomb spam until our fingers fall off?
kind of. we still press mongoose bite but yeah bombs are kind of the focus again. it's not as spammy as in season 3 of shadowlands but it's pretty close
I will say it is a lot more fun then season 3 of shadowlands though. it's not just 2 buttons like it was then. we still press other buttons just bombs is at the forefront of our damage

Now, Ive recently had a quite interesting sim result.. So the the CA build (the one youre running in this vid) sims 0.2% better than a no CD build (w/ 2 points in ruthless mara) for me. I was wondering if you, by any chance, knew wether or not the sims are programmed to use pet attack optimally, like in the KS macro? Im sure this info is somewhere deep in discord or on reddit, but thought I might ask my fav surv, if you have any knowledge about this :D
Hey! Really happy to hear you're enjoying the videos 😁 Yeah the sims use the pet attack optimally so if the no CD build is only 0.2% behind then I'd totally run that. I'm pretty sure the survival sim has had some changes done to it today so I'd try re-sim the cd builds with a point or two in ruthless marauder and taking a point or two out from tactical advantage. Apparently there was a bug with the sims and ruthless marauder is actually now simming well in single-target with you channeling fury of the eagle until you cap on bomb charges. But this also means that the no CD build is even closer to the CD builds so that could also explain your sims. If you don't like coordinated assault or worry you won't get all your kill shots empowered going no CD is probably a good play anyway. With this boss I lost some damage because most of my kill shots didn't empower so I would have probably done more dps if I did the no CD build

@@anker1359 That's the perfect amount of mastery! But also sims are being really weird now. Or at least they've changed quite a lot. Mongoose bite is simming kinda bad, still fine in single-target but in aoe and for m+ it's simming better to just not use it and putting the point in ruthless marauder. The spec is weird right now. Same with the cooldowns, both of them are simming even worse then before and it's the same for me now too. No CD build is simming slightly higher on a 5 minute patchwork sim
Ummmm is bombs pooling into one details line new or custom? Last season I commented something about SV bomb dmg would be better respected if it was all in one line and alas it is!

I don't think I did for this kill. I ran it last night on our reclear though, but that was just using the no CD build mainly for fun. Also because the long travel time makes the Coordinated Assault build awkward to use on this fight. I will say putting 1 point into RM is actually pretty good now though. Sims were a bit bugged and it's better putting a point into RM in single-target then what we previously believed
I made a guide video the other week, if you skip it to the rotation part and skip ahead a little bit that shows what the opener usually looks like. As for trinkets just use them whenever really. If you use an on use trinket just use it alongside whichever cooldown lines up with it. For example if you use My'das make sure to use it with death chakram since those cooldowns line up. But with trinkets not being a global cooldown you can practically use them whenever you want, ideally on cooldown unless you have a specific trinket that is good for a certain situation. Say you are fighting a boss where you will get a damage amp in 20 seconds, it could be worth holding the trinket until then. Or say you have an aoe trinket (not really any of them this season) then wait to use it when some adds spawn

Oh no what have I done... Erm so technically BM is better right now. m+ it's questionable and survival is statistically better there but in the raid BM is kicking all kinds of butt. Survival just gets a lot of hate even though it's still really good right now so I like to just say it's busted so more people give it a try. I mean it all depends on which spec you prefer to play, both are really good and Blizzard has just announced there's some nerfs incoming on 5th December and it's very likely BM is on the chopping block where as Survival should be safe meaning it's a safe spec to play too. But yeah play whatever of the hunter specs you prefer. MM is awful right now though.

The thing in the middle that shows my ability/spell cooldowns is from an addon called 'tellmewhen' if that's what you are referring to. I can totally send my group profiles if you have the addon. Or do you mean a different thing on screen. My focus bar is a weak aura but that's about all
