This might be impossible to prove with todays's science in my opinion . For a clearer spectrum , let's start with the definition of matter . Matter is anything which occupies space and has mass . Light has photons but there mass is 0 (mass can't be zero but still ... we have many things to discover) and by my logic , light doesn't take up space too (very less to be negligible) . And , if we come on the thing that can light(energy) be converted into matter ?? The answer is yes , but it would require large amounts of energy not measured by mankind .

Photons are the components of electromagnetic waves, and these waves have energy but no mass. How's that possible? Let me tell you how. As E=mc² says, every matter which has energy has mass, photons which are called packed of energy should have mass too, and they do have it, they might not have rest mass but they do have something called relative mass (mass obtained in relation with some other property like velocity). But why? Coz matter has rest mass when they are stable and can exist in nature normally, but photons or electromagnetic waves are never in rest but exist only in the form of waves when they are in continuous motion, thus we can say that photons are packets of energy traveling at the speed of light which have relative mass. Due to this unique property they are classified as elementary particles. (things that make up other particles)

You really can think of light as a gas, says Humberto Michinel's team at the University of Vigo in Ourense. And like any gas, it can be made to condense into a liquid.
Visible light (or simply light) is an electromagnetic radiation. It has the wavelength ranges from 380 nm-780 nm. Light exists in tiny packets called photons. Photons have no rest mass and they do not occupy any volume. So light is not matter.😅😊
12:20 Light is made of particles called photons, bundles of the electromagnetic field that carry a specific amount of energy. With sufficiently sensitive experiments, you can count photons or even perform measurements on a single one. Researchers have even frozen light temporarily.

If we look at the definition of matter " Anything that has mass and occupies space is called matter". Now as Gurav sir said, light is made up of photons, and photons don't have but do occupies space, AND according to definition of matter, photons do fulfill one condition but defies second one. Thank you so much for studying so hard, for gathering so much information and most importantly for explaining such topics in so simple and interesting way that even an arts student like me can understand very clearly.
Light shows dualities like Photon-particals as well as electro-magnetic waves Don't you know? That anything occupying space is showing waves it doesn't need anything like mass.
I think light exist in a particle form in form of small particles - quanta and so l think on the regard of Max plank's quantum theory, it exist in any superfluid state of matter which does not need any medium because it is a medium itself with going in a direction
Photons are packets of energy, basically they are energy so, they don't have mass and cannot be considered as matter, also when it reachea an atom it is stored in atom and electron get ejected, so it doesn't posses any space... Thank you❤️
Yes,light is also a State because it contains proton sub particles and we know that proton also occupies spaces.I thinks that light is plasma or high temp particles
Light is composed of photons, so we could ask if the photon has mass. The answer is then definitely "no": the photon is a massless particle. According to theory it hasenergy and momentum but no mass, and this is confirmed by experiment to within strict limits.
In my book, there are 5 - solid, liquid, gas, plasma and bose-einstein condensate but the 4th and the 5th one is not in detail Thanks for giving us this info!
As u said light occupy some space And as we know Light is energy and also we know E=mc2 Mean light can be converted into mass ? So anything which occupy space and have mass is matter , Mean light is a matter ?
Great knowledge bro and thanks for sharing it with us. I have been seeing your videos from years and you never disappointed me. Good luck for your next journey to 10 M subscribers.
Light is not matter, but rather a form of energy: Definition of matter: Matter is defined as anything that has mass and occupies space. Characteristics of light: Light is made up of tiny packets of energy called photons, which have no mass and don't take up space. Classification: Light is a type of electromagnetic radiation that falls between the ultraviolet and infrared regions of the electromagnetic spectrum
I believe Light doesn't occupy space cuz we can pass light through each other i.e. photons as wave can exist in same space no matter if we have 1,2,3,4,... Rays of light in a certain space we can keep adding more

First thing: Light occupies space, but very differently tahn matter Light doesn't occupy any physical space, it is form of electromagnetic radiation, which consists of oscillating electric and magnetic fields that travel through space at the speed of light, but matter is not like this. and, the Second thing: the definition of matter is: ANYTHING which occupies space and has MASS light sure does occupy space in a way, but then... IT DOESN'T HAS ANY MASS! So, it doesn't fit any criteria for being a matter. I hope this clears the doubt. Thank you.
Yes bro , light has a state and that is quantum state, which can be described using quantum mechanics , according to principal of quantum mechanics , it has a state ie superposition and so on , but light dont have state like matter , but it can be discribed by quantum physics................
Those other states of matter are purely derived by first basic primitive matters,By the way nice effort to make an outstanding video but Science is really very hardest mystery which can't be solved(without ❗ exclamation mark!) so science textbooks only focus on simple things so as not to frighten the students otherwise they will surely skip to choose science stream in 11th Standard as still the percentage of science choosing candidates are really very low in our country as compared to arts(humanities),or commerce when the science textbooks only teach us about three major states of matter if the science book starts to teach us other states of matter majority candidates will start to hate science! 😂🤣
Bro humans love to learn new thing which are related to their daily life and existence. Even if these kind of things are added in our scl it will be not too much burden for us. Edit : Mainly in their childhood cuz human can catch thing more efficiently and faster than that of the adults .

That's why matter defination is mass and occupies space not only occupies space by the way for our information light have relativistic mass and it have energy.
Matter is defined as anything that has mass and occupies volume. Visible light (or simply light) is an electromagnetic radiation. It has the wavelength ranges from 380 nm-780 nm. Light exists in tiny packets called photons. Photons have no rest mass and they do not occupy any volume. So light is not matter. It is the radiation of energy.
Light, or electromagnetic radiation, does not have a state of matter because it is not a material substance made up of atoms or molecules. Rather, it is a form of energy that travels through space in the form of waves or particles called photons. While light can interact with matter and cause it to change state, such as by heating a solid to melt it into a liquid or vaporize it into a gas, light itself does not have a physical state of matter.
Nice question gaurav sir , i also thought it when i was in 11th standard, so according to my opinion light is a type of energy which is packed in think packets called photons so according to this light may not be considered as a matter ... Moreover photons are not charge carriers ( like electrons or quarks ) so light can't be categorised as matter... If i am wrong anywhere please correct me ....
@@dikshukaushik5048 neutron is not fundamental particle , it is made of quarks which contains charges ... But photos are not made of any other thing they are fundamental... ( Till today)
I think light is not matter because it made of photons whose mass is zero and we have learn that anybody which has mass and occupy space is called mass but light is made of photons whose mass is zero and donot occupy space so how it can be matter
Bruh it's not wrong it just hides what scientists know currently. U would have even learnt gravity as a force(which it is not) and that there are only 3 dimensions.

Photons can be considered a state of matter when they come together to form photonic molecules and it can either be man made.
Photons are packets of energy, basically they are energy so, they don't have mass and cannot be considered as matter, also when it reachea an atom it is stored in atom and electron get ejected, so it doesn't posses any space... Thank you❤️
According to E=mc² mass and energy are same, according to this definition energy has some contribution for mass

Light is composed of photons, so we could ask if the photon has mass. The answer is then definitely "no": the photon is a massless particle. According to theory it hasenergy and momentum but no mass, and this is confirmed by experiment to within strict limits.
In my book, there are 5 - solid, liquid, gas, plasma and bose-einstein condensate but the 4th and the 5th one is not in detail

And as we know Light is energy and also we know E=mc2
Mean light can be converted into mass ?
So anything which occupy space and have mass is matter ,
Mean light is a matter ?
Great knowledge bro and thanks for sharing it with us. I have been seeing your videos from years and you never disappointed me. Good luck for your next journey to 10 M subscribers.

Light has no mass
It can only go.
So it is no Matter
Bro pls make video on 'rigveda' as many scientists derived there theories from it
It contains ultimate knowledge
Light is not matter, but rather a form of energy:

Definition of matter: Matter is defined as anything that has mass and occupies space.

Characteristics of light: Light is made up of tiny packets of energy called photons, which have no mass and don't take up space.

Classification: Light is a type of electromagnetic radiation that falls between the ultraviolet and infrared regions of the electromagnetic spectrum
Kal mera isi chapter ka exam hai thanks explain karne ke liye 👍👍
Thanks guarav for giving us such a good knowledge and give us more like this
I believe Light doesn't occupy space cuz we can pass light through each other i.e. photons as wave can exist in same space no matter if we have 1,2,3,4,... Rays of light in a certain space we can keep adding more

Oh my god
Wow
here we are talking about matter, not about different substances...
This gonna to be most interesting topic because it is related to my class 11 chemistry, 🙂
Yep 👍🏻
First thing: Light occupies space, but very differently tahn matter
Light doesn't occupy any physical space, it is form of electromagnetic radiation, which consists of oscillating electric and magnetic fields that travel through space at the speed of light, but matter is not like this.
and, the Second thing:
the definition of matter is: ANYTHING which occupies space and has MASS
light sure does occupy space in a way, but then... IT DOESN'T HAS ANY MASS! So, it doesn't fit any criteria for being a matter.
I hope this clears the doubt.
Thank you.
Big fan sir you can explain anything briliantly
Khana kha ke paad diya to naya state of matter form hua
@@telegamingff6196 hmm😃may be ☺️😊

That's why matter defination is mass and occupies space not only occupies space by the way for our information light have relativistic mass and it have energy.
Light is not matter because their have not volume
Thanks, Gaurav sir for this amazing information. Keep sending informative videos like this.

My school has taught me also 108 states of matter. I read by my universal board which situated in my mind

We all want a part 2🔥
Light, or electromagnetic radiation, does not have a state of matter because it is not a material substance made up of atoms or molecules. Rather, it is a form of energy that travels through space in the form of waves or particles called photons.
While light can interact with matter and cause it to change state, such as by heating a solid to melt it into a liquid or vaporize it into a gas, light itself does not have a physical state of matter.
Your all videos are very informative sir 😍😍
Nice question gaurav sir , i also thought it when i was in 11th standard, so according to my opinion light is a type of energy which is packed in think packets called photons so according to this light may not be considered as a matter ... Moreover photons are not charge carriers ( like electrons or quarks ) so light can't be categorised as matter...
If i am wrong anywhere please correct me ....
Google can never be wrong lol🤣
neutron also not posseses any charge
and photon carry em what about it?
@@dikshukaushik5048 neutron is not fundamental particle , it is made of quarks which contains charges ...
But photos are not made of any other thing they are fundamental...
( Till today)
I think light is not matter because it made of photons whose mass is zero and we have learn that anybody which has mass and occupy space is called mass but light is made of photons whose mass is zero and donot occupy space so how it can be matter
Gaurav, u r very powerful, pl attire yourself in formals , it'll add to digest contents with more Power.
