I saw him yesterday at the Rio in Vancouver BC, for the second time, according to me he is one of the greatest poet and musician we have in Canada (after Young and Cohen;-)...He is radiant, fun and full of love for the audience! We love you Ron!!!

when i first heard ron on wvkr yesterday those sweet ornamental runs in his singing set me to thinking "where have i heard those before?" and today i remembered: some of Ijahman Levi's singing has them also.

I was asked by a friend of Ron Sexsmith to come to St. Catharines and meet him. That was about me being a pro lead-guitarist vocalist when Ron was doing a solo acoustic thing. I started harmonizing with Ron, word for word, and he stopped playing and started asking, who do you think I sound like, who do you think I sound like, getting his friends upset with me. Feeling pressured, I said Paul Young. Ron stopped and started smiling, saying that's true. He also said he used to imitate Neil Diamond. This was a long, long time ago, not using all the words.
I'm sorry, but next to Tim Buckley, Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, Joni Mitchell, and almost EVERYONE I could name from the classic Singer/Songwriter period, this guy's a mayonnaise sandwich on white. Was he neutered at birth?!

i used to work security at a local tv station, I got to have a private concert with the sound engineer and Ron i will never forget it.
