Thelma writes: Erica, I did exactly the same way as you did when I covered my sewing room lamp shade. It is quite a simple and straight forward project. I really love the Fig Tree fabric, so pretty and vintagy, makes your room so cozy. Thank you for the ever always fun videos, Erica. Bless you all.
I am so glad I found you because I had no idea how to put this on without it being all crooked or adding a middle piece to my lampshade. I was just that’s awesome I looked that’s just perfect the way you showed it thank you so much.
Hi Erica. Great video, my lampshade came out perfectly! I have one step to add for easy “ clean up” next time I will use plan packing paper or something throw away to protect my surface. This time I used a discard piece of muslin. Getting the overspray adhesive off the fabric is a chore if you want to use for something else.
So CUTE! I can't wait to make one of these with a lamp shade for all seasons. I know your lamp came from IKEA, can you tell me what the name of it is? I'd love that size for my desk at school.
It was actually a plain base for their Christmas Stars. I removed the star and added a plain white lampshade! www.ikea.com/us/en/p/strala-table-lamp-base-white-60333195/?gclid=CjwKCAiA_vKeBhAdEiwAFb_nrcNL7Gn2BPbmFRNIIPp48NDpZfuEpKaYPsPGhPxliFUjFM5FKHTe9xoChl4QAvD_BwE
Wow! I have some old shades that need help. I think I will try this. I have asthma, so no spray glue for me. Maybe mod podge will work. It won't hurt to try. I could just buy a new shade if it doesn't work.
Best lamp tutorial I have seen yet!
I love the way you put the ribbon!
I was going to buy a new lampshade in my sewing room but now I am going to try this. Great timing. Thanks!!
I always notice that cute lamp. TFS!

I have a big lampshade and it is hard to make a template. A video for a bigger lampshade (empire) would be great!!!
I LOVE THIS!!!!
Where did you purchase the lamp?

Or maybe wear a mask and do it outside? Or you could even try fabric glue instead of spray.
Can you buy my lamp shades
Really cute!
Super cute!
