I’m glad I’m not the only one that hates Lennox wiring diagrams. Completely useless
I work at a mcdonalds and I know first hand how every mcdonalds is mickey-moused and falling apart. Wish you were the guy who fixed our systems, at least then I'd know if I get a call not to come to work cause the place burned down it wouldnt be from the HVAC systems.
Thanks for doing what you do man
Im 8 yrs in and cheers to you brother. May take me another 8 be as quick and sharp as you sir.
Besides the skillset, good content ;) funny tech humor! Ty for sharing brother.
😂 thank you!
Good job Rick, I would make them replace the control module and install a new disconnect, it's not safe with just wire nuts.
I used to carry the Honeywell S8610U intermittent spark module....they are awesome to have around. Those blue ones are junk....replaced them every winter. As always......great video....thanks for sharing Rick
I love my MB5B. Definitely the perfect sized bag for everyday calls
I use to carry two spark and two hsi universal controllers, plus 2 control boards every Lennox furnace and few carrier boards. My truck stock is a joke now.
@HVACRSurvival probably staying busy....and because of that...its hard to get to the parts house to restock. I honestly dont carry very much. I have a few capacitors, transformers, SPDT and DPDT relays and contactors. I have a utility bed, so with all my tools...not room for truck stock items.
Always interesting to read the comments. It's like some videos hit the algorithm differently. Some videos are all techs commenting and some are a mix of techs and non HVAC people.
I'll be in Ohio for Christmas to visit the family. Happy holidays Rick!
Thanks! I hope you have a good Christmas and New Years as well!
You are best in field who realy explains and shows all .
Thanks but I’m not really that experienced on this controller, just the hardware.
Nice work Rick. Man that place is a junkyard.
Wow! These units still run somewhat with that much wrong is amazing. I know why you wear a baseball cap, you must be bauld after pulling out your hair trying to make this run. Thanks for making this video.
Rick, Great find on the no power switch ! Thanks for being so professional !
Good stuff Rick. We have taken over new store accounts and has been a nightmare. Looks like my 16 yr old did the work. I feel your pain. Can’t wait to get my mb5b. Great video!
You will love the MB5B.
It would be cool if you did a showcase of that new veto bag. Looks nice to carry
Much appreciated what you do for us, especially in the cold.
OSHA approved at 1:22 🤣🤣🤣
likely relies upon all the pipes staying fastened in place to keep the cross-bars located.
Great Video. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for freezing your huevos off to bring us another video! That disconnect was super high quality. I want that guy to come retire my house! Thanks for another one!! Be safe!!
“Door slams” that’s really good on my meter. Haha I’m dying
I cut out my retaliation 🤣
I feel the pain with Lennox unit , it seems there is always someone that is always cutting wire and not learning the set up , then its trying to figure how to get unit to work some what the right way, just about all the economizes have been hacked up in this area good video brother
I spent some time today going over the schematic and manual. I’m hoping it’s just sensors but I really need to get back in front of it to figure it out. They told me I had another call so I wanted to get out out of there then canceled it after I rushed out. Go figure.
@@HVACRSurvivalI hate that when they cancel after acting like it's an emergency. I had a call that called in, then called back and said it was a plumbing issue, then called back and said nvm we need you, then canceled as I was about to leave. If you're that clueless get somebody who knows something lol.
Hard to believe that corporate lets the units go mickey mouse so badly. Easy to keep them running correctly and not get into so much dis-repair that the unit should be replaced. Looks like they all needed to be replaced. Thanks for a great video.
I used to work on McDonald’s equipment. Many of these franchisees have multiple stores and it’s up to them to keep their mechanical systems running. Corporates only concern is that the restaurant and food equipment is working. Corporate stores are even worse. 😅
True story here 👆👆
I got that bag and love it. Waiting for a few more inserts from veto.
I like it allot so far
Awesome video it is a shame people don't take pride in there work like you do
Thank you! I appreciate your support.
Good vid Rick ... Thx Sir
Great content, Rick!
Thanks Steve!
The location of that ignition module on the Lennox is a crime against humanity.
I heard they murder little puppy dogs trying to get them in there. 😊👍👍
Ur friend Mikey Pipes just showed a pretty cool way to check heat exchanger failure. G call with manometer on vacuum line between combustion fan and p switch. If you pull any negative pressure with the fan running you can bet your diddly the Hx is cactus 👌
Nice job, we loves ya Rick. Can’t wait for the next nasa series 👍👌
Starting my first food service tech job monday
Good luck, it’s dirty work but you’ll get the chance to learn some new things if you haven’t done it before.
We are lucky to be able to do what we do .....maybe you had a bad day
Excuses, excuses. We'll be running the A/C off and on for at least another few weeks. (Houston)
I am surprised that company allowed such shoddy work. When I did work for them, everything was done right, neat, and clean. No wires were left dangling, unplugged or anything like what you saw in those units. Sometimes my travel time would be 5 times what I was on the job. And they had no problems with my charges. Maybe they are getting lax on their maintenance.
The people that own the store also own the service company.
@@HVACRSurvival If they have their own service company might be part of the problem. I did a lot of work for one operator who had about 18 to 20 stores. He had his own people for light maintenance, anything beyond that I was involved.
Actually, the guys they got are pretty good. They’ve even taught me some stuff.
Strange with the exhaust fan in the kitchen running there would been a negative air problem without any fresh air entering . Where I worked if the doors to kitchen did`t close a exhaust fan was`t working. If they slammed shut a the main unit the belt was slipping .
I think you should purposefully slam that door on your meter about 50 times, to spite the wind doing it. 🤪🤪
I'm not a HVAC guy, so here's a question: how rare is it see that wires in the control board have wiretags? In industrial electrical panels, everything is neat and tidy, especially the wiring diagrams.
Sometimes the wires are numbered. This was a wreck from poor maintenance. Normally there not this bad.
Those black IG modules are newer than the blue Johnson ones. I rip out lots of those blues during heating season
That’s what I found out after recording the video. Your correct 👍
@@HVACRSurvival allied has a way of confusing everyone with their parts until you do the same repair a few odd times. I deal a lot with Lennox and I have so many useless part numbers in my head I get made fun of by my co workers lol
Nice job Rick. Always very thorough this industry needs more techs like you.
I feel ya on the L series or K series lennox units. They are so hard to troubleshoot and all the wires come zip tied every 3 inches for whatever reason. Haven't seen one hardwired with no disconnect tho, thats definitely some billy bob shit.
🤣👍👍
We look after that chains cooking equipment. We all collectively hate their fryers.
Luckily we don’t have to do hot side.
@@HVACRSurvival my advice if they ever ask, say no. I've got an AIO board for a fryer sitting on my truck that has to be a first call because they get so busy and we have a slim window to get in and do our job.
Thays definitely a mcds , I work in em too
Lucky us 😂. The damper motor was bad. I went back yesterday, OA temp read 130 while it was 39 outside. But the free cool light was on. Have you had that issue?
High limit behind the blower is trashed
Did he use A) Wire Brush B) Sand cloth C) $100Bill D) Grinder … to clean that flame sensor.
I always use my stainless steel little brush. Sandpaper is crazy and I’m not impressed with the dollar bill idea.
Gotta hit test and shift in order to put it on test mode
Then selecte C for cooling or H for heat
Test alone will not do anything
I think I got the correct manual this time. It didn’t help that I had another call I had to get to and it was already 430. It should’ve read what the outdoor temperature was and it should’ve either gave me codes that were old or shown zero after I reset it but instead it kept showing that 888
@@HVACRSurvival yeah lennox can be complicated buddy but I completely understand them endless never ending days with constant calls man
Hope all is well brother
New bag I see the mb4?
5B
Yep. I like it so far
Do they normally do their own HVAC Work or does another company do it? if it's another company they should re-think their contract!
They own the store and the maintenance company. Were the outsider
What kind of gloves are those?
I believe there Jersey’s just heavy weight. There under $10
oooh a nightmare lol jk nice vid
That whirlpool OTR microwave behind you, doesn't have any manufacturer parts available either.... aside from the glass turntable and sprocket.. 🤣The more compact and complicated these systems become the harder it is to come by techs willing to thing outside the box to repair it....todays residential refrigeration appliances are crap... rant over....
Agreed 👍
you seemed a little upset today?
