    Love that feeling when something fires up after teaching yourself how to fix something! The relief and personal pride is one of life's great feelings!

    Always a good idea to start the video with the make and model of the furnace you’re working on, so people can search for what’s relevant to them. You also need to show the step by step of removing the draft inducer motor and reinstall, not the unit already removed.

    Thanks for the video. As soon as you said water sloshing I knew that was my problem. My drain lines were clogged with debris. Cleaned and it works fine.

    Thanks for the video. Did you have to wait until the inducer motor dried up before turning on the furnace again?

    Same issue here as well. Thought it was the flame sensor so I replaced that ($6). Furnace would fire up and work for about an hour and then it couldn't keep up. I ended up hearing a gargling sound from the inducer motor and just lifted the drain in the p-trap and water came out for a few seconds. I think something had gotten clogged in the line. Furnace works great now and probably saved myself $300!

    When I had water in my inducer fan housing I just disconnected the vent from the fan output port, shoved a small tube down into the housing, and siphoned the water out. Mellow, with just a light tang of lady bug.

    Well, Only if we need to drain out the exhaust fan, but the exhaust pipe is in the way, or rather the tricky part maybe reconnecting the exhaust pipe.

    I just installed a godmad furnace and when I tried to turn it on it didn’t, like inducer motor came on,igniter came on ,gas valve tried to open but it doesn’t hold the flame 🔥 and then blower motor came on but there is not flame , and it’s starts again,for second time burner came on but just a second before the blower comes on the burner goes off and blower motor starts running,is there a chance that could be water on it ….

    you stopped the video after the gas burners came on but before the blower motor came on which sometimes the gas burners go back out especially with the cover back on the furnace

      I had an amana command 90 that was leaking water from somewhere and I found out that that plastic box that the inducer motor is attached too was cracked in about 3 places at the corners.....This happened after about 10 years on a new furnace.....Installed a new box and all is well.

    Isn't that yellow cap capping off an inducer housing drain port. Most FAU's inducers can be configured for up-flow, horizontal left or horizontal right where the installer would make sure that drain port is at the bottom. seems like the housing will collect condensation same as before but at a slower rate.

    Hi, Did this solve your problem permanently? I'm having the same problem. I've drained the Inducer motor (black piece that you emptied the water from) several times but the water keeps coming back in the inducer motor after about 4-5 days.
    Maybe I need to check all the lines to see if one is clogged

      Hey Darius I just changed out my inducer motor about an hour ago. I noticed there was water and what appeared to be seeds in the motor. The blades of the motor were not rotating as easy as the new one. I have a feeling the bearings in mine and yours my have worn out and so the fan is not rotating properly kicking up the condensation into the drain pipes. Also check the hoses from the pressure lines they may be clogged as well. Hope this helps. New part was around $190

    We had a service technician come out and give a yearly inspection. He said our inducer is going bad and it’s leading to condensation to pool up at the base of the unit. So I asked him how much it will cost to repair and he said $800.00. I don’t understand this as I looked up the part on Amazon and it’s listed for $75.00. Am I missing something?

    • @reno5948
      @reno5948 2 года назад +1

      No you’re not missing anything, it’s just that most of these trades are out to take people for all they can. If you have not done so, order the part and install it yourself. I just replaced the DRAFT INDUCER on my 1997 Armstrong Ultra SX90 high efficiency furnace last week. $150 for the part from NOBLE. I had also replaced the original inducer 8 years ago. At that time the part cost $80, inflation I guess.
