We, as fans, are spoiled. We're not going to blowout everybody we play. We over-expect. I will admit, as a fan, I do not want games we barely win, where the outcome is uncertain until the finals minutes (and in some cases seconds) of the game (or overtime in the Iron Bowl). I want pretty wins that we win by two or more scores, not ugly wins, but I'll take a win anyway I can get it. We can't win the national championship every single year, that's simply not going to happen. We can't win the SEC Championship every single year, that's not gonna happen either. Coach Saban is exactly right, and I like how Eli Gold complements him at the end.
I guess I’m the only one that can see Sabans getting pissed off. What are all y’all gonna say when you finally piss him off and he takes the Florida job?
If it's not Saban saying this, but a losing coach, how would this be recieved? Would people view it as an excuse for losing and gaslighting fans who want to win? I agree with what he is saying but just a thought.
Agreed. He created this monster and it is HIS responsibility to have them ready. I am like you - nothing the said is wrong but I don’t make 9 million a year to have a football team ready. He is the secondary coach and a defensive genius - right. Why is the secondary horrible? Why is the defensive coordinator inept or so it appears? That’s on him not the fans!
@@wildcat5252 Great points. He didn't say anything wrong, but he should have also addressed some of their weaknesses and what they can do to fix them because everyone can see them struggle. Like you said, they get paid a lot of money to do this. You don't get to take the money and side step criticism even if you are the legendary Nick Saban. So some poodles ...dogs ....whatever get on here and say he says that bc other coaches are closing in on him or he created the monster so it's an excuse he's giving for losing a game or two a year ? Bruh give me a break. Alabama loses one game and Georgia fans forget who the most dominant team in college football for a decade is. All college football fans are like that for their team. All I've heard for years is how it's Georgia's year. Since the 1980s or something it hasn't been. So how about live up your undefeated season....get a natty then probably disappear for another 30 years or whatever is normal. But no coach will match Nick Sabans accomplishments in the same time frame he did. This is legendary and bama fans are happy to have the guy. Visit this comment after sat night .
Facts we were expected to demolish Texas A&M we lost Georgia was expected to demolish us in 2015 at their own home cause we just lost at home to Ole Miss but we blew them out on the road in the rain. That was our first underdog game since 2008 SEC Championship Game and last until this year 2021 SEC Championship Game underdog by 4 which I hope puts a fire under them. They are young 18-20 freshman and sophomores barely out of high school and still 11-1 in toughest conference and toughest division of college football most teams this young would be 5-7 6-6 or 7-5 at the very best and we’re 11-1. May not be pretty but I’d rather win big or close than to lose. Like we just beat Auburn 24-22 in 4 OT (first OT in Iron Bowl History) after being 10-0 down in the 4th and they came back and won it wasn’t pretty but it was a win!!! That sad I’m scared to play Georgia cause we can’t play like we just did and win. We need to play like how we did against Miami (then ranked 14) 44-13 Ole Miss (then 12 now 8/9 and probably gonna be higher after beating Mississippi State on the road) and Mississippi State who beat 15 Texas A&M on the road the week before we lost to them and was suppose to be “trap” game for us and we won 49-9. That’s how we need to play in order to play a team like Georgia. All of our games are bowl eligible teams except Southern Miss won 63-14 and New Mexico State 59-3. We have blown out 7 of 12 games and won all 4 top 25 teams as a very young team of boys freshly out of high school. There may have been many mistakes and I may have been angry many games but I’m proud of what this young team has accomplished!!! Roll Tide!!! (If this is us a a freshman/sophomore team imagine next two years as a sophomore/junior and junior/senior teams).
Let us get real here folks. This is just football; and at the end of the day, it is just entertainment. Apart from entertainment, the only thing it provides is exercise and learning to work hard for those who take part in it. As for Saban being the greatest college coach of all time, it is laughable when one considers that he has only won national championships at schools that already had a legacy of championships. If he truly was the greatest coach, he would have won a national title at Michigan State. The true test of coaching greatness is to take a program with no legacy of championships and build it into a consistent championship team. Winning at any legacy programs will never indicate if a coach is great, but they will prove if someone is a bad coach (example - Gerry Denardo at LSU). The competition in college football is a farce (who actually wants to watch Alabama beat up on teams like Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Vandy, etc.) The NFL is the only place where one can see great competition week to week because the teams are more evenly matched. The only way the FBS can be fixed is to create a new division made up of only the legacy teams (those that consistently garner most of the 4 and 5 star recruits). This would make the teams in each of the three levels of FBS more evenly matched; thus, providing better competition.
@@detectif1061 What type of argument is that? You do not mention a specific thought that I am wrong about and give no evidence to back it up. If it is about my statements about Saban, I will just say that he reminds me of some so-called "great" high school coaches that leave a school as soon as the talent falls off and move to a school with more talent, so their legacy of winning does not take a hit. Because the talent level in the NFL is more even between teams, the NFL provides a better platform to judge coaching greatness.
LSU was about as mediocre a team as you could find when Saban got there. SEC and National Championship. Alabama was in shambles for more than a decade before Saban got there. Multiple SEC and National Championships. Alabama may not want to hear this, but the Alabama job is actually quite difficult. They play in the most difficult division in the best conference in America. The state is not as talent rich as Florida, Texas, Louisiana, and Georgia. They have to share the spotlight and fight with Auburn for recruits in their own state. Not to mention rabid fans who expect excellence, as they should. There is absolutely no guarantee whatsoever that just because you have been good, you will stay good. See Nebraska, Texas, Florida, USC, Tennessee, etc. The situation Saban inherited at Alabama was not like Riley or Miles or Smart had. Those programs were ready to go from day one, with fantastic players and a winning culture already in place. Saban had a much bigger job than those guys did. What Spurrier did at Florida was perhaps even more amazing considering Florida had never even won the SEC in its first 80 years.
@@darthnatas953 The legacy schools (those that get all the 4-star and 5-star athletes virtually every year) cannot prove that a coach is great, but they can most assuredly prove that a coach is terrible (examples: Gerry Denardo at LSU and Mike DuBose at Alabama). It is interesting to me that these "so-called" great coaches always leave mid-level schools to coach at legacy schools, so they can compete for national titles. Even Nick Saban knows that he could never win a national title at Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Vandy, Arkansas, South Carolina, Kentucky, or Missouri because these teams have always been mid-level teams. Coaches go to these teams to build their resumes until a legacy job opens up. Every time a new coach shows up at one of these teams claiming that he will lead them to a national title, I just want to gag over such drivel. They are the worst liars in the world. College football and high school football are more about the "Jimmys and Joes" and don't really depend as much on coaching acumen as does the NFL where there is more equity in the "Jimmys and Joes" between teams. Any coach that truly wants to show his skills should try to do so on the ultimate level - the NFL. This is the reason that I believe that the coach with the greatest "Xs & Os" acumen is Bill Belichick (especially coaching defense). Other than Tom Brady, most of his players have not been the big superstars like those found on other teams. He seems to be able to get greatness out of players that very few people have even heard about.
Enjoy your win today. Young not called for intentional grounding twice on the drive to tie 10-10. What are the chances no holding occurred as well? GA will ensure Alabama is done. GA vs Cinn and MI vs ND.
Saban when he gets pissed always likes to bring up basically you all weren't shit when I got here well we did win more than one game he will never in my mind and heart take coach Bryant's place
The sec is truly a gritty type of conference and people truly don't realize how hard it is to truly get through the sec. It truly is the best conference in all of football. Teams throw the kitchen sink at bama
What fans really expect is for CNS and that poor coaching staff to take multiple top recruiting classes and develop them into great college players. Don't blame the fan expectations on your poor coaching hires. In fact, if you are worrying about the fans, you are fully unfocused on the job at hand and that has showed in abundance during this season. Get off your duff and go hire some decent coaches instead doing ESPN interviews and AFLA commercials. AND, hiring coaches NOBODY else wants or ones that could not coach at the high school level for better teams isn't getting it done.
100%. Bama fans are in for a very rude awakening when Saban walks away. It’s not a Bama thing - it’s a Saban thing. I can almost guarantee that he can go to another outfit tomorrow and flip half the top 25 recruits and make it an immediate contender.
No, it's absolutely a "Bama thing" just as much as it is a "Saban thing". The Alabama football program has dominated college football and won national championships for the South ever since the 1920s. And while Nick Saban's current Alabama dynasty is the greatest ever, it's not the first one. This is the fourth different dynasty Alabama's had in their combined history. They've won more national championships than everyone else and it isn't even close. This has not been a 'Saban only' affair because Alabama was a superpower winning championships before Nick arrived. That university sits in the heart of blue chip recruiting country, and it prioritizes football more than any other school in America. They are fully committed to the game of football, and they have the wealth & resources to make whatever it is they wish to achieve come to fruition. Of course Nick Saban has been the driving factor behind this dynasty. I'm not disputing that. All I'm saying is that the Alabama Crimson Tide brand name was already a highly respected one. Otherwise they never would've been able to lure Nick Saban away from the NFL. You don't leave a professional franchise like the Miami Dolphins in the first place if the prestige and potential in your job vacancy isn't already there.

That's why Lou Holtz was successful talk up other teams also Coach that way
I needed this
Legend
I guess I’m the only one that can see Sabans getting pissed off. What are all y’all gonna say when you finally piss him off and he takes the Florida job?
Why would he want to go there? He’s got it easy at Bama, no matter what he says
You got to love Nick 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I think Rick needs to start preaching once he retires from coaching!👍
They don’t get paid to play here? Yes they fucking do
As a Tennessee fan I would play for that coach.
Truth!!
Thanks Nick
That’s how you respect another team
Maybe apparently so since this comment section is full of AMENs. Lol.
As a UGA fan I love Kirby but we are all over him when he messes up. Maybe too much sometimes. He doesn't get to just tell us beating Bama is hard. We expect him to do it.
Sabans version of "Are you not entertained?"
Tell 'em again Nick!
Wish he was this passionate about the shortcomings of his OC and DC. 😏
TRUTH!! ROLL TIDE
During an undefeated run, a Bama fan I know actually said, "This is our worst year to win the championship."
I had to watch this a few times lol
Just heard Saban is coming back to LSU to teach Alabama fans a lesson
That's the RUMOR!!!!
that dude next to Saban looks as if he was creaming in his pants
As a gator fan I like and respect Nick Saban 🐊
“Our players don’t get paid!” I’m an Alabama fan but bro you just bragged earlier in the year about Bryce Young having 7 figures in the bank from his image rights lmao
The real fans weren't actually expecting a banner year we knew we list a bunch going in we knew we were getting injuries we just thought this was a warm up year for next year and no matter what Saban has our love the boys have our love were all in it together win or lose number 1 or absolutely fail every game doesn't matter were the tide were proud no matter what
Nahh you know Nick was mad he had to choose what words to say
Yeah he almost said ass but instead he said work their butt off.
Rat poison is rat poison 😂
I'm a huge OU fan SOONER BORN AND SOONER BRED, win or lose I Love my OKLAHOMA SOONERS and Coach Lincoln Riley too! BOOMER SOONER!!
Coach Riley, lol. He may be a chicken, but he isn't stupid. He knows what is about to happen.
No one can understand it Coach Saban because they are not as smart as you are and they don’t listen and that capital letters LISTEN listen
well I certainly don't expect a win against Georgia but would like to know by how many points they win by

Yesssssss
This would make the teams in each of the three levels of FBS more evenly matched; thus, providing better competition.
you have no idea what you are talking about.
I'll revisit this comment Saterday night lol

What fans really expect is for CNS and that poor coaching staff to take multiple top recruiting classes and develop them into great college players. Don't blame the fan expectations on your poor coaching hires. In fact, if you are worrying about the fans, you are fully unfocused on the job at hand and that has showed in abundance during this season. Get off your duff and go hire some decent coaches instead doing ESPN interviews and AFLA commercials. AND, hiring coaches NOBODY else wants or ones that could not coach at the high school level for better teams isn't getting it done.
Roll Tide!!!
Most of their fans are Just Bammers, don't even know where the stadium is.

A little late here, but yeah that needed to be said, but I’m sure it fell of deaf ears. Bama fans are obnoxiously self entitled. It’s like “Oh we’re the greatest! We’re greatest that ever was or will be!” They think they should win every game, and when they lose or don’t perform to their specifications, oooooh god it’s the end of the world. I thought it was pretty clear but I’ll try this again. The fans he is talking down about are the reason sports are valued so high. The only reason he gets the 10 million a year. The only reason professionals get millions a year. It’s because of fans who buy shit. If there were no fans, there wouldn’t be a value to sports. So instead of complaining about the people who like to win maybe appreciate the life he gets to live coaching a game that in all reality means nothing!!
