    That big crater has three rings around it like it was hit three times in athe exact same spot, but I think it was done by one mpact when the surface was still molten . The rings were casued by waves in the melted surface of the moon and they hardeend in place. Levingmountains that eroded slightly over time from micro meteor immpacts. It's a beutiful sight! Simple an dcomplex at the same time.

    I really enjoyed this video. These are some of the sharpest images I've seen of the Moon. I still don't understand why the LRO doesn't show higher resolution narrow angle images. It's not as though it is looking through an atmosphere and it's orbit I'm sure is much closer to the surface than any satellite orbiting the Earth. Regardless of that one gripe, I want to thank NASA for their hard work. It's because these great Americans that we can be apart of this great space adventure.

    I can sometimes see the moon better in photos if I take them during the day or around sunset before the sun is gone. It gets some lovely shades of colour at sunset too. The seas of serenity and tranquility look like two foot pads of a very big paw print with three other craters as toe pad prints. That'd be one monstrous sized alien though. I'm not sure what those three craters are yet. The only ones I knew about (for years) are serenity and tranquility. They became my favorites as I could always see them.

    • @nottherealpaulsmith

      Those seas were formed back when the inside of the moon was still molten. Magma would occasionally spill out over large plains, hardening to form darker rock.

    The Moon's Tycho crater may be considerably younger than stated here. From the 1950s through the 1990s, NASA aerodynamicist Dean Chapman and others advanced the lunar origin theory of tektites. Chapman used complex orbital computer models and extensive wind tunnel tests to support the theory that the so-called Australasian tektites originated from the Rosse ejecta ray of Tycho. Until the Rosse ray is sampled, a lunar origin for these tektites cannot be ruled out.

      This is counterintuitive. Experiments with high speed impacts, here on Earth, showed a surprising thing. Over a wide range of impact angles, the resulting crater is nearly circular. Only very glancing blows produce elongated craters. The reason is that the kinetic energy of the impactor is converted into compression and heating of a relatively small amount of material. That hot, compressed material then expands in a roughly spherical pattern, just as the hot, compressed gases from a conventional explosive expand in a nearly spherical pattern.

Clearly it's possible, since NASA certainly uses something like that to produce these fantastic videos. But what about the rest of us? How can WE drive or fly around the Moon?

    Wondering if the Victor Hasselblad cameras for the moon pictures had gold tent on them like the astronaut's visors? If not, it would have been a good way to see everything the way they did. A great NASA discovery on the moon. NASA discovered a line (big crack) in the moon, in the middle of the moon that goes around the hall moon and it goes surface to surface. It was resulted from the splitting of the moon into two halves. This is the story: When people of Makka (the home-town of the prophet Mohammad were arguing with him, asking him: If you Mohammad say you are prophet and Messenger of God, prove it. How can we believe you? He asked them back: What do you want me to prove for you? They asked him to split the moon. Prophet Mohammad asked Allah to help him and let it happen. Allah did respond to his prayer and let the moon split. Some of them believed and witnessed: There is no God but Allah, and Mohammad is His messenger. Some others denied what they saw and started accusing the prophet to play magic and tricking their eyes. Even after they asked new comers to the town at that night if they saw the moon splitting and they said yes we saw it. Still accused the prophet to play continuous magic. This story was mentioned in the Holy Qur'an in a chapter called the Moon mentioning such splitting. Here is NASA came and spent billions of dollars on space programs to prove that miracle for the lovely prophet Mohammad. The head of NASA became a Muslim after this discovery as there was not any source in the world to explain such a line in the moon but The Holy Qur’an in the chapter called: The Moon. Actually at that night all the world saw it including the king of India as was walking around his castle after which he came to see the prophet then become a Muslim and went back to India, but he was died in his way back in Yemen and his tomb is in Yemen till this time. Also, there is an old building in those great mountains in China. The history stone of that building states: This building was built in the year the moon split into two halves. This splitting of the moon and the huge crack NASA discovered is a clear proof that prophet Mohammad is the Messenger of God (Allah) Allah is so Merciful to us showing us the signs and signs to help us follow the right way and on the steps of the Truth. So believe and come to Allah and witness that: There is no god but Allah, and that Mohammad is His messenger. And Jesus himself gave his people good tidings of a prophet coming after him his name is Ahmad which is one of the prophet Mohammad names. Do we love Jesus? So respond to him and follow the prophet Mohammad (if you are sincerely following the Truth). Thank you

    The Moon is an amazing place! It's amazing that The Moon is almost 75% the size of the planet Mercury. It's a large natural satellite for our Earth. It's a good thing we have The Moon. The topography and spectroscopy measurements taken are amazing! I'd love to see more lunar missions! LRO wasn't sent to just take nice pictures. It studied topography, craters, albedo, particle radiation, heat emission, elemental and chemical composition using UV and neutron spectroscopy, etc! Planetary exploration is extremely difficult! Spectacular!

    • @umachan9286
      @umachan9286 4 года назад

      More or less. While it's true that hydrogen was the main element created after the big bang there was a small amount of helium and lithium as well. But everything else? Either made in the heart of a star that exploded or in some reactor / particle accelerator somewhere.

    I want the Moon to be closer to Earth so that it looks bigger in the sky and that there is less gravity because the moon would be pulling us away from the Earth surface.

    • @john_titor1
      @john_titor1 10 лет назад +2

      not appreciably. The distance required in order to even noticeably feel a difference would be too close to support a stable lunar orbit.

    • @monoham1
      @monoham1 10 лет назад

      well if you have a couple $b USD you could always pay to have a 1-10km wide asteroid pulled into a 500-1000km orbit over your house... probably wouldn't dwarf the moon though ... and itd burn up after a few decades

    We haven't visited the moon since because it is too expensive. (We have to develop a heavy lift rocket stronger then the Saturn V, the most powerful machine ever made) In fact, Nasa had a program (Constellation) that would have men on the moon in the year 2013, but it was cancelled. Mars is a better option for some sort of outpost because it has resources that we can use, such as ice and a thin atmosphere which may be exploited.
