I found this video while trying to figure out how to open a Mophie powerstation. This video is great and could not be done in way that could be any more down to earth than it is. The video maker clearly has went through the same processes and frustrations we have all faced when trying to figure something out that there are no instructions to and no obvious steps to take to get something done. His accent adds to the extreme things he says to make his points and it turns out very good, it makes me laugh while still making his point.
Thanks Vuaeco. A well described set of instructions, not without humour! How many times have I stuck a small screwdriver into my hand or a finger! I have almost exactly the same problem with a 26.8 Ah RAVPOWER battery. The micro USB socket has somehow got damaged, not broken off, but something is preventing the charging cable plug from being inserted. You've given me the confidence to tackle this problem. I going to have a crack at softening the glue first before I take a saw to it.
I love that you still covered your bench with paper for the blood splatter. And gee your blood is awfully thick like tomato sauce. You must really love that stuff it's even in your blood stream! 😂
Sorry to be so offtopic but does anybody know a trick to get back into an Instagram account..? I somehow lost my password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@Seth Jacob Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Thats impressive how you get the case open with no damage. If its just about harvest the battery, you could cut or break the side of the circuit right? Still I'm not feeling comfy to do that with my camera battery. But thanks for showing!
I have exactly the same power bank, and one of the usb-A ports fell into it. Screw driver to open was not working at all.. Will try my Dremel next. Thx for the info :)
I found a battery pack that doesn't glue it shut, they instead use clips to hold the top cover on. They just glue a lipo and put some pads on it to make sure it will be okay if you drop it or hit it pretty hard... But they don't make getting to the gosh dang USB ports easy. Shame, it was a darn good pack for the price. I am not going to risk using it in case the broken port somehow miraculously shorts.
To open the cover, using a battery operated drill with a small saw attachment on with you add a smaller diameter washer, will allow to cut the cover without reaching the cells. My thought....
I really like my power bank but I think the batteries have swollen and it’s not charging anymore. I neither have the tools nor confidence to cut into it 🥲 Great instructions though!
Excellent! Need your help if you please. I got a Ebikeling 48v, 1500w controller and I cannot get it to turn on. I was told that I needed an LCD/LED display to turn it on. I guess this display acts as a switch. Is there a way to bypass the LCD plug to turn this unit on? Have a you worked with something like that? What wires need to be jumped? Thanks
Yes, you can bypass the LCD to turn it on. There's a bundle of wire for power switch on your controller. Watch this video: ruclips.net/video/PuwnFMHHtaE/видео.html
vuaeco thank you for responding and I saw the video you suggested already about the controller and wire description but the Ebikeling controller has different wire set up. On the power plug red & black wire only, the the three motor leads, and the has the 5 wire plug for the LED/LCD display ( red, blue, black, green, yellow). On the black and red wire if this switch there is Hugh voltage from the battery(41v). Do you know which wire I need to jump in order to activate the controller? Thank you
@@diyek1781 Take your volt meter and measure one pair at a time. If it's the same as system voltage (in your case, 41V), don't jump it because it will short and spark. If it's between 3V-5V then you can try to jump it. One of the pair will be power switch.
tried it it doesn't work i actualy did a shity technique than it burned and sparkeld now i dont know what to do can you tell me what to do should i throws it or what
Me, watching this with a wrecked power bank on my desk and a band-aid on my hand: interesting
😂😂😂

What's the name of that particular tool if I don't want to call it oscillating tool
100% agreed. So much to learn from this genius. I could watch this channel all night long.

Great video! I totaly know the pain from trying to open glued plastic housings...
Video has me dying of laughter even after I spent 45 minutes trying to get this apart before giving into watching a RUclips video.

I love the blood splatter lol. Thanks for the tips!
You are good at this. Please keep these coming. Big fan.
Thanks, I would never have thought of this technique!

@Seth Jacob it worked and I now got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thank you so much you really help me out !
Hi mr eco...you could glue a depth stop on your cutter blade..just so you cut just thru the plastic without worrying whats underneath.
That's a great idea!

6:05 holy shit lmao be careful man
I was too focused on the camera I forgot there was a hot nozzle close by :(
@@vuaeco I hope the edit there was to run your hand under cold water.

very nice! you could also use a hammer to repeatedly smash the plastic. just don't swing too hard and youll be good 👍
i nearly had a stroke at hotairgun moment 🤣🤣
Your a funny guy, I loved your presentation
It would had been nice to see the continuation of the video when he finishes repairing the power bank, but a good video nonetheless,. Thanks
Thanks you bro
Use a soldering iron with a blade tip on full power, it cuts it like butter, opens straight up

What if we use an xacto knife blade to pry the plastic open before using the thicker nature of a flat screwdriver?
i already spilled some blood, but i found this vid now :)
I like to crack it, it's better this way lol
Nice video 🙂
Thanks this helped a lot !
Have u tried heat gun to soften glue and pull apart
Finally practical solutions!
hello dear, is there a device that I can use to determine the real capacity of the power bank? please advise
Love it!
I always enjoy your vids. Do u still ride your electric bike with your two super batteries?
Yes, I still ride it. It's my favorite.
Some come apart with a slight twist or you can use a hair dryer or heat gun and go around the edges and pull it apart.
Maybe on some. But most of these have hard and thick plastic. Twisting it by hand won't do a thing even with a heatgun.

Yeah discharge it before you open it up in case to damage the battery if you damage a fully charged battery its going to go up in flames.
"all hell will break loose" i laugh more than i should, lmao
Haha and it was fire works too
🎶 I whacked it extra hard on the concrete floor and it made a bih dance 🎶 sounds like an awesome saturday night
You could charge it with USB-A to USB-C but i dont know it can supply the batterys with charge.
Very Nice

Yup I had this problem with one bank, and two others died from bad firmware. They're just for harvesting imho.
Thank you! No one another to open it normal?
where does those 2 small thin red wires go? thanks
Hi, nice teardown. I own the same powerbank and I'd like to know what main chipset is in it. What chipset is on the PCB?
All of them

Please show how the batteries are placed
Usually these use rather low quality cells, no need to recover them
