I have heard that if you upload in 1440p then youtube will automatically use a better codec or whatever that doesn't mangle your video. I've had a bunch of videos get wrecked by youtube as well. If you just artificially bump the resolution up when you render you may have better results. That said, the rumour is that youtube automatically give you better quality if you're a bigger channel. You have a million subscribers, so what gives? This platform sucks.
