Saw this headline today: "Amateur Photographer Captures the Bird of the Century: A **First** in the United States". The article starts with "On a crisp morning in late April 2024, Michael Sanchez, a Vancouver resident and novice photographer, embarked on what he thought would be a routine nature walk at Hug Point State Recreation Site in Oregon. Little did he know that his leisurely excursion would culminate in a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with an exceptionally rare bird."
It goes on to say "The bird Sanchez photographed was subsequently identified as a Blue Rock Thrush (Monticola solitarius), a species typically found in Europe and Asia. This identification sent ripples of excitement through the ornithological community, as it marked the first confirmed sighting of this species in the United States." Can you imagined being that amateur photographer? As the author wrote, truly a once in a lifetime experience!!!!

We found them quite unusual on our trip. We managed to find 2 individuals in the month long trip. Both female types
