Nice video again. Jay is so up on sailing knowledge. That's a good thing ! Your video was a lot more joyful than the one I finished prior; watched Ben and Allie on Breaking Waves, good to see the result of their accident. You two take care and be careful out there ! Live your dream and don't look back ! 😃
@@user-retsailor Thank you 😊 we also just finished watching their video , very happy they got her floating again . Luckily for them she’s a tough boat .
Oh, good morning Sitka crew. I see that the royal carpenters found their favorite tree. During the mating and brooding season they look for good trunks You must fill the holes with fiber and resin, place plugs, sand and varnish. ADHESIVE tape is not highly recommended when there is constant humidity and water, there will always be leakage that way. P.S. Tapachula carpenters, THEY ARE CABRONES. ÁNDELE, ANDELE CABRÓN 😅
@@njbaskipper I use to love woodpeckers but not so much anymore. The tape was just a temporary thing done an amazing sailor to prevent water from going in while we were away. The damage happened while we were in Canada so sadly we couldn’t do a proper repair until recently.
@sailingsitka Ah, you already know that real woodpeckers, in addition to being bastards, are intelligent, among themselves they said: Let's open a hole here because these guys went to Canada. andele andele cabrón we Are Macho Bird and bien mexicano. 🤣🤣 Pájaro Cabrón
Good morning from South Africa Cape Town. Your fridge should run just above 0 psi and if you check the amps it should be just above 1amp . Then get a thermostat that runs to -20c. Then you can set it to 4/5 for a normal fridge / or -20c for a freezer !!!! Check the condenser and the fan connected to it. Make sure there is enough ventilation cause the cooler your hot side is the more afinion your comp will run!!!! email me pics of the unit if you need some more advice plz!!
@@Nico101..... Thank you for the advice , I’m definitely sending you a message next time we have refrigeration problems . We managed to get it sorted thank god.
Woodpeckers oh my! Try inspecting the holes and see if there are any small insects in the wood. The peckers like to leave them in the holes for return visit during times of less food source and snacks. Or, you might owe them salaries for killing insects off the mast that had found a temp home. Once repairs done, suggest simulated Owls on the stanchions which freely move with the wind to off the birds, one should work, two even better but be careful, the birds are smart and territorial, they will return because it’s their neighborhood. Once you set sail they will stay behind luckily. Can’t wait for the Caribbean and Atlantic. I’ve had a family for 40 years living near me and they have found a food train on the property, so much so they have a home in a large Oak tree.
@@birddogmason9862 From our inspections it looks like it was a male woodpecker trying to gain attention from a female. Who ever peck the loudest gets the cutest woodpecker girlfriend . The owl is good advice , we’ll definitely rig to boat up with bird deterrents next off season. Definitely was a lot of lesson learned . Thank you for your comment.
Freaky neck tattoo guy. I don’t get the tattoos 🤷🏻♀️. BUT, they aren’t to bad of sailing videos. I met a French Canadian once. He was motorcycling a BMW with a trailer. It was a cool 😎 setup so we smoke briefly. I was on my Harley 1200 Sportster Hotrod. He spoke broken English of course I spoke no French. I took phots that are lost now. He was kool his bike and trailer were very kool. This guy is French Canadian. I think 🤔
Ok I love the intro especially the music 🎶!!! Great Episode again!!! Love you 🥰

I wonder if you had found a rotten log and put it next to the boat if the woodpeckers wouldnt have gone after the spars.
@@SavingMaverick55 definitely something worth looking into next time we leave Sitka for an extended period of time
Did those peckers hit any mast wiring?
@@petercaras3696 Nothing on the main mast but he did peck a bit of the sheaving on a wire within the mizzen mast .
