Nice little motor for someone and looking like it’s going to be well prepared. If you are doing a good bit of mileage or want something for delivery service etc could be the ticket. I have found in the past a cold spat of weather can take out a spring.
I got 2006 one but it's like 300k km on the clock which I guess is a lot but it's pretty normal for my country standard. Car is giving me sooo much issues with them sensors and even one injector burned out and damaged the pistol on middle of the highway. I leaked oil on so many sides since gaskets are shit even if you change them. Mine don't have DPF but EGR died moment I bought the car.

This is type of thing Is going to happen to cars that are 10 15 year old things are going to break but a lot of people that buy cars at this age still expect nothing will ever go wrong

20 years ago I had a Ferrari 328 GTS. A spring broke on that and I hadn't noticed! The mechanic told me when I took it in for it's annual service. I must be a really good driver to not notice that!
I drove my Vectra around for a fortnight with a broken spring. I did hear the spring break but didn't know what had happened. The only thing I noticed was a knock when turned the steering to full lock.
Whoever ends up buying that little Peugeot will get a bit of a result. A brand new suspension spring, top mount, drop link and very recently done new brakes.
What happened is rust where its been sat so long probably got to the spring , anyway only like £30 quid for a new one off ebay , Im not a fan of French cars but they do know how to make good diesel engines.

I had Peugeot 206 spring replaced by MOT testers (even though it hadn't actually broke and was still doing job as a spring) the replacement generic spring broke after about 2000 miles whilst car was parked up. MOT testers say springs regularly break because or the state of the roads. Peugeot dealer says spring breakage is virtually unheard of. MOT testers stole money from my car too.

I know I'm low mileage user, but every car I had before and after has been good. My friends were convinced it was me, but I went through hell with that car. My dealers even called in the Peugeot top men, who wanted to come in and take photos of the old cylinder head, and i also saw it myself. Also new clutch and abs problems at only a couple thousand miles. After your comment here I finally accept that I must have been VERY unlucky indeed.
I have had two broken front springs One was a Peugeot 307 SW and one was a rover 45 Just the way it is The Peugeot was at the bottom though and did take out the front left tire .A nice buy for someone on a budget though
Great car the 207’s, much less hassle than any Polo or Ibiza. A mate put 310,000 miles on a 2007 1.6 HDI 110bhp on original engine, gearbox, turbo etc. Cheap motoring that car at £2200. Years of driving left in, only £20 tax and 60+ MPG.
Great video bud, I had a customer who drove 20 miles to me in a 206 so he could p ex it with the spring sticking in the tyre, don't know how it didn't blow,
This happened to me in my e90 i drove a mile to the nearest garage and their was a big gouge around the whole circumference of the tyre from the spring about 1cm deep in the sidewall, the tyre was a runflat though so it didn't even burst.
No tyre problems when a front spring failed on my Vectra. Not knowing what had happened I drove it for about a fortnight not knowing the spring was graunching up the shock absorber.
That happened to my Vectra as I was walking away from it at the Motorway services. Neither myself or the startled people in the car parked next to me could work out what the big bang was. Mistake. Although the car drove fine the spring was graunching the shock absorber so those needed to be replaced as well. Only about a year later a BMW driving colleague came into work with the end of a spring saying. I found this underneath my car in the morning.
I had a spring go once on me I was 40miles from home so limped it on motorway, your pricing is fair I feel and if you wasn't so far away I'd come purchase a car from you
They chuff on cold start up when the seals are leaking, granted if they has just started to seep you could not tell by sound and would need to check, we do check them all on the 1.4 and 1.6 hdi models as they are common
Ive had this broken spring issue 3 times.... Once on a work car which remained drivable but had to be recovered and fixed, and twice on a fiesta we owned - both broke on starting up and driving out at slow speed thankfully, but the car collapsed onto the wheel and nackered the tyre... Surely a dangerous design or quality flaw somewhere there with those fiestas... Lost confidence in it, was a 2007 model.
I had it twice on my Xsara Picasso my stepson owned it before me and had a spring go then i owned it and the other one went straight through the tyre aswel iam told it always best to change both at the same time.
@@Tolcarne-jl3yp yeah, but the fact that on failure the front collapsed on the wheel is concerning and dangerous.... If that happened at speed I dread to think of the result
springs never used to break on old cars up until the 90s , at least on Japanese cars, but maybe they started making them of thinner wire, that is stiffer. I had one snap on a Berlingo, quite common on those.
The roads have got worse. The number of bumps and potholes they deal with has increased, plus the fact lower profile tyres remove the flex in the tyres that removed some of the worst of the bumps that they tyres used to deal with.
The old springs were just better made and that's going off a Peugeot 405 1.9 and Ford Sierra 1.8 that were used as Taxis. Coils springs snapping all the time was unheard of.
look again the outer part where the paint has come off over the years is rusty, but you can see the centre core is fresh. there is no conspiracy going on here at the end of the day a spring broke and we replaced it 🤷
Hi Lee, I once had a Xsara cut out on the motorway - Turned out that the spring broke which provided enough shock to trip the engine cut-out! The irony that a safety device created a hazard. On your 207, I notice the seats are stained, I have that on my car due to water spills - How do you get rid of these white water stains???
Like a Christopher Robin story this is😂 Tiger lost his Spring. Winnie the Poo fixes at CarPitch and gets the Pot of Honey as a reward 😂😂 Good video to end the Year 👍
@carukchannel thanks I bought one about 2 years ago and it hasn't given me any trouble yet anyway. Lenses fell of back taillamps and was hard to source 2nd hand units they are scarce now.
Any ideas for a bulletproof motor for 7-8k. Not bothered if petrol or diesel, but it's for someone who's disabled so something very easy to get in and out of. Ideally also automatic (not CVT please heard they're awful). Looking for some suggestions
You never seem to come across Volvo C30s I have a low mileage one 1.6d less than 60k full service history and I'm thinking i should be getting 3k for it, what do you reckon?

The old springs were just better made and that's going off a Peugeot 405 1.9 and Ford Sierra 1.8 that were used as Taxis. Coils springs snapping all the time was unheard of.
Yes your right, back in the day we never had to change springs, I think there made thinner now for un sprung weight, or just cheaply made.
They don’t make springs like they used to I m always getting MoT failures with a broken spring but only at the end
How come if the spring has just broken this minute the broken end is rusty?
look again the outer part where the paint has come off over the years is rusty, but you can see the centre core is fresh. there is no conspiracy going on here at the end of the day a spring broke and we replaced it 🤷
There was a time when 3 doors were more desirable than 5 doors. Or am I imagining it? I thought the engine had gone bang in the initial preview 😂.
smaller cars for first time drivers want 3 door; most older drivers want 5 doors
The 2.0 diesel is a little pocket rocket if you can find one.
They do go well the 2.0
Hi Lee, I once had a Xsara cut out on the motorway - Turned out that the spring broke which provided enough shock to trip the engine cut-out! The irony that a safety device created a hazard.
On your 207, I notice the seats are stained, I have that on my car due to water spills - How do you get rid of these white water stains???
Wow. Didn’t take long to sell. Well done
full asking too, thanks for watching pgree
aren't you supposed to replace front springs in pairs
correct however this had already been changed recently on the drivers side which may have added to the stress of the passenger side breaking.

Good video to end the Year 👍
That car was bought at spring field.
What's your opinion on the 307cc 1.6 petrol, any experience of them.
307cc use the older 1.6KFU engine, not the same used in the Mini's and later 207's and 308's etc. IT was a decent engine to be fair.
@carukchannel thanks I bought one about 2 years ago and it hasn't given me any trouble yet anyway. Lenses fell of back taillamps and was hard to source 2nd hand units they are scarce now.
I think the engine is called a tu5
Nice cheap little motor. Good informative vids mate. After a valet and service nobody could complain at £2595 let alone £2195 your asking.
They can't really grumble @ £2195 mate, nice little first car for someone
always best for faults to show its head easy fix and repair on that

At least it was only a wear and tear item which could happen at anytime on any aged car 👍
Any ideas for a bulletproof motor for 7-8k. Not bothered if petrol or diesel, but it's for someone who's disabled so something very easy to get in and out of. Ideally also automatic (not CVT please heard they're awful).
Looking for some suggestions

Do people tend to haggle the prices ? Do you always get what you're asking for?
maybe 3 out of 10 haggle, 90% of the time we don't drop the price, the excepting if something is in stock a little longer than I thought
"What the fuck was that?"
