Love how manufacturers somehow manage to put in so many cool new stuff that makes these more usable (like lets be honest, a 100W Marshall fullstack is RocknRoll af but I guess getting lynched by the neighborhood is too?) but without sacrificing the character.

This is such a small detail but I love that the camera is handheld with those individual tone demos. That slow subtle shake is very pleasing to me for some reason. Awesome video as always!

I have and absolutely adore the Jim Root Terror. I put an MXR Sugar Drive in front and it has the bite and thuggychugness that I need without getting hyper saturated or muddy. Essential to my tone, that amp is

Haha not a new signature! The dark purple satin color is almost impossible to copy. It’s a 2005 Edwards E-LP-112CE based on a customized Gibson James Hetfield played around the St. Anger era. They’re pretty rare, tracked it down on Spanish Craigslist and picked it up in Germany 😂

The real star of the show wasn't the amp itself - it was all the dozens of guitars used to demo that little great sounding amp.
These Engls are great value for what you get. They sound excellent and have all the extras, Looper, Boosts, Reverb, Bedroom volume, and noisegate. Insane.

Legit question. Are you able to recall different delay/reverb settings per each preset? Like have a solo boost with a bit of delay then switch to a shoegaze preset with tons of delay and reverb?
I think line6 started the digital amp platform which a lot amps use now the clean-insane and effects knobs . collaboration with bogner which was was seen as joke at the time , thinking it was desperations but now seen as the future. It’s funny how things work , u can’t be to far ahead of the curb or else ppl think your nuts or late to the party and booze are gone and everyone left …

Can't you just cross reference prices as if you were shopping for the amp? I see questions like this a lot on RUclips, and don't understand why they're asked. In the time it takes for someone to answer, you could have searched for retail prices on your own. Great amp, nevertheless

( i can afford both)

Hey Hunter, I've heard you say before that the Revv G20 is your favorite sounding lunchbox head, how would you compare the tone to the Engl? I have the G20 and while I love it, it is a little flubbier than I anticipated from all the demos calling it a "high gain monster," and needs a boost to bring it to that modern high gain territory. Just wondering if the Fireball is more saturated or has a similar issue?
Ironball 20 is tighter. Fireball 25 might be a tad less but a tad more aggressive.

Y' know, Hunter, I was ready to give that li'l mutha time to convince me that it could match a modeller, but there is one area where it REALLY can't: That PRICE TAG! Yeah, I know it depends on what modeller you compare it to, but ... damn!
It would be interesting to see this compared to the REVV G20. That seems to be the closest competitor, feature-wise.
If amp videos didn’t have a 50% chance of bombing so fucking hard on my channel, I’d do a G20, Ironball SE, Grandmeister Deluxe shootout. Crazy how stacked lunchbox heads have become! The ENGL is the most aggressive-sounding one, though IMO

The H&K was what I was heavily considering before going with this model, & the Revv was on my wishlist before that but something was holding me back from revv even though I’ve had some fun with their G4 pedal. I still may end up grabbing one for shits & giggles before I commit to cab exporation tbh but my primary goal is a brutal but articulate tone and I felt like this one may be a better fit than H&K. We’ll find out in a few days when my se gets here, thanks for the video!!

Sounds really good. My question is tho, exactly how much power is 30watts when translated into sound?
If I turned my 30 watt amp up all the way with my4x12 it would be unbearable, physical pain and possibly stuff rattling off of tables. Pretty much more than enough volume
See I had like way back wen I started a 15 watt amp n it wasn’t that loud…. 1 have a 120watt head now with a 4x12… n if u go like a little past a qtr on the master volume the feedback is insane, so I’ve never got to actually her how loud 120 watts is, but know the 15 was quiet lol… need me a noise gate so I can test this ha

Now if someone could bring something like this to market at a price mere mortals can afford. In terms of features it seems to have a great mix but to make something like this affordable would probably need manufacturing to go to the Far East as well as changing material selections to make the amps lighter for transport as well as cheaper to construct.

The equivalent Kemper (ie with a power amp) is literally $1000.00 more 🤔 ….and it won’t sound near as good.

It's a tough decision. The FM9 is $1600 but no power section. A used Kemper with a power amp is around $1300. I want to get a modeller rig but I'm thinking plugins for now... Eventually one of those big boys then *maybe* much more eventually a Fryette 100-watt reamper.
I still might look for a used Engl Fireball 25 or Ironball 20.

I think that’s kind of missing the point of the head. I literally didn’t use anything else besides what was built into the amp for the entire video. You can get a good-sounding 100W for less money, but in my experience cheaper high-wattage tube heads are either barebones feature-wise, or one-trick ponies. Nothing wrong with that, but this is a different animal; everything you’d realistically need in one convenient package.

Yep! That’s what the XLR out with IRs is for. Load on your favorite 4x12 impulse response, sounds massive going straight FOH!
Cost too much for just 25 watts. Yes you could run straight into house blah blah blah. I live in the country and alot of times you're playing to a couple hundred people in a field with only a PA for vocals
