Watching this is still puzzling, but hopefully inspiring to dome building to hempcrete construction. I, for one, would like to watch more on this construction with the persons inhabiting the structure.
Thanks for the comment. I'm working on a hemp building online course that hopefully will be available by the spring. I'll let you know when it's out. Probably will be available on Udemy and the like.
Hi everyone. Apologies for not finishing the video for the actual building with hempcrete. I'm hoping to finish it this winter. In the meanwhile, there's an online course you can check out: hempacademia.thinkific.com/courses/hempcretebuilding
Is there any place one can find more details about building a hempcrete dome? I am considering building one. Questions that come to mind are: Is it possible to easily collect rainwater from the roof? What for a plaster can one use for the outside of the dome that will protect it from rain but still allow the hempcrete to "breath"?
Hi Frederick. You can find more about building a hempcrete dome at Loveland Hemp Co. facebook.com/lovelandhemp/ . We covered the dome with Hemp Plaster which totally protects it from rain and allows it to breath -- because it's hemp:-) I've always dreamed of having a rainwater collection system, but I've not yet had a chance to build for myself, so can't be helpful with that one. Enjoy building! Would love to see your finished product.
I've been researching all over the internet but haven't found any information about building a geodesic dome with hempcrete at all. If you have any info/insights you could give it would be amazing. I would love to start building in a month or two!
@@deamillion9576 Thank you for your reply. Yes I've seen his channel, but he's not building a geodesic dome, but ribbed dome. Have you finished yours in the video with hempcrete??
@@krittiya22 Yes, we did finish it. However, I didn't put together the second video because of unforeseen circumstances. However, it's been years since then and it might be a good time to get back in contact with the builder and see if she's ready to start a training video. Nobody in that group had ever built a dome before, so one of our brilliant volunteers found instructions online and figured out how to build the structure from 2x4s. That proved to be the most difficult part. Would you like to talk further offline? I'd be happy to help! Email me at deamillion@me.com.
HI Andrew. Unfortunately, the follow-up video hasn't been put together yet. However, you may be interested in this new online hempcrete building course launching in January: endeavourcentre-online.thinkific.com/courses/hempcrete-all-hemp-dates
Yes, we did hemp it in. I just never got around to creating that video, of which we may make into a training video to help out with Loveland Hemp Company expand their expertise. Still may happen one day. Thanks.
@@deamillion9576 hope you can post some news about those results soon! Would be very interesting to see hemp in that form and the way it performs! Til now its all kind of an interesting idea in our heads (at least in mine since a while), and you made it possible! Would be nice to see! Cheers! ☕
Thanks Frederick for helping answer this question. True it wasn't meant to be instructional and the "helping it in" portion has not been completed yet. Life took a different turn for me and I'm slowly returning to the hemp space. I'd love to be able to finish the video and make it instructional.
So sorry Eve, but my life took a turn and I wasn't able to finish it. There are many courses out there now, but I'll try to get the second video finished and you'll be the first to know when it's published.
Unfortunately, they make it a little cumbersome to actually enroll in this course. I had to 'sign-up' and create a new account. Then once there, go to the 'support' tab under my account in upper right, and send an email asking how to enroll.

What is the foundation made of?
Many apologies for never answering this. Social media is not a strength of mine. The foundation is basically a wood deck.

Whatever happened "hemping it in" ?
I think that this video was not meant to be instructional but a teaser for people to come help and learn, next weekend.
Not a video but a Facebook photo album with over 290 images of the "hemping it in". facebook.com/lovelandhemp/posts/591927867653678
You may need to login to Facebook for the album to work. I had to at least.
