1971 Fiat 128 replica - Hill Climb / Street build [ENG SUB]

  • This Zastava 101 was converted to look exactly like a Fiat 128 and then built into a hill-climb race car. The outside of the car gives some hints that this is not a regular 128 (or 101), specifically the wide wheels wrapped in Nankang semi-slick tyres and the bucket seats. Under the hood hides a 1.6 Lancia engine equipped with twin Dellorto carburettors making about 100 hp which is about double the power this car came with.
    The Zastava 101 was built by copying the Fiat 128 chassis which makes this a straight forward conversion as the main bones of the cars are the same.

    Ova Zastava 101 preradena je da izgleda točno kao Fiat 128, a onda slozena a u stroj za brdske utrke. Vanjski dio vozila daje neke naznake da ovo nije obični 128, posebno široki kotači omotani Nankang polu-slick gumama i školjka sjedala. Ispod haube krije se 1.6 Lancia motor opremljen sa dva dupla Dellorto karburatora. Auto trenutno ima oko 100 KS što je otprilike duplo od tvornicke snage ovog auta.

    Luka,svaka ti čast,napravija si iz ljubavi i auto je izvrstan,Lancia mašina pogodak samo takav!!!A ako nekome nije sad concours d'elegance restauracija,neka naprave bolje.Meni kao Alfisti zagriženom je ovo vridno i poštovanja i divljenja.Bravo šta si spasija i vratija na cestu još jedno vridno i lipo auto koje bi završilo pod prešu,Forza!...pozz iz Splita!!!

    Od napred isti kec tj zastava 101 ova saksija je stara 45 godina i vise, cudno daje izdrzala do sad u tom stanju🇷🇸🇷🇸🇷🇸👍👍👍

    Hola! Yo compré un Fiat 128 Súper Europa 1500cc de 1983 y lo estoy restaurando. Aquí en Argentina se fabricaron las 3 series (Berlina, Europa y Súper Europa) desde 1971 hasta 1991. Hermoso trabajo hiciste en el tuyo, felicitaciones.

    I like this little Fiat. This is nice and I love the way it sounds boy. Does it sound nice the Exhaust Notes. Over here in the United States, Los Angeles, California.

    Interesting to me that he said the engine was a 1,600cc Lancia motor. I recognize the standard 128 camcover used in the 1971 standard 1,116cc over-square (80mm bore x 55.5mm stroke) alloy head with cast iron block. I'm guessing the "Lancia" motor is a modded 128 engine with a longer stroke and slightly larger bore. I wouldn't think they would increase the 10.5/1 compression because the standard was already requireing 91 octane gas and suffered from pinging. Those twin Dellorto carbs and free flow intake manifolds are awesome! (Bet there are matching awesome free-flow headers to match! The 128 looks belied its crazy-good handling (turns grandma's into slalom racers within a few weeks of driving! Feels like a puma cat on high-speed turns and can slide all 4 with pedal to the floor - that's with a completely standard 1971 128!). Unforgettable one of a kind fun bucket with tons of interior space and decent trunk. Need to do your own maintenance though (unless you have big pockets).

      Honestly not sure about the engine, i know lancia swaps are common around these parts for old zastavas and yugos. The car is awesome and one of my favourites i have filmed

      It's more likely it had an engine swap, the zastava dmb 1.1 or 1.3 engine it probably came with are known to be a lot less good then the italian or argentinian engines and it's way easier to just swap it for another engine.
      A proffesional mechanic buddy of mine has a 128 pick up and he also just swapped its engine for a fiat 1.6.

      It is an engine swap, commonly known from the Fiat Family, Tipo Engine. By the way, here in Argentina, some people increases the bore size of the original engine (on 1.1 engines can go up to 1.4 and 1.3 engines to 1.6). I am doing the same as Luka, I bought a 1.6 Tipo Engine that came in the Fiat Palio to put it on my 128 :)

      @@RodrigoTano1 i didn't know the palio came with a 128 family engine. In europe they were like the bravo(a) engines. Is it a 8v 1.6?
      If i'm not mistaken it takes a lot of effort to swap the 16v's into the 128 body.

      @@roknikov Yeah kinda like that. The Tipo engine is the succesor of the 128a engine, it came in the Fiat Uno, Tipo, Duna, 147 and the latest one (before chaning to the Torque Engine I guess) was the Fiat Palio 1st gen. It came in 1.4 and 1.6, both of them 8v! The swap is really easy, it uses the same supports to hang the engine to the engine bay so you don't have to make any modifications. The only thing is that the engine stays a little bit higher and a little rotated to the front compared to the 128a but that's it.

      If it helps some years back I had made a longer lever on my mk1 Golf by using a tall nut and a threaded rod of the same pitch as the shifter, treading the shifter rod half way in and the additional rod half way in, then just cut to spec and added the knob. 😉

      Snimano je u raklju, crkva Sveti Mikula / setnica Stjepana Hausera. Odmah ispod je i sada zatvoreni kamenolom, nazalost pristup nije bas dobar pogotovo za ovakav auto ali zanimljivo mjesto za ic vidjeti

    Super ti auto radi. Ko da je tri ipo cilindra. Ajde to je normalno sa delortima starim 50godina. Probaj naći nekog ko se malo razumije u tehniku. Da ti pogleda fali li igdje po klipa i jesu li svi ventili na broju. Dotle nemoj davati gas, da te niko ne čuje. Inače, 128-ica je simpa. Posebno felge.
